He definitely felt something when he was watching her get ready, but that was the very beginnings of an attraction, definitely not enough to sustain a marriage. And the bandage tying today was very sweet but stemmed from a combination of guilt and compassion. He has said the wrong thing, misjudged her and is really a nice guy way deep down so he did the gentlemanly thing.
Poor Geet. It would have been fine if he hadn't heard what she said to Daadi. His feelings would have stewed gradually and he wouldn't have felt so much overwhelming pressure. If you notice, he didn't put this much pressure on himself to remember until Geet voiced her hopes. I think he has been seeing this thing as a big joke and treating Geet likewise but today he saw how deeply she is invested and it was just too much for him to take! No matter how much a guy likes a girl, he will run in the other direction if she talks marriage over their first cup of coffee and I think something similar is happening here.
It's not that he feels nothing, it's that he doesn't feel as much as he believes he should, according to Daadi and Dev's accounts, and definitely not enough to want to be married to Geet. But he does care. That was apparent when he really gave a thought to Geet's feelings and her welfare. He was really the essence of MSK today, needing to do the right and truthful thing, no matter if it hurt the people he loves, ie Daadi.
MSK likes to see the world as black and white, right and wrong, all or nothing. Geet is the opposite, lots of grey and colours (why she could forgive Dev, but that is a story for another day)! In this situation because MSK can't give all, he chooses to believe he feels nothing, rather than acknowledging a middle ground (which was what Geet was describing to daadi), that is, that he is slowly starting to have feelings for Geet, but maybe not soul-stirring, I am made for you-you are made for me, let's never be apart feelings just yet. As of now they are just wow, you look hot in that saree feelings. š
We are in for a lot of wonderful drama when he realises that everything doesn't happen the way you perceive it. Watching him develop and deny/acknowledge feelings for Geet after he has told her it can never happen will be just delicious! I just hope Geet has the good sense to know what is going on behind those sexy, conflicted eyes. The promo suggests that she probably will!
