I was away for the past two days and missed Monday and Tuesday's episodes. I just now had a chance to catch up on them. And I have to say I am loving the new direction of the main plot as well as the subplots. So as I just love making fun lists, I am making a list of things I am happy about with this new track!
1.The Dev and Nandini story finally has some direction and is showing a different story to the typical Maaneet stuff. They are bringing up new issues here, like maybe how all girls don't need to get married right away. Nandini is still doing her PhD! She was sassy to Lucky and expressed some feelings of her very own (not related to Dev) which was such a relief. I can like her now. Also Dev and Nandini were shown as part of the main plot rather than in their clueless bubble as usual. 👏👏👏
2. Adi is so cute with his bursts of jealousy and I kind of like that Lucky is slowly pushing him to the edge. Maybe he will break out and Lucky can play cupid, that is, show Adi how to get his girl (after all Preeto seemed so in love; he must have done something right!). But I wish they showed Lucky talking on the phone to Preeto sometimes, just for continuity and to remind us of his mature side and his long-term goals.
3. I didn't ever think I could love Daadi more but I totally do. She is such a babe! Of course she had multiple future-business-tycoons fighting for her heart! How could she not? I also love her involvement in trying to bring Geet closer to Maan.
4. I love how much Geet's work is being praised. Given the current circumstances I know it's a thin silver lining but I was so bored of seeing her become just "Maan's wife" that it is really refreshing to see her working and being recognised for her talent and intelligence (I know Daadi told Tandon to give her the project but he was impressed even before that).
5. The subtle way they are bringing about an awareness in Maan about the importance of Geet. No matter how much he tries to rationalise things away (the taveez), he can't seem to be around Geet without some discomfort. I think this is why he wants her away. She makes him uncomfortable in a way that he can't explain, but what does he know about dil-vil, pyar-vyar, bechara? I think he is shying away from this physical and emotional discomfort which he has come to associate with her.
So, yeah, these are some things that I am really happy with and can see loads of potential for. Looking forward to tonight's episode!
