Let's see!! Here's my list of why?:
1.Maneet chemistry...kudos to gurti!!
2.Maan's hotness, angry young man avatar, which is very rare in the TV medium! Most men are playing lover boys, cool dudes, or ideal sons! He's playing an unperfect rich man who for some reason hates most of the world! Also as my mom pointed out his deep voice is so soothing to listen to!! He's got a man's voice!! Plus, he's a hottie...the main attraction!! I think if he were replaced the show would fall flat! Plus the most expressive eyes ever...he never has a wooden face or expression!
3.Geet's innocent and cuteness! She's one of the few characters on Tv that one can realte too! She grows from a meek submissive girl to a strong confident woman! Something we all struggle w/during her high school years! Instead of dealing w/an abusive family we have to deal w/bullies and peer pressure and she had to deal w/social obligations! Also she came from humble beginnings and decided to mkae a name for herself. Her sturggle is the struggle of a modern independent woman! That's why so many ppl not living in India watch this show! I mean my cousin and I watch this b/c geet is more relatable than let's say Ragini or Akshara! Plus Geet is so adorable...you just can't help but root for her!!
4. The writing...it's so refreshing and different! the scenes may seem repetitive, but never once did I feel a scene was "seen that done that" kind of scene! Also Gurti chemistry makes every scene worth the watch! Plus, the CVs are keeping the show at a good pace...actually it's the perfect pace! It's not being rushed or going at a snail's pace!!
5. ALL the ACTORS on this CAN ACT!!!! That's something new, but not every show has that factor! I don't want to name name b/c ppl get offended! But there are some shows were initially the actors can't act and they improve as the show goes on! I think some ppl know which populat StarOne show I'm talking about(its actors faced a lot of criticism initially)! But the makers of the show found the perfect cast! Even minor roles like adi, pinky, tasha are good actors...they always remain in character and have perfect body language!!
6. Visualization and picturization! I think all the visuals on the show is a feast for the eyes! Like the HUG, the way the Kurbaan dance was done and picturized! The way they zoomed on his eyes in yesterdays episode! The way when maan throws the dupatta on geet and it lands on her head and she's looking like a dulhaan and she slowly lowers her, and the camera captures maan in the background too!! very well picturized and captured! there are so many instances like this...my list for go on and on!!
7. The comedy...it's not mindless and over the top, but there's hints of every now and then so the show isn't a typically rona dhona type of serial!!
8. realism...so much of it! so many social issues raised in this show! And issues that are real..not some stupid 100 year raaz or something, but issues affecting women!
9. Lastly, geet isn't someone who takes everything thrown at her and cries all day long! Yeah she cries, but she also fights back! She makes mistakes and learns from them and gets stronger! I swear, i can't take it when women just tolerate all bad behavior and cry all day long...seriously get up and do something and geet has time and time again done that!!
This is why Geet is able to gather such high TRPs in such a short time span!!
