"Love is a powerful emotion that brings out the best and the beast in you".
Today's episode was mind blowing piece of work for me. I am amazed at how intimately the creatives have managed to capture the strong powerful emotion behind characters like Maan and Geet. Both are extremely sensitive about everything associated with their lives, be it their family, be it their work, be it their love. They express themselves in the most vocal way possible. We have been witness to the their passionate romance, we have been witness to their unrelenting bickering, we have been witness to their extreme anguish and pain, but today we were witness to their passionate anger/ego-clash (for the lack of a better word), which was out of this world.
Today's depiction to me truly stands by the characters of Maan and Geet sketched by the creatives. This is why I say, the devil is at work in everyone. Flaws exist in all humans and everyday is a battle between the irrational devil and the rational self!! So today was just the day the devil which was harboring close to the surface, decided to rush out of the senses in every way possible!! And we witnessed the best depiction of ego/clash surmounting to anger between the two!!
People will have a problem with the public display of the whole spectacle. I would just say to them, that when two people are this angry and upset to this extent (remember its at the end of the spectrum here) with each other you don't see whether you are in the privacy of the bedroom or the public of the boardroom, you just get your emotions out. Nothing stops you, you let it all out. The anger multiplied at each and every stage.
Every sequence was a perfect flow, leading to the final drama…first Geet was angry seeing Dev out on bail, she comes takes that frustration out (she doesn't realize the boardroom around), by which time the deed is done. Maan loses it cause here he was fighting for her cause by making her the 51% partner but she just wants to make a spectacle about the whole dev bail situation that too in front of all the board members, despite all the warnings he gives…leads the devil to win in him slowly. Here he doesn't realize that Geet doesn't know about the board members. When the board members walk out, Geet realizes her mistake..and we have the "Oh God what did I do dialogue", but then since she knows no other way out…she tries to walk out. Maan doesn't allow..for his ego has been pricked with the marriage refusal…and that leads to the whole Maan handling. Geet who is already ticked off…and now guilty about the spectacle she created…wants to just go hide…which Maan will not allow, enraging Geet further.. which makes her lose it and push him. At this point, we see Maan weakening bit by bit…he tries to resolve what is left of the situation by dragging her to the office to talk, but Geet is already enraged by the whole Maan-handling…guilt about pushing…making it public,….she just wants to be left alone…and then out MSK, who thinks he is God…doesn't help with his dialogues…One after another…they do nothing but point it out to her that he has always helped her out. (yes his intentions not to show how great he is, but that he is doing everything to just to keep her happy and protect her) but the way and the time at which these dialogues are delivered don't help Geet but feel like this helpless doe…worth less than a penny who cannot do anything without Maan's help. She is hurt…(so now we have hurt, anger, guilt) she tells him a big thank you for all the previous help and is that the reason why he is marrying her as well (that is ego speaking here). Obviously he is shattered to hear that (remember he has hurt, anger and now rising ego) and his ego speaks and says he doesn't feel necessary to answer this question. That just multiples the worsening situation n-fold and we have Geet just wanting to get out of this situation (classic female behavior), in the process of her desperately making the attempt (desperation to get out, but Maan is hurt but still wants to hold on) the taveez breaks. Now when Maan sees the taveez break, he cannot help but remember the time when it was put and the promises made alongside.. and the irony of evening in the light of today's situation. He gives up (here when he has been trying hard to hold on, she just wants to leave, so be it, read resignation) and lets go of her hand. This translates to Geet feeling "Oh, so you want to leave me and just let me go…fine", she says " I will leave" (read hurt, anger, pain, ego again). Maan feels "what the heck, is this all she understands of all that I have been trying to say, fine I will help her out!!" and drags her out of the office!!
Now as fate would have it, like all realistic situations, we have the reporters waiting to hound them once they are out. Geet is feels "Who the hell are you to make me feel so small, dragging me out like this in front of the entire office,!!" and we have her say "He is marrying me only to save his brother, no matter what who supports me or not, I will fight this battle myself", that's the last straw that breaks the camels back, Maan is like "Oh..you don't want me anymore…you think you are that independent..fine go and show me how you can live by yourself!!"
And lo' behold..we have the couple separate…!! The last scene, the last look before they walk the unthreaded paths of loneliness…wonderful, brilliant. It portrays precisely that the couple would feel, they don't want to go, but too much has been said and done…and you still have the Devil speaking to your brain…, it's the last effort made by the rational self to try to make amends, but as always the Devil wins and the couple walks out on each other.
Extraordinary, something I would have never imagined…for today was a part of my life…relayed to me perfectly like I had it happen in the past!! Brilliant acting by GC and DD and kudos to the creatives..!! Especially the taveez breaking scene and the emotion displayed by GC "This is it, is this what we have come to??" Outstanding!!
And trust me when I say the un-threaded paths have lots to anticipate!!
