here we go with the next update..!!!! part 46...!!

there are a couple of assumptions i have made in this part. i assumed that geet is around 4 1/2 months pregnant !!! well it could have been more or less, but i'd just to like to stick with this...!!! this would only matter if you go into details specifically. but if you just read the update for fun and want to see how the track proceeds then ignore this note..!!!!

and btw, the number of kisses in the last update was 12. Febin counted and told me...!!!! 😆

Part 46

It was 8am, Tuesday morning and geet was still sleeping. Pinky came into her bedroom with the phone in her hand and said, "geet, tera wake up call!"

"pinky ki bacchi tumhe kaam nahi hai kya? Jao mujhe sona hai. Aur waise kaun ullu itni subeh subeh phone kiya".

Pinky had not covered the receiver of the phone and maan heard everything both of them were speaking.

He laughed when pinky told geet about her wake up call and got angry that geet had called him a "ullu". "How dare she?" He thought

Pinky suppressed a laugh and said, "geet ullu nahi, mere jeeju ka phone hai. Uto" and started laughing.

Geet woke up as though some one had thrown cold water on her face.

"kya? Maan ka phone hai?pehle nahi bata sakti. Aur yeh kya tumne receiver ko cover bhi nahi kiya. Ab mera band bajayega woh" and snatched the phone.

"geet tu bilkul pagal hai. Agar maine haath nahi lagaya tuo tu laga sakti thi na. wiase the damage is done. Baat kar ab" and walked away laughing.

"geet! Tum dono ki argument katham ho gayi?" asked maan.

"woh main neend mein thi aur maine kuch bhi bhol diya".

"geet, I'm not all surprised. Tum hosh mein hote hue hi kuch bhi bhol dethe ho, tuo neend mein yeh sab kehna tuo maamulisi baat hai" and giggled.

Geet closed her eyes in anger and asked him, "did you call me to taunt me?"

"No, I called you to wake you up. I know you would not be awake. I want you to be in office on time. Is that crystal clear to you?"

"ji!" she said,"phone rakhiye main tayyar hoke time pe aati hoon."

"bye!" he said and hung up walking into the mansion to have breakfast with daadima.

"maan, good morning!" daadima smiled.

"daadima, good morning and I love you!" he said excited.

Daadima looked at him and said, "Let me guess, you cannot tell geet this so you told me!"

"Oh daadima, now I know where I got all my intelligence from", he said grinning.

"Badmash" said daadima pouring some orange juice in to her glass. "waise maan aaj aapka koi appointment nahi hai na? Why don't you go to our farmhouse and take a look at the renovation work there son?"

Maan screamed, "Nahi daadima" and dropped the glass of juice. Daadima looked at him strangely and replied, "Maan khurana there is no need to yell! I have not asked to go and do the renovation there; I just asked to take a look at the work".

Maan looked at her as though she had asked him to give up breathing until the next day. Daadima looked at him angrily and said, "Alright Mr. Khurana, I'll find someone else to do my work. You go and sit in that 15000 crore company of yours".

"Daadima aisi koi baat nahi hai. Main jaunga sham ko, please!"

Daadima looked at him still angrily and asked him, "oh really maan? What do you plan to do in the evening there when the interior designers, architects and the other workers are all gone?"

Daadima all this while had completely forgotten that maan refused to go because geet would not be there. It some how did not occur to her that sending his secretary along with him would be a solution to the problem. She was angry that he refused to listen to her, his grandmother.

She spoke up again, when she found maan thinking, "maan don't bother" and picked up her phone and dialed the office, "Savitri Devi here" she said with a lot of pride in her voice. She shot maan another livid look before leaving the table.

He tried to stop her but she did not. He caught his head and grumbled, "daadima ko itna gussa aa gaya? Sab is geet ki wajah se! Pareshaan karke rakh diya mujhe."

Sasha took the call since it was Savitri Devi on the line. She assured daadima that her work would be done.

Shimla: Dev was at the construction sit, looking through some blue prints. He had been working on them for the last few days but he could still solve the problem. Since background was finance and economics, he did not really understand architectural designs. He wanted to call his bro but his wife had stopped him from doing it.

She told him, "Agar aise chote chote baton per aap maan ko phone karenge tuo maan ka importance badh jayega dev".

He yelled back at her in frustration, "Naintara Rathod Khurana, aap ek kaam kyun nahi karte? Yeh lijiye blue prints aur solve kijiye problem ko. Hum hotel jaa rahe hai". Saying so he slammed the blue prints in front of her and drove away. She looked at him with disgust.

"poori duniya mein, yahi ek insaan mila tha mujhe pyar karne aur shaadi karne ke liye".

She looked at the blue prints and it appeared like a group of polygons thrown together with numbers in between on a sheet of paper.

"ab hum kya karenge? Yeh solve karna bahut zaroori hai". She had no choice now. She dialed maan's number.

Maan was still sitting at the dining table waiting for daadima to return. He looked at the caller id and was shocked. His thoughts fled to dev's well-being. It was unusual for his sister in law to call him. He hardly spoke to her when she was in front of him and he had her number only because she was dev's wife. He knew that wherever dev went his wife would go, so it would be easier to contact him.

He quickly took the call and said, "dev theek tuo hai?"

"ji veerji, who bilkul theek hai. Btw, good morning veerji. Kaise hai aap?"

"Good morning" was maan's bitter reply.

"veerji aap shimla se jaldi chale gaye. Hume pata bhi nahi thi aap Monday ko wapas ja rahe the" she said trying to make some small talk before getting to the point.

"hmmm" came maan's reply, "kuch kaam tha?" he asked not wanting to beat about the bush.

"ji" she said and explained the whole problem to him. Maan sloved the problem in less than 10 minutes and explained everything to her.

She was happy that despite his cold replies she still solved her problem. He asked her before ending the call, "dev ko kya hua? Tum site pe kya kar rahe ho?"

Naintara knew that was one question maan would ask, so she gave him a well-rehearsed answer, "ji veerji, dev ko thoda bhukar hua, tuo hotel chale gaye. Aur maine socha ki main yeh kaam complete karu".

"hmmm, good!" he said, "ask dev to take care!" and hung up.

Naintara was elated that maan complimented her. She quickly called the workers and the architects there and explained the situation to them and the project moved to the next level.

Khurana Mansion, Delhi:

Daadima returned to the dining table and maan immediately got up and walked to her, "daadima itna gussa aa gaya aapko? Aap chahte hai ki main jau, theek hai, I'll go! Please aap naraz mat hoeye".

"No need" she said carrying on her breakfast.

He hugged her, said, "Sorry daadima", and kissed her cheek. She smiled. She said, "koi baat nahi".

He sat in his chair relieved seeing her smile and smiled to himself. Daadima asked him, "Why are you smiling?"

He said, "These days, the two women in my life only listen to me or forgive me when I kiss them or hug them or pull geet clos…" and stopped realizing what he was saying. Daadima gaped at him with mouth wide open.

"Maan, I do not wish to know your romantic details".

"Of course!" he said embarrassed.

"achha, afternoon, "geet" ko leke jaana, farmhouse".

"Kyun daadima?" asked maan surprised.

"kyun? Shaadi karne ke liye aur phir honey moon ke liye- don't you think farm house is a perfect location maan?"

He knew she was taunting him. "main jaunga, lekin geet ka kya kaam waha?" he asked.

"Mr. Khurana, aaj kal aapki secretary itni important hai, ki aap uske bina kahin nahi jaate. Isiliye. Shayad hume yeh pehle hi kehni thi ki aap geet ko bhi le jaaye. But, my age does not allow me to think that fast!"

Maan looked at her as if like a five-year-old, whose mistake had been caught by his mom.

30 minutes later, he was driving to office when he recollected everything he had to do for the day. He walked into the office and called for Sasha, but was told that she was out for a meeting!

He called geet to his cabin. She walked into his cabin. She was dressed in white and the color not only enhanced her beauty but also reflected the purity of her heart and mind.

He looked at her lovingly. She was dressed slightly in a different fashion otday. She did not have her duppata around her neck but had put it around her in such a way that it was covering her stomach too. That is when he realized she was four and half months pregnant and the bump of her stomach were becoming visible now.

He took a mental note- he had to talk to her about this too. Geet stood there in front of him and looked at him.

"baito geet" he said pointing to the chair in front of him.

She sat and he continued, "hume farmhouse jaana hai. Kuch kaam hai waha"

"ji sir" she replied. "When ever you are ready!" she replied.

He liked how she tried to be professional. She always addressed him as "sir" in the office and "Maan" when they were alone or out of office.

"let's leave now!" he said getting up.

She too did the same and they left the office. Since the farmhouse was a two-hour drive from office, maan wanted to discuss a couple of things with her.

While driving, he looked sideways at geet, pulled her right hand into his left hand, and placed it on his lap.

"Geet , major decide kiya?" he asked.

"ji" she said. "I want to become a Chartered Accountant".

Maan looked at her and asked, "Is that final?"

"yes!" she said.

"okay! Did you take a note of all the pre-requisites for it?"

"ji".

He shook his head and said, "That's a good choice. But what prompted you to take this up?"

"After reading all the information you gave me, I also researched some stuff online. I realized accounting, auditing and taxation is something that would really interest me. I also spoke to pinky's dad who is also a CA. Plus, this involves a blend of theoretical education and practical training, which run concurrently for a period of three years and would equip me with knowledge, ability, skills, and other qualities required of a professional accountant".

"hmmm" he said smiling at the justification she gave. She was getting practical now and that's what he wanted.

"So, you are all set to compete for Adi's position in the office", he asked.

"Nahi. Adi sir tuo bahut saalo se kaam kar rahe hai".

"But you ask him questions and learn stuff from him; he would definitely help you out. He knows his subject really well".

"ji" she said.

"So, where you want to work for hands on experience?"

"aapne aisa kyun poocha? Kya main khurana constructions mein kaam nahi kar sakti? Adi sir bhi wahi honge aur mere madat karenge".

"This question brings us to the next topic I wanted to discuss with you Geet- your pregnancy".

"Pregnancy?" Geet was scared whenever she heard him talk about this matter. Some how she felt this matter would end up creating barriers between them, though maan had repeatedly told her that it did not matter to him.

Wow, our Geet is going to become a CA. It is so nice to see the interactions between Dadi and Maan. NT is so calculating, does she ever tell the truth? I think Dev is starting to get tired of her, she should be careful- Geet is not that far away. 😉 Also Geet should know Maan better, she is scared about what he is going to say about the pregnancy but I am sure he is just going to try to make the situation better for her.
