But when I watch GEET I watch it purely for entertainment and artistic values. What they show on the screen does not effect my values or believes.
call me Kiran! ๐ค
haha, i was going to agree with you on Geet not affecting my values or beliefs, but i'd be lying. it truly has altered my thinking. for one, it's gotten a poor NRI teen like me more involved with my Indian culture (don't worry, i don't think Geet defines Indian culture ๐ but it keeps me connected, ya know?) plus, it's made a big feminist out of me! people complain that the show has lost it's track...well, if the main character has gained happiness, why would she go around preaching the cruelty of men if she's found a man who's countered almost every feminists' argument? i say almost, cuz the man still has anger issues, and he tries to make up for it by being super sweet the rest of the time! ๐คฃ *sigh* I love Maan.
ah, sorry for that tangent. yes, some people preach, but i believe that Geet has done a LOT to display girl power, and now she's moving on with her life with her love: now THAT'S courage and independence.
PLUS. i took the SAT in December, and my essay prompt? modern heroes. we can write about ANYTHING, make it up even, as long as it proves our insight on the prompt. of course, Geet is always floating around in my mind, so i wrote about her initial story. i got a 10/12 on that prompt!! ๐ฒ i'm not usually a superstitious person, but i've noticed, whenever incorporate Geet into my education, i end up getting awesome results!! ๐คฃ๐คฃ who woulda imagined, eh?
