"Poongs"

Its been two days since the hospital incident... Dadi's health was getting better with ofcourse Geet by her side.. What was so surprising for Geet is that her all time Khadoos husband did not even shout at her since the last two days even when she accidentally spilled coffee on his shirt when he was getting ready for office..

Round the noon.. Geet sat in the living room after finishing her works thinking about Maan's change in behavior all of a sudden... just then annie who came home from her shopping saw Geet thinking over something and sat by her side .

Annie : bhabhi kya huwa ??? kuch soch rahe ho ???

Geet : kuch nahi annie.. bus thoda sa thak gayi hoon..

Annie was concerned : bhabhi aapki tabiyat tho teek hai na ???

Geet : haa Annie. mai bilkul teek hu.. just a little tired..

Annie : bhabhi aap naraz nahi ho to mai kuch kahu ??

Geet : you don't need to ask permission annie . whats the matter ???

Annie : woh bhabhi..!!! there were so much of confusion in your's and bhai's wedding . I could not invite some of my friends . so they were asking if they could visit us today evening '

Annie saw geet silent for a minute and said : no problem bhabhi . if you aren't comfortable , I'll ask them to come some other day .

Geet smiled : koi bath nahi Annie.. invite them . I'll look after the arrangements..

Annie hugged her instantly : oh bhabhi thank you so much !!!!! you are the best bhabhi !!!

With that she ran towards her room while geet smiled and called nakul to make arrangement for the guests '.

Geet took rest for sometime and started helping nakul for the preparations .

Nakul : Geet madam , aap jayiye mai yeh sab karlunga..

Geet smiled : arey bhaiya aap kyu madam madam keh rahi ho ??? please app bus Geet kahiye.. aur waise bhi.. I have so much time to get ready . so i'll help you for some more time .

Nakul was over whelmed : teek hai Geet ji..

Time flew by and both of them dint notice that it was time for the guests to arrive.. suddenly annie came into the kitchen and was kind of shocked to see her there without getting ready..

Annie : bhabhi , aap abhi tak ready nahi hui ???

Geet without looking at her : haan annie , bus 2 mins . I'll go and get ready .

Annie : par bhabhi , my friends will be there in 5 mins .

Geet : oh !!! teek hai , nakul bhaiya aap please sambal lena . I'll leave now .

Nakul : ji.

With thet Geet almost ran towards her room and took quick shower and changed her dress'she wore an orange chudidar and plaited her hair .. she kept her make up to the minimal and wore baby pink lip gloss . she looked so pure and innocent in orange colour. she checked herself in the mirror and proceeded to the kitchen to check on nakul .

Annie came and took geet to introduced to her friends .

Annie : guys this is Geet bhabhi .

Everyone were so surprised.. they were on the expectation that being Maan Singh Khurana's wife , she would be wearing some modern dress upto her knee or atleast flaunt herself . but what they saw was a total contrary . Geet looked so soft and innocent . above all wearing a chudidar ??? looking like a behenji ???? totally out of dictionary !!!

Friend 1 : Annie , mazak mat karo . we want to meet Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana.. not the maid of the house .

Friend 2 : haan Annie , even a child would not believe this lady to be your bhai's wife .

Annie was hell angry : enough guys !! what are you saying ??? This is GEET and my bhabhi . I won't tolerate any non-sense against her .

Friend 3 said teasingly or say mockingly : per Annie !! we just can't believe this !! we all know about the confusion in your bhai's wedding . I am sure he would have married her out of pity or compulsion . I don't think your Geet bhabhi is even educated . see she is looking like a absolute middle class family types . I wonder what your brother sees in her.

Annie was about to give her back but Geet who was a silent spectator to the growing arguments between Annie and friends could not stand what the last one said . she tried to keep her anger on limit and asked looking at the person who just spoke : well miss , whats your name ???

Friend 3 gave her a dirty look and said with an attitude : Kanika..

Geet : well Ms. Kanika I guess you are more concerned about Annie's Maan bhai .. oops ! I mean my husband Mr.Maan Singh Khurana !! to begin with yes there were lots of confusions in our marriage . but as you all know , Maan had his own choice and settles for the best . No one can force him with things that he don't like . That counts even our marriage.

It was Maan , who asked me to marry him . I felt so lucky at that time but not now... In fact now I feel so proud and happy to be a part of Khurana family not only for the fact that I am Maan's wife but also I got a mother in the form of dadima and a sister and a brother in the form of Annie and Vicky. Not everyone in this world would get this chance . Out of all the people he chose me !! That itself is a great gift for me !!Before Geet or anyone could say anymore , Maan who was hearing the whole conversation from the beginning came inside . he acted as if he was surprised to see them .

Maan smiled at her which was a total nose cut to the so called friends : haan Geet . I finished the works soon so that I could spend some time with you , Dadima and Annie .

Geet was totally confused . he spending time with the family ??? she was even more shocked when she felt his hand on her waist .

Maan gave her a killing smile and said : so chale sweetheart .

He turned and winked at Annie and said : Annie you continue your work , I need to discuss something with Geet..

With that he took Geet upstairs leaving the so called friends who were looking at them with their jaws dropped .

When Maan and Geet reached room , none spoke for some time . then Geet decided to break the silence and said : woh Maan.. you get freshened up . I'll bring coffee for you .

When she was about to leave the room , Maan said : ruko Geet , mujhe tumse kuch baat karna hai .

Geet : haan Maan boliye .

Maan came and made her to sit in the couch near by : Geet , I know before or after marriage , we never had a good relationship . all we do is fight with each other for one or the other reason . The main thing is we don't know anything about each other . our likes , dislikes ' so I thought why don't we give a chance.. shall we become friends ???

On the other hand Geet was totally dumbfound with the total unexpected turn of events but then smiled and said : so friends ??????

Maan smiled back and shook her hands and said : yeah , friends !!! I want to say one more thing also Geet . Don't ever let any third person affect you . people will be there only to make our situation worse not any better .

Suddenly they heard a knock and it was Annie standing there with a sad expression . Maan asked her to come inside .

Annie : I am so sorry bhai and bhabhi . I never thought that my friends could behave like that . What ever they spoke about bhabhi was totally unreasonable . The thing I am the one responsible for this makes me feel worse . please forgive me bhai and bhabhi . I promise this won't happen again .

Geet went and stood near Annie and wiped her tear that escaped her eyes and said : no problem Annie . it was no fault of yours . you know a best friend of mine once told me that...

" Never take a strangers words to your heart . just hear and leave it on spot" . So be happy and forget everything .

With that Geet hugged her and gave a sweet smile to Maan who in turn returned it .
