That is for the educated and the elite. What about the masses? They would be watching the so-called entertainment channel rather than the news or discovery channel. So messages sent through the entertainment show has a greater reach and can be powerful. You may not prefer BV or Laadoo but these shows are still hugely popular despite being on air for more than 3 years. Goes to show that even if you are giving social messages you can still be popular. Not all such shows are glorigying the wrong. As to showing the regressive side, that can happen even in a love story can it not? What about the current track in our show? Is it not regressive to the degree of infinity?

That was in the past Anu. Of late I've not seen them give in to fan demand. If they had they would have wound up the Amritsar track long back, not had the Devini track and not brought the circus to KM. I can clearly see them do what they want. If they want to give us Maaneet scenes they will. If they want us to put up with Devini interlude, they will.

In the past if CV's and PH would not have heeded to fans demands than no one bother to make such hugh cry over Devini because they would have accept the fact that no matter what CV's will never listen to us...

How long have we been crying hoarse against Devini? Six months? Did we see their end? Fans never stop crying though. Have seen it in other shows too. They will go down fighting. that is the nature of fans. Does not mean the CVs will listen to them always.

I myself have faced this when I was in Bidaai forum..We all used to want more RagVir..but all we got was other tamashas...so slowly people started demanding less😆...

I think we are already demanding less. we are willing to put up with anything only if they keep giving us Maaneet.

And I Guess everyones opinion on TV shows is different😊...If i want to see social issues I will rather prefer seeing a news channel than a serial on it😊..but that is my POV...I plainly see TV as medium of information which is news and entertainment which is movie and shows😊..

Coming to that show What the lead did was after he fell in love with Anandi😊...dint he use her??? he loved her...and than suddenly he sees someone else and fals in love and leaves his wife ... what was that??😊 ..

I have not seen the show continuously but I dont think the adult Jagya was in love with Anandhi. He had a soft corner for her but I dont think it was love. He is a weak character but nowhere near Dev, before he gained sainthood.

I agree that Geet has done many mistakes ..thanks to the writers ..but have we all been crying it loud??? have we accepted it when Geet does something wrong?? no na😊...Infact those days i dint even wact the entire epis

I just wanted to say that every show runs on its plus point...Maaneet and their love is plus point here...people who like seeing them together will watch even though the story goes crap😆...for me untill Maaneet are there and untill they show beautiful love between Maneet I will watch it😳

That is your wish Anu. But that does not mean one has to run down the other shows to show how this show is better off. I guess I've done enough of typing on this subject and since I am not yet strong enough to continue this argument I am stopping here.

If we accept that television soaps are merely for the purposes of entertainment and that the makers are not accountable for the portrayal of social issues:

Why are we all shouting ourselves hoarse about the portrayal of Geet and Dev as a camraderie-sharing brother-in-law and sister-in-law? We still get some wonderful Maaneet bonding moments.

Why do we continue to lambast Dev and label him a "rapist"? We still continue to get some Maaneet trip-fall-catch scenes.

Why are we name-calling Nandini who is only getting married to Dev, the man she loves, and who challenged her lover to marry her? We still continue to get some Mahis being played in the background, and only for Maaneet. Devini still don't have their own background score, do they?

Why are we so bothered about Geet being involved in Dev and Nandini's marriage? Is it only because she is suppressing something from Maan? Would it have been ok with us if both Maan and Geet were involved in Dev and Nandini's wedding and showered some rose petals on them? Or is the cause for our distaste something much deeper?

Had the show not been touted as having been launched on a "social issue", would we have approved all of the above had Geet undergone the same experience in the initial months of being duped by Dev and being left pregnant and almost-killed by her family?

When we had a Maaneet saree folding scene, coupled with an eyelock and Mahi being played in the background, in day before yesterday's episode, why did we still lash out at the creatives and makers of the show?

@Opti:Its not self-interest ..its how the trend in television today ...why u think Shabbir made a wrong choice ??because he was not getting offers and he had to take whatever he got for running his kitchen there ...the fact is an actor who gets all fame and popularity in one show and also gets branded with his co-star in one show can never make it big later in his career ...Shabbir got branded with Michi image along with his costar and so he could never come out of it as he never got any offer later and when he got LTL ,he jumped onto it ...its a harsh fact and its true ..same will happen to both GC and DD as well ..because it has happened with every popular branded jodi till now ..they struggle in thier careers later once that famous show is off air ,...I told this based on what I saw over the years and not on my own self-interest ..
