Heyy guys!!! For those of you who are online, here is my analysis.
"Aab keh bhi do naa!" – from Geet to MaanHello everyone!! So I was in a dilemma with today's epi. But after watching it a second time, I have a better perspective.
The beginning was good. Geet and Maan both reflect on the previous night. Now Geet is aware that there is a difference in Maan when she says, for the first time he has used the word "taqdir". Geet knows that Maan did not believe in destiny but something has brought on this change. She has a feeling that she has something to do this change. So, many of you probably had a problem with the fact that she questions if she might me imagining all this. I don't think this was meant to be taken in a literal sense. This was just her brainstorming. I think unconsciously she has no doubts that he has feelings for her and just does not know how to express it. If she had any doubts that he loves her she wouldn't have said, "meri ek atit hai, mujhe unhe saab saach bata dena chahi". She is moving towards telling him the truth. This is a slow process they are taking, because Geet also needs to prepare herself for his reaction. Her heart knows he loves her, but the logical part of her mind wants a sealed confirmation from Maan. Remember Geet does not have room for any heart break, therefore she must be 100% sure that he returns her feeling. The moment she is sure, she will tell him her past. She is not a "tubelight" guys…she is being smart. She can't allow herself to get hurt. She has already been through too much. Like I said, yesterday, she will. Begin putting the pieces together and she did today. We saw her reflect on all things he has said. Be a little patient, its coming very soon. Yes I know we've waited long enough. I was a bit impatient with the epi when I saw it the first time. But then Geet's behavior in the office with Maan changed my mind.
I've never talked about Maan's view on the engagement. We all know that to Maan this engagement is real. Yesterday's epi was full proof of that. Dadi asks do you really accept Geet as your fiance if so why haven't you gave her the ring. He didn't answer dadi, but he gave the answer by putting the ring on Geet. I've also noticed that he never tells himself that he has accepted that fact. This is because he is waiting for Geet's confirmation. He is afraid of her rejection; hence he will not declare it to himself yet.
I did not like it when Geet told Maan that he was only worried about the ring and that's why he wanted to drive her to work. Really?! This was not Geet's character at fault here, but rather the dialogue writer's (Barry Dhillon). Geet knows Maan better than this and should not say such things to the person she loves. This was the same as when Maan said "bechari" to her. She knows that she means more to Maan and that he has always had her best interest at heart. So why would she say something like that to him? Please make sure that every single line that you write has the characters integrity and mind embossed on it. Otherwise you will make the character lose their color. Now with all that said, I also saw the frustration Geet had in that line. She was attempting to provoke him to tell her if he thought she was her secretary or fiance.
I loved that Geet was so adamant on getting an answer out of Maan today. The authority she has over him is great in their office convo. If this was seen a week or two ago, Geet would never have grabbed the file and phone out of his hand. Their relationship has grown huge deal. This is what saved the epi for me. Otherwise I would have been hugely disappointed today with Geet if she was still ignorant about his feelings. This scene tells us that Geet wants a clear cut answer from him. She can sense he is afraid to admit his feelings, that's what the line "Aap ha raise sawal se peeche kyun hatte, jise apke man ki jhalak dekhi" says. This is where her hesitation comes from. How can she tell him everything if he is afraid to tell him how he feels? She is trying to push him to tell her now.
Today, Maan has given her another piece of the puzzle, when he says "hum". She is one step closer to figuring al this out. Remember he was the one who said there is no "hum" between us and today he's the one who has recertified that there is, one again making them a couple. They keep getting deeper and deeper in the relationship and their engagement is becoming more real each day.
Today Naintara has proven to be worse than I thought she was. Which is lower than low. She is leaving Dev to take all the blame, when she is at fault too; the true sign of a coward. Is it me or does anyone feels like Dev is right when he says that she really isn't going and has a hidden agenda? I definitely think so. Do any of you honestly believe that she will just leave like that without unleashing new wraith? …Very unlikely. But now Dev has resolved to tell Maan about what he did. Will he really be to tell him or will the truth come out before he is able to. I think Dev will back out. Something will trigger him to change his mind. I guess we will have to wait for that.
Maan and Geet "pyar kya hai" convo – This was a great scene. I liked that Maan ignores Sasha completely. The way he looks at Geet, shows that he is trying very hard to get an answer from her expressions rather than her words because he knows that she will not reveal much. I love the fact that they both ask each other what loves means to the other. Maan ask her indirectly "Do you need my love in your life...is it that important?" She fire's the same question back at him and he backs off. It signifies that Geet wants some sort of confirmation from her first then she will reveal everything to him. Now how long will they play this game? Not much longer, the revelation about Geet's past is very near and their confession is on the way.
One thing we should all be sure of today is that Geet is Maan's first love. So anyone who had any thought about Sameera along those line can scratch that. Lol Aren't we all happy to know that Geet is Maan's first love? This explains his hesitation in telling her his feelings. He doesn't really know how to tell a girl that he loves her. He says that he knows nothing about love. Maan indirectly asks her to teach him how to love. What I really enjoyed about that part was that, he was so sure that she knew what love was and asks her to tell him. He knows that she loves him. That's why he kept asking her to tell him the meaning of love. Also the word "pyar" is seldom used between these two. Usually it's referred to as "ehsaas". They won't use "pyar" until they have confessed. Until the confession they won't know that what they feel is love. I don't think that they know what they feel for each other is love, but they know that the other person has a lot of meaning in their life, and that without each other they are incomplete.
I'm not going to talk about the "Pyar ki nishani" bungalow today. We have more to see on the real significance on that. Don't have that much time now so will talk about it another time.
Precap – Don't want to say much here. But I like how she went to the office as his secretary but left as his mangetar. It shows that there has been some level of understanding between them regarding their feelings. Also Geet is finally beginning to accept that she is really his fiance.
I get why many of you are disappointed with today's epi.
Everyone was expecting something a little better after yesterday's mind-blowing episode. But every episode has significance and moves the story forward in some way. Today we saw that Geet has finally resolved to get Maan to admit his feelings.
Over all a good episode, but could have been better.
