Teji seems to be strict and a man of a few words, but I haven't seen him outright torturing pammi.. yes he doesnt defend her... and he is very harsh... but disrespectful? I dn't know.. give me an example

I find him disrespectful because he yells at her for no reason........pammi tells lucky why did he beat up a innocent man.....and teji tells her to shut up....Pammi meets a friend and she starts to talk with her.....Geet is wandering around......and Pammi still gets blamed for it......when it should have been the driver whom she have been yelled at...
and to finish it off....maan would have never fired the man after he begged and said that he is poor and needs the job.....maan is mean harsh....but he is heartless...i felt bad for the driver....when Teji took his job away.....that to because of what?? Did geet get hurt?? Did geet fall?? Geet came home in one piece.....he should care about the fact that nothing happened to her.....why yell at pammi when Geet is fine??
Pammi is always told to shut up...she can't ever talk.....Maan was harsh to geet....but he let her talk....he never tied geet's mouth.
Also, you said that Maan told geet that they are good for nothing right....yes he did because everytime he saw geet she always needed a sahara...or was crying......so of course he would say that....otherwise wasn't Sasha his head architect in his office?? Had he hated women to such a core...he would have never allowed women to work in his office....
why would he allow Sasha a girl to be his right had woman?? He trusted her...he didn't think she was good for nothing right?

And this is where our Maaneet will come in ..

Yes, extremely strange daughter....khud ki beti ko lad pyar do....kisi aur ki beti ko jootay maro.....bolne na do.....cut her wings.

No I think Maan tried to shut her up tooo... Geet was strong and always lashed back and shut him up instead!!!! Everyone has their levels of harshness in their personalities... I am bringing up the similarities.... and you are bringing up differences!! That's fine! I don't think either of us are wrong! But I still see a lot of old Maan in Teji... for too many reasons... his reserved ness, his habit of not talking too much but when he does talk, people stand up and listen! He respects Biji - she is a woman!!! He tries to intimidate Geet!! She is a woman!!! He even disrespects lucky!!! The point is he is a bully who throws people around who are weaker than him... thats exactly what Maan used to do... to his office people, even Geet's family!!!

Dh😛,
I have dancin shoes too around. I love that rhythm in my house. And my hubs has always felt it best to live independent of in-laws, but have lived with in-laws at vacation stretches, where love grows fonder, care becomes a big part of our lives...etc. Hearts become closer, only pointing to mine and mine situation only.😛 As my daughter grew, I had this pang, hoping that my in-laws would be living with us. Thrice a year they stayed a month long, with us and the rest in their own home.

As I said Behna .. double standards ... it's hard to change some people's views in this matter as well .. these norms have gone on for so long so it would be really great to see Maaneet do something for them to make them see the other side of the coin for once!!
Premi. .. I agree .. they do have many similarities when it comes to those aggressive traits and all .. just one difference is the fact being Maan respects Geet as his wife .. once he started falling for her and all he started changing for the better .. his feelings overpowered his aggressiveness in that state .. but his anger trait was always in him .. with which he has faulted many times...

well for one....Geet's family deserved his pushing around...
secondly he never pushed his office people yaar...the people that worked for him had loads of respect for him!! Adi loves Maan as his boss.....he never pushed anyone in his office...
Had he pushed and was mean to Sasha she would have never liked him....she was attracted to him.....hell all of the girls were attracted to him which was why he was called DD....he was just a strict boss nothing else...
next he never pushed sasha around....she was his right hand woman....whom he trusted a lot.....which was why he always listened to her....his attitude got harsh when he fell for geet.
and Maan loved Dev his brother but disliked his sister in law....
Maan said the two people important in his life are his dadi and brother....he told geet this the night of their engagement when geet finds out that Dev is Maan's brother...
Maan only kicked Dev out of the house due to his bad habits gambling.....

That is great... I have been a firm believer in that ever since I came out of my fantasy world!! But my situation is different.. .inlaws moved in with us from India... they depend on us! They are here because they want to live with us!! They can't start from scratch here.. it would defeat the purpose of them moving here! I would have enjoyed this freedom yet the bond and closeness! But not in this lifetime! :) it's okay! Things are not so bad.. my inlaws ARE progressive! They just have their own set of expectations! I have MIL who pretty much does everything around the house when I buried in the office... which is quite often!!
