On New Year's Day, TOI gets celebs to share their POA...

Nagarjuna : I ended 2010 on a good note with "Ragada" turning out to be one of my biggest hits. In the new year I am very excited about "Rajanna", a semi periodic film set in British India. Rajamouli is choreographing two action sequences in the film and I am looking forward to seeing myself in a different role. Also ever since YSR died, the state has been in turmoil with natural calamities, political unrest et al. I am a Hyderabadi and I have never seen such bad times in the city. I hope this year, the new CM brings in peace, calm and progress in the state.

Tamannah : This year, I am doing two straight Telugu films, "Badrinath" with Allu Arjun and another with Naga Chaitanya which I have high hopes on. Besides, I am keen on a major family vacation in June. In 2010, my family went on a three-week tour to the US.This time too I plan a similar tour. Since my brother is a doctor and my father is busy with his business, this is the only time I get to spend with them and it is special for me.

Richa Gangopadhyay : I was blessed to have three big films in 2010 and in the new year I want to grow as an actor.I am also planning to focus on my fitness. I have not paid attention to exercise in 2010 as I was busy shooting. I got carried away with biryani and all the rich Telugu food. I will do hot yoga and kick boxing and strike a balance between work and exercise to keep myself in shape.

Saina Nehwal : This is the Olympics qualifier year, so I am really excited. I want to keep playing well and focus on every match that I set to play. Ranking is not something I am bothered about. I am sure I will get the top spot if I keep performing.

Vijender Singh : I don't make any resolutions because I believe in living for the moment and living it happily. I want 2011 to be a year which will keep me as happy as I have been. I am the kind of person who does not like tensions and worries. And of course, as far as boxing is concerned, I want to keep doing well, and hope that I get closer to getting the 'professional boxer' tag.

Priya Anand : I am doing a bi-lingual movie with Siddharth. We are shooting every scene in Telugu and Tamil which is a super learning experience. I am waiting for its release this year. Besides, I have decided to go back home (to the US) at least once in an year hereafter. Ever since I have started working three years ago, I have been to my parents only once. Hereafter, I will spend one month every year in the US, beginning 2011.

Gurmeet Choudhary : 2010 was a great year. I signed "Geet" and managed to break away from the image of Ram (from my previous show "Ramayana"). For me the portrayal of Mann in "Geet" has been a huge turning point. On the personal front, Debina and I shifted to our new place. I have some interesting projects coming up in 2011. Plus, Debina and I will tie the knot.

Ram : I want more releases this year. Now Tollywood's in a terrible state and I wish to see a huge increase in the success ratio of films in our industry. I took a break for a couple of months in 2010 and did everything I wanted to. So 2011 is going to be work, work and work for me.

Hansika : I have five films releasing in 2011 which makes it the busiest year for me. I will hardly have any time for myself. I have decided to dedicate this year to my fans and do as many movies as possible for them. I like being busy with work. However, the challenge will be in balancing my work and family time. I plan to draft a way to give quality time to my family this year.

Mithali Raj: I don't have any resolutions but yes, I hope this year, I score heaps of runs for India. I also pray for good health and safety for my family, friends and myself.

Kamilini Mukherjee : On the personal front, I am looking forward to my sister joining college. On the professional front, I am looking forward to completing my script in 2011. I am writing a script for a friend who wants to make a Hindi film. I have been writing it since several months now and I hope to complete it. I am also looking forward to doing a film in Bengali, my mother tongue, which is pending for a long time.

Taapsee : This should be a year where I learn the languages I work in. Learning languages will make my work simpler and tje audience should hear my voice when they see me on screen. I also plan to travel outside the country at least once and take a break from work. I have been working continuously and I need this break.

Mary Kom : I want a repeat of all the achievements that I've had in 2010. I want to leave the losses behind and move ahead. My kids have also started their playhouse and I am excited about seeing them in their school uniforms.

Jwala Gutta : I have had a mixed year but I am happy. If there was personal turmoil, there have also been professional highs. I just hope that the coming year is good to me professionally and personally. I have finally proved myself and gained recognition because of my game. I want my game to continue to do the talking for me.

Jackie Shroff : I want to do good films in 2011 and have the continued love of my fans. I wish that people give more care and thought to children who are orphans. I want to do something more for these kids, their education and food.

Ashwini Ponnappa : I want to get organized on my daily routine and have less injury. I really want to take care of myself. I want to do well in the upcoming tournaments.

Manoj Bajpayee : All my films should do well and be appreciated in 2011. I want a peaceful life for my family and myself and I also wish a peaceful life to the world.

Mishal Raheja : The year 2010 was exceptionally good for me. I never expected my character, Dutta Patil, in "Laagi Tujhse Lagan" to become so poular. Of course, I expect 2011 to be better. And for that, I'm willing to work harder than what I'm doingnow. Name, fame and money apart, I've made a resolution to give more time to my family and fulfill my parents' various wishes. That apart I'll work harder towards my Bollywood dream.

Smilie Suri: I'd like my Hindi film colleagues to get more punctual and professional and more organized. I'd love for new scripts n more experimental roles and scripts to be churned out so that more space and opportunity can be created for talent, like it is in Hollywood. I'm sure that in 2011 lots of new directors and scripts and talent will get their dues! As Smilie the actor my resolution for myself is to get fit and be in good shape in mind.,body and soul, and not get restless and to do great work!

Dino Morea : I hope this year brings me lots of goodness. I want all my business ventures to rock. I also wish my first film production be a success that I hope to get more film offers.

Srikanth : In 2010, I got the Nandi Award and I am happy. But 2010 has been bad for Tollywood producers as there were massive flops.I have five films lined up in 2011 with intense performance orietned roles. I will plan my movies in this year depending on my budgets without going overboard. I am also going to playthe role of Laxmana, in "Sri Rama Rajyam" with Balakrishna in the lead. This is the first time that I am going to work with him and I am looking forward to it.

Sara Khan : I didn't expect 2010 to be such a big hit for me. My show, "Sapna Babul Ka... Bidaai" did well and ended on a high. My stay in "Bigg Boss 4" was much talked about, plus I got married! But I expect 2011 to be bigger and better for me in terms of work because personally I'm in a happy space. I want to do better shows and god willing, they will be as popular as my previous ones.

Rashmi Desai: I had an amazing 2010 personally and professionally. I kept myself busy learning new things. Everyday, with every scene, I've tried to enhance my acting skills. I got the opportunity of a lifetime to work and share screen space with someone whom I've admired from my childhood— Salman Khan. I'm really looking forward to 2011 and hopefully it will be even better than 2010. Plus India will be hosting the Cricket World Cup, so it's exciting.

Vishnu Manchu: 2011 is special for me because my movie' "Vasthadu Naa Raju" will release. I am producing it.This is the first movie for me as a producer. I am going to entertain and I am also hoping that I will be entertained with loads of new plans and surprises.

As told to Prashant Bhat, Rupam Jain & Sarah Salvadore
