I have been watching Geet and reading the forum for a few months now (I discovered both a little late because I wasn't in the country but have been catching up since!). I usually don't post because I find that some one has already said what I thought and I didn't really feel like I needed to. But after yesterday's episode I had some thoughts which I didn't find anybody expressing so here goes.
Have I been finding Geet's character annoying and immature lately? Yes. Especially during the whole "nahi main aapko maaf karungi or nahi main aapke saath jaungi" phase, but I sort of forgot about that completely once they reunited :) I have been reading a lot of negative feedback on Geet's character, which I think is justified to an extent but also a little harsh.
I thought Geet was perfectly right to stay back if she didn't feel right about leaving her Maasi's house on those terms and Maan respected that. Good. But it was stupid for Maan to "help" the way he did. It's like he doesn't trust her to sort things out for herself. I can kind of see why she is frustrated. He swoops in, buys their house, makes this grand plan to change them all and expects her to blindly believe that everything is going to be great because he is (HOT!) Maan Singh Kihurana? Arrogant much? I know he bought it because it was being sold anyway but he didn't have to go live there. He could have been like, "guys I saved your house. now you can keep it. you're welcome. I will be staying at a nearby super-luxury hotel, running my business, and supporting Geet in her endeavours to gain your favour until you are ready to forgive us". But no.
Finally, yesterday, Geet was trying to talk to Maan about why his plan wasn't going to work, and he completely ignored her and started having a "Mahiii moment". I love that he gets lost in the depths of her eyes or whatever but listening is key, Maan-sir. I totally get why she was irritated. I know I would have been.
So basically, Maan has some character flaws of his own and it doesn't do just to blame Geet. They both have major communication issues.
God, this turned out long and I still have more to say! I don't want to bore you unnecessarily but let me know if you do by chance want to read "In Geet's defense Part 2"/Other over-analytical ramblings. 😊
Thanks for reading!
