@meetu, to be exact it is not even about being smart, a little 15 year old or 16 year old would know this...it is something basic yaar...

@Shivi: I get where you are coming from and I agree that it was incredibly stupid and naive of her not to leave the slightest hint with anyone of where she was or why she was going there. This is why I have been saying since last night that I want to see a situation where she narrowly escapes Vikram and manages to get home but then a huge feeling of shame overtakes her where she realises how stupid she was, in retrospect to believe him and feels ashamed to tell Maan what happened because he will be so uncontrollably angry that he might hurt himself, or mindlessly go after Vikram again. She could also be worried that he would think less of her for what she can now see, looking back on it, as a rash and emotional decision.

I think seeing her deal with this shame and conflict would redeem her stupidity in meeting Vikram without a back up plan, for me.

@Shivi: Yep! I changed it yesterday. The old one was not very interesting and made me sound like some sort of prisoner. Glad you like the new one! I thought it was rather witty myself. 😛

I said the same thing a few days ago about the alarm/reminder on his phone. However, by the time she decided to go, he was in the meeting and I assume had his phone with him there. Still she could have gone old school and left him a note saying if I am not back by such a time, please come and find me at this address. Undeniably, she was stupid. But that is not necessarily a bad thing story wise if they use it properly to develop her character and the Maaneet relationship.

How many of us have not had a bad thing happen that could have been avoided if we had just decided to do something else or go somewhere else, which we had considered, at that moment, or if we had just taken a second to think of the outcome? Granted, this is on a much larger scale as it deals with life and death but I think they could really show Geet regretting this and feeling an overwhelming sense of shame, which prevents her from opening up to Maan completely, eventually bringing more maturity to their relationship when they accept that each can do very stupid things in the name of love.

Oooh and symbolism of the phone calls. I think it symbolises that Geet can both be MSK's strength and his weakness. In the phone call that got him attacked, Geet was frantic, panicky and irrational. She was saying she had a feeling that something bad was happening and that phone call distracted Maan and got him whacked. On the other hand, the phone call to Maan in KC, Geet was calm and rational, she had just accepted Maan's decision to come after Dev without question and she was calmly asking him about the situation. I think it shows that Geet's level of calmness directly affects Maan's how Maan reacts to things and so she can save his life by being calm and supportive or she can put it at risk by panicking and reacting from emotion.

@Anu: Good point about the gender differences. There are things that Geet is risking, meeting Vikram alone, that Maan wouldn't be. As much as we want them to be equal and their decisions to be equal, this can't be the case as Geet has more to lose in the situation.
