Nahi, that's not a khada. It's just a design, which sort of resembles a khanda. More of an up-side-down khanda.

Someone had posted this earlier on this forum...it's a pic of Dhrashti's mom and I assumed she was a Sikh because her mom is wearing a Khanda...I could be wrong...maybe she's a mix

I think she is Gujju when they were showing Rakhi segment on SBB...she went to her nanaji and she touched his feet for his ashirwad we as punjabi never do...girls never touch any body's feet except her in laws ...it is not common in punjabis...I am not sure though I have not seen in my family.

She is very pretty and she does have Gujrati look...anyway ki fark painda hai yaaro...😉Punju yaa Gujju.

This must be the nth post on Dhrasti's origins...earlier we had ones on Gurti's origins....still no concrete answer.

This has to be the biggest mystery since the sighting of the Yeti!

How come it's so difficult to get the answer? I once asked the Help desk and they told me she was Gujrati...now they say she's Punjabi.

From what I can make out from seeing her family and the way her aunt spoke, she seems to be a Gujju.

But, since that isn't a conclusive answer, the mystery continues.

Btw, the some other famous Dhamis' , one a famous writer, has a Punjabi first name....

Now the mystery deepens!!😆

Yeah she is a punjabi because of her surmane "Dhami". Besides her both role of DMG and Geet is of Punjabi girl's role.😊

i think shes hindu-punjabi.. not sikh

her last name is punjabi an she speaks like a punjabi, but her family (which was seen in SBS segements) does not look sikh-punjabi OR gujju.

So i believe she is a hindu-punjabi

Initially I also thought that DD is sikh due to her accent on the serial. I am a gujju and after seeing her family on SBS I was definately sure that she is a gujju. The looks, accent, the atmosphere, etc. of all her family members is similar to any gujju family in B'bay/gujarat. Even the clothing of her family (especially her grandparents, who never change, is typical gujju and reminded me so much of my own grandparents).
With regards to DD being able to speak in a typical punjabi accent, that shows that she is a very good actress just like Sanjivkumar who was a gujarati bania from surat or Asha Parekh or Nirupa Roy for that matter.

😆..arre yaar i have said it before too...but ppl just wont believe me...i know personally that she is a gujju

but when i said this...they come with research on last names...and where and in which cast they are found....some last names are common in most of the regions of India...u dont have to do internet research on that...u just have to live a lifetime in a country😊

I'm sorry, I understand that you're trying to tell us that she's Guju and people are trying to search stuff online. I don't see what's wrong with it. There are plenty of people out there who say things but that doesn't necessarily mean that what they say is true. I'm not trying to say you're lying but the fact is, there is no reason for us to believe you. Unless, obviously, you give us some proof.
I posted some "proof" that goes with what you're saying. Theres a difference between saying and showing. Besides, you only know what you experince. Many of us don't live in India and from what we know and have experienced, we only see "Dhami" as a Punjabi/Jatt lastname. Thus, internet research is essential to find out about things we have no knowledge of. Thank you very much!
