My Take on Today's Episode:Today I am gonna take the technical analysis at a later time.
First and foremost, I wanna deal with the emotional aspect of the tale. Today for the first time perhaps CVs have concentrated on "Loss"
How one feels when one is losing something precious to them. How tough it is to let go of the one thing in your life that you want to hang on to. But have to let go, due to factors that are beyond your control.
The choices are thrust on you where you have to run as staying would perhaps lead to more hurt and pain. It is not that you are not prepared for that pain, but it is the realization that it is not your pain alone but that it is also the pain of your loved ones.
You think you are protecting them by walking away but then your conscience keeps on pricking you whether it is the right thing that you are doing or if your choice is causing more havoc and more destruction than you have originally envisaged.
But all that you know is to traverse the path that you have chosen because you feel that there is no turning back and that the clock has run and that time did not leave you many options to chose from.
Today, I felt the pain that Geet is going through. The pathos!
Pain is all that is left for me
A river that floats
sinking everything in its flow
leaving nothing behind
not even the remnants
Geet seems to be silently weeping, silently screaming her distress, silently praying for deliverance.
I somehow feel that these tragic times may recede in the day's to come once Maan realizes that it is not that she wants to go away from him BUT that she feels she has no choice.
And to change "HER CHOICE" is ONLY within his hands. That is the true confession from his side. That is the test of love for which he has to withstand.
The fact of the matter is that for both Maan and Geet one day will come when they realize that "going away (in her case)/walking away (in his case)" are more painful and hurting than "staying together" with all the problems that are there in their past and that they might face in their future as what will sustain them is their immense love and care for each other.
Today's episode sort of laid the foundation for Maan to start questioning the "why" as to "why she wants to avoid him" not just "why is she avoiding him"
Technical AspectsEditing: Had some minor jinks but overall a 6/10. It was smooth.
Music: Again no comments here as I think we've beaten the subject well over to death but I would still rate it at 6/10 because of the effort they are putting in into their orchestration and the different ideas they are trying out though with their signature tune intact. [Here I want to add one note. The "Signature Tune" is something that cannot be changed but can be played around with gradually, which they are doing. I think we need to cut some slack for them here as they are trying to do different things with it and making it more orchestra oriented rather than voice based. But fully instrumental will not work at some instances. They are yet to hone in on the aspect of "how much" of usage is "over much". But I am sure they are working out a mechanism as we are seeing a lot of change in the past few days]
Cinematography: Brilliant and eclectic job. The soft light and shadows they use in some of the scenes doth remind me of some unique experiments in light of the Italian film makers. A 9/10.
Acting Drahsti really gets a 10/10 from me today for spotless portrayal of pain, longing and silent suffering.
Sound/Dubbing: Good and clean. They have improved in this division by leaps and bounds compared to some episodes. A 6/10
Direction Today the flow was well managed. But I give a 6/10 as I feel the Dev, Naintara individual scenes as well as their combination scenes could have been better directed. As also Pari's scenes lacked that zip.
Script: Here I give a 5/10 because I felt that some parts were not that well scripted and were sort of a rush job.
Final Conclusions
The one key sentence for me in today's episode is Maan saying that "no one walks away from him by their choice" and that it is "his choice" as to who stays or goes. So, that is where the story lies and the CVs seem to be implying that in a future course of action, whether MAAN will decide in favor or NOT of Geet. This was the one crucial future plot that is left open ended for us to speculate.
Overall
Overall I feel the episode was polished though it is not a completely finished product and nor is it sensational. I rate the overall episode at 8/10 despite all the hiccups because of the fact that they dealt a lot on exploring the emotional aspect today and did not just try to move the story forward but gave justice to the "SUBJECT".Edited by bDgT - 15 years ago
