The sequence of the scenes should be: Her realization, then her fear, revelation of past, and then the thought is she special (Even if Mann accepts her past ... he'll still be unsure about her true feelings for him), and then the complete confession from both. Even if she is special ... she cannot reciprocate absolutely ... you end-up playing with a man's feelings.
