Great scene with a look inside the sleazy minds of the 2 devils - they have no regrets or remorse at all. Even though I am against men raising their hands on women - I wouldn't mind MSK giving one of his signature punches to NT.

As the sun streamed into the room the next morning, Geet woke up with a big smile on her face. She had the most beautiful vision of Maan not only proposing to her but also proclaiming that his love for her remained undiminished even after she told him of her tarnished past. She was convinced that this could only have been a dream as she knew it was too good to be true. Nevertheless she was happy to have had such a wonderful dream. She turned over on her pillow and was surprised to see Dadima sleeping beside her. She got up with a start.
'Where am I?' she asked herself as she quickly got out of her bed and looked around. She soon recollected the events of the night before and realised she was in the Khurana House. She was here to take care of an ailing Dadima. As her personal effects were still in the outhouse, she decided to go there for a few minutes to freshen up. As she stepped out the room, she bumped into Maan who stood in front of her with a new set of tooth paste, tooth brush, soap and towel in his hand.
"Geet, you may need these. You can freshen up here now and return to the outhouse later. I think Dadima may like to see you around when she wakes up."
Geet nodded her head and accepting the toiletries from him she went back to Dadima's room. Just as she came out of the washroom after a few minutes, she saw Dadima stir in her bed. She scurried to be by her side.
"Good morning Dadima, how do you feel now?"she asked with concern as she helped her to sit up.
"Good morning Geet, betta. I am feeling better than yesterday but still a little weak," she said in a feeble voice.
Geet helped her to the washroom and brought her back. Just then Maan knocked at the door and asked if he could come in.
"Come in, Maan," said Dadima.
"Good morning Dadima. Are you feeling better?"
"Yes," she nodded but her face showed that she was still upset about the previous night. "I never thought that this day will come when I have to hang my head in shame."
She then looked at Geet uneasily, not wanting to discuss her family problems in front of her. Geet took the cue and excused herself saying that she will get Dadima's breakfast.
As she stepped out of the room she overheard Dadima ask Maan, "Maan, who is this girl who Dev duped?"
Geet rushed back into the room before Maan could say anything and called out to him.
"Maan Sir, someone is at the door looking for you."
Maan excused himself and accompanied her out of the room.
Once they were out of ear shot, Geet told him not to tell Dadima that she was Dev's victim.
"Remember, the doctor asked us not to subject her to any stress as it is not good for her in her present condition," she gently reminded him.
Maan nodded his head and went back to Dadima to assure her that it was the courier guy at the door but Nakul has already collected the letter on his behalf. He then told Dadima that the girl who was duped by Dev was a distant relative of one of his clients.
Geet who had paused near the door to make sure Maan did not reveal her identity to Dadima, heaved a sigh of relief and hurried to the kitchen to get Dadima's breakfast.
Meanwhile, Dadima wanted to know how he came to know of the truth.
Maan did not know what to say. He hated to lie to her like this but at the same time knew that given her fragile condition, the truth would be far too painful for her to digest, especially since she was so fond of Geet. He hesitated for a few minutes, while his mind was busy trying to come up with a story which may sound plausible to her.
"Yesterday, after settling all official matters, my client and I were generally discussing over tea, the socio-political fabric of our country. During the course of our conversation, he mentioned that many Indians still have a fascination for anything 'foreign' despite India's economic progress in recent years. Several families, particularly in states like Punjab, are enthusiastic about getting their daughters married to NRIs. Many such marriages fail because the so-called rich NRI grooms loot the wealth of their brides and leave them on the lurch or take them along with them to work as servants to their first wives/lovers. To illustrate his point, he gave the instance of one of his distant relatives who was duped by a Canadian businessman. Since Dev has lived in Canada and holds a Canadian citizenship, I asked him for more details of this fraudster so that I can get Dev's help to track him down. Little did I expect that Dev himself was the man in question. I asked a few more exploratory questions to confirm that it was indeed Dev and not someone else. After I heard the names of Naintara and Pammi maasi, I knew it was him."
Feeling guilty about her grandson's deed, Dadima wanted to know what became of the poor hapless girl after Dev left her behind.
"A friend of my client, who always harboured feelings for this girl, has offered to marry her even after knowing about her past, for he still loves her."
Geet, who was walking back to Dadima's room in a thoughtful mood, was jerked back to the present by Maan's words. She froze in her footsteps at the entrance to the room. So it was not a dream after all. Maan did indeed propose to her the previous night, she thought to herself. Her hands started trembling as both excitement and nervousness coursed through her body. When she slowly entered the room, she heard Dadima ask Maan whether the girl accepted the marriage proposal.
Maan turned to look at Geet with his eyebrows raised in query. Understanding his unspoken question, Geet gave a brief nod.
"Yes, Dadima. She has agreed." Maan said happily. "I guess they will be married soon."
Dadima sighed in relief hearing this. She knew it would not lessen her grandson's sin in any way but at least it was some consolation to know that the girl was finally getting some happiness in her life.
Taking the breakfast plate from Geet's hand she said, "I am happy for the girl."
She then looked up at Geet meaningfully and lamented, "Everyone seems to be getting married except my grandson, who is not even ready for an engagement."
Geet blushed a deep red as she heard Maan pipe in excitedly, "Why waste time on an engagement, Dadima? Geet and I want to tie the knot as soon as possible. We are waiting for you to get well soon."
Hearing this Dadima broke into a broad grin. "Really Maan? You know how happy I am to hear this. I think this is the best medicine you can give me."
She then pulled Geet to sit beside her and placing her hand on top of her head, she gave her blessings.
Geet volunteered to feed Dadima and as she fed her, Maan fixed his eyes lovingly on the two women whom he loved the most. Once Dadima finished her breakfast and had her medicines, Maan excused himself, saying he wanted to make an urgent call. Sensing what he may be up to, Geet told Dadima she wanted to speak to Maan about something important and rushed out behind him.
"Maan, Sir," she called out to him as Maan was busy punching a number on his cell.
Maan turned to look back at her and smiled, saying, "I think you need to drop the Sir from my name, now that we are getting married."He turned his attention back to the cell, "Hello, is this the police station?"
Before he could continue, Geet sprang to his side and snatching the cell from his hand, she cut short the call.
Maan looked at her in surprise wondering what has come over her.
"Maan, Sir" she started but seeing him glare at her she corrected it to "Maan." Looking at him directly in the eye she said, "You cannot call in the police right now."
"Why?" asked Maan puzzled. "I thought you wanted justice and so do I."
"I do want justice but the timing is not right. Dadima is still unwell. If the police comes in right now, it would soon be known that I am the victim. Would Dadima be able to bear another shock? Moreover, as I was returning from the kitchen with Dadima's breakfast, I passed by Dev's room and overheard Naintara telling him that her uncle has already made necessary arrangements for an anticipatory bail. Even if they are arrested now they will be out in no time once the bail comes through."
"So are we to just sit quiet and let the culprits go scot free?" asked Maan agitatedly, clenching his fist in frustration.
"No, Maan. We need to be careful and watchful. I have thought a lot about this last night. We need to let both Dev and Naintara think they are winning. As of now the only evidence against them is my testimony. I do not have any other evidence to support my case. Yes, I have been told that I can take a sample of the DNA of my unborn baby and get Dev's sample to match with it but Dev is not going to volunteer for it, would he? Moreover, there is also a risk in taking the sample when the baby is still within the womb. I don't want to subject my baby to that risk. Whether we like it or not a court battle is going to be ugly and from what I have seen of Naintara and Dev, they will make sure they drag the whole family honour to the ground. Our priority now is Dadima's health and I don't want to do anything to jeopardise it, especially when our chances of success is so slim."
Maan was amazed by Geet's wisdom which was far beyond her years.
"But Geet, how will you get your closure if Dev is not locked up? Now that we are getting married, how could you bear to see him in the same house? "
"Don't worry, Maan. I am a strong girl, I'll handle it. There are several ways to punish him and I'll make sure his life is a living hell," she said with conviction.
"I am with you on this, Geet. You are right. We need to make the duo think they are safe. That way they may get careless and make mistakes. Once we have foolproof evidence against them and Dadima is strong again, we will get them arrested."
Geet nodded her head in agreement.
