This is my interpretation of the Friday scene where Geet burns her hand at the same time her picture gets partially scorched in fire.

My analysis
Geet lights the agarbatti
Symbol - Geet wanted to start her life afresh with Maan, a life full of fragrance, much like the agarbatti.
She takes time to put out the flame from the match
Symbol - She took time to tell Maan why she forgave Dev.
The delay caused her to burn her fingers
Symbol - Result she got burnt and scorched by Maan's hurtful words.
Meanwhile Maan goes searching for Geet with her photo in his hand when a gust of wind blow the photo away from his hand
Symbol - Geet was emotionally lost to Maan after the MC. He tries to get her back and searches for that elusive happiness with her. Fate in the form of his stormy temper blows her away from him. This time he lost her physical presence too.
The photo falls into the fire
Symbol - When Geet leaves him, her heart is even more heavy and their separation burns her. The intensity of the flames is more than the small flame which burnt her finger meaning that this separation which stemmed from Maan's harsh words is even more painful for Geet than his words.
Maan takes time to react before he runs and redeems the picture before it is completely burnt to ashes, unmindful of the heat that burns his own fingers in the process.
Symbol - After he realises that he lost her he took time going after her. He did not immediately spring into action but he will get there before it is too late and will be willing to go through the test of fire to get back his Geet and restore her honour and rightful place by his side.
