It is my experience that people generalise from their experiences, not many people can take a view from another person's shoes. So if somebody feels that geet is wrong and she should forgive maan, it is mostly because they ahve in their personal life made those compromises at some time or the other and their involvement with the character is so much that the moment they accept that the character is right and she should not forgive, it puts them in the wrong.

I have seen it happen in my family.

And again i become guilty of it because I am generalising from my own experience.
