why saving maaneet is becoming a campaign

Well, I am a senior publishing house editor in Delhi dealing with serious fiction, non-fiction and writing commentative articles. I would be the most unlikely candidate to fall for a Hindi serial. Some would call me uncool. In between Orhan Pamuk and watching Majid Majidi, what little time do I have for TV? The little grabs that I get, I followl ABC series. Geet is my only exception. Why? There is no rationale. Does it satisfy what I call the "pride and prejudice" syndrome in every woman (we are forever in search of elizabeth and mr darcy), does it seem the perfect love story, does it make me go awww every time, does it stir similar emotions when the couple traverses the trajectory of their relationship, its high and lows, do the lead couple give me a sense of wish fulfilment (their chemistry spills over), does it keep me a girl despite my advancing years,does it make me less inhibited about letting go off my passion... all and more are true. But it's my daily fix, I can sleep happy only after watching it. I am crazy enough to work my schedule around it. I have even tried Bade achche lagte hai as my second serial on the suggestion of colleagues and I don't mind missing its episodes, the euphoria has gone for me. But not so with Geet. Even while in the US vacationing recently, I watched each missed episode on youtube. It's confusing but Geet is my only happy hour moment in a stressful day. But I don't have a TAM meter, I may not be TRP material but I am a loyal viewer. Trust the production house and channel to value us too. So much so that I have reasearched earlier work of Geet makers and the channel and found that this has done in a short time what many dramas haven't managed in a long time. If you value people like us, then do not end geet. You may say you have run out of a good storyline. Let me remind you that you started with a very good one in the first place. Get that desperation back to think out of the box. That is if you value me, a working woman who still loves the girl in geet. Becasue she brings a smile on my face. And that's a rarity in the real world. Save Geet, save maaneet, save the viewer,
