Kavi, Ram did a great job. The two situations were different. In KS, Jai did nothing wrong and yet was served a divorce notice by his wife because she had this great idea of saving his property from his sister and nephew by doing so. Inspite of that Jai was not bitter with his wife (though he did not know the real reason for her behaviour) and spoke so highly of her to his unborn. He had to be restrained in that scene. Here Maan was guilt ridden and hence had to break down. Both actors did as well as their scenes demanded of them.
