Some say that love happens just once in a lifetime … But what happens when you lose that one person who meant everything to you?
While the institution of marriage is known to bring two souls together in the most beautiful union ever, can a second marriage become the glue that pieces back the shards of two broken hearts to make them whole again? Even today, the prospect of remarriage is a taboo across several parts of India, with conservative sections of society still frowning at those who dare to start a life with a new partner.
Punar Vivah, is a mature, progressive story of two individuals Yash (played by Gurmeet Chaudhary) and Aarti (played by Kratika Sengar), who are brave enough to give life a second chance. The show delves into the dynamics of re-marriage, highlighting the trials and tribulations that are a part of re-adjusting to a second life partner. However, what makes the re-marriage of Yash and Aarti even more challenging is the fact that they are both parents to young children.
Gurmeet Chaudhary who is known for playing Maan Singh Khurana on Star One's Geet Hui Sabse Parayi said, "As a rather lively, mischievous chap who's up to some prank or the other most of the time, it is quite a challenge for me to play someone as intense, brooding, distant, cold and embittered as Yash. But that is what I believe acting is all about. As an actor, Punar Vivah is quite distinctly different from anything I have attempted so far. I am quite confident the viewers will find this new avatar of mine most intriguing!"
Speaking of her role in the show, Kratika Sengar said, "I have had the fortune of working with Zee TV before as Rani Laxmibai on Jhansi Ki Rani and have received immense appreciation for the role. Even today, people still recognize me as Jhansi Ki Rani in public places, months after the show has gone off air. After having essayed such a formidable historical figure, it's very interesting to be playing the mature role of a contemporary Indian woman Aarti who is the mother of a young child and on the threshold of a re-marriage. The idea of giving life a second chance and attempting to find happiness all over again is what appealed to me the most. I'll give the role my best shot and I hope the audience accepts me as Aarti and gives me as much love as they did when I played Jhansi Ki Rani."
The channel plans to launch Punar Vivah with an aggressive, interactive marketing campaign that will stir up discussions amongst the viewers about the issue of remarriage through a judicious mix of outdoor, print and electronic media.
Mr. Sukesh Motwani, Head- Fiction Programming, Zee TV said, "In keeping with Zee TV's recently launched brand positioning of Umeed Se Saje Zindagi, we are proud to present a new show that resonates well with the spirit of enduring hope. Punar Vivah is all about being brave, giving life a second chance and making new beginnings in search of love and happiness. It talks about two people embarking on the quest of rebuilding their lives together, following the loss of their respective soul mates. The treatment of the show is extremely positive, progressive, and mature. It's not a preachy show that aims to propagate remarriage or drive in a serious, social message. It's an intelligent, sensitive look at all that two people go through in readjusting to a new partner after already being used to the ways of one. It is as much about how their children cope with the upheaval."
The show is produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions. Shashi Mittal who is co-producing the show with husband Sumeet Mittal has written for several Zee TV shows in the past including like Ghar Ki Lakshmi … Betiyaan, Naagin & Maa.
When the man you called your soul mate leaves you for another woman, can you possibly bring yourself to believe in the sanctity of marriage again? After the woman you fell hopelessly in love with passes away, crushing your every romantic dream, can you muster the courage to feel for another afresh? Will the two be able to bring happiness to each others' lives and feel complete once again? Will the two feel the same intensity and excitement that they had experienced in their first brush with love?
To witness the journey of Yash and Aarti and to get answers to all the above questions, stay tuned as Punar Vivah premieres on Monday, February 20th and airs every Monday-Friday at 10:30 PM, only on Zee TV.Originally posted by: gohem123
