Remember this was NOT the initial script, but they HAD to do something FAST
GC got sick first and was hospitalized then DD got sick a day or two after.
If CVs and Nissar could not have thought about "natural disaster" occurring on their own, hmm... yuh think that they would have learn from when GC was sick with malaria.
Here are a few routes which I will highlight that Geet tean could have taken,
1. Work GC's illness in: Geet rtns on time for engagement party, but suddenly Maan passes out and has to be rushed to the doctors (we all know Maan does not take of him self, so his illness can be strong enough to put him in a temporary coma, but not life threatening) this would have given GC time and take less camera time off leads.
2. Then they could have focused on NT continuing on her plot to take over Khurana Fortune that nevermind Maan's convo run her out to Canada that won't stop her. While NT self talks, Dev's sister over hears her saying that Geet is pregnant with Dev's child (why because and this has to do with taking into account the general audience, TRPS, they creatives, may be faced with choice on who to and if to proceed with pregnancy; so this gives them another way to back Geet up because we all know the Dev's sister does not have a lock on her mouth). This would also give them a chance to bring in Dev' s mom, see her daughter worried for the first time, would want to know what's wrong. Keep in mind that Dev and NT are not the only two culprits that commit the crimes against Geet. The four of them deserves punishment not only Dev and NT. As a mother, Dev's mother should have not part take that one sin that she committed wipes out her entire good as a mother because what she did was not the good of anyone. Regardless of the fact that she at times did not participate.
3. The had Dev and Myra: good kat fight, no minds (of course when NT finds out) she represents the devil anyway why not add to her plate).
4. There is the Vicky angle.
I won't continue because the above is enough for them to work with, keep TRP, move the story forward without butchering it up and making their leads stupid.
As a scriptwriter and a director you always have to keep in mind that uncertainty happens in life. They fact that this particular team was faced with it once before and did not take any precautions to help them in the future should any other unforeseen circumstances occur.
For Geet to believe NT is a sin. Who would believe anyone who has committed such crimes against them. It is just stupid and without justification. The CVs made her love so weak, so water thin, when prior it wasn't. They did not continue to weave the story along the same line there is no coherrence.
Just because the acting was good doesn't make the story good.
Their last few episodes showed that they just wanted to fill a void.
In any business you always have to have a back up plan. They can bank for a day or two in advance without losing.
