"Hello"
"Sir"
"Sir, are you OK?"
The trickling of water stopped and was replaced by a few soft slaps across his face causing an unknown smile to creep up his face. He could hear the soft jiggling sounds of bangles each time he felt a slap across the face, but again made no effort to move.
"Sir..." She called out again gently slapping him to see if he was still conscious.
She was standing at her balcony door absorbing the morning's heat when she saw him fall down holding his head. Rushing towards him she saw that he was out cold. Seeing that the ocean side was deserted and not wanting to leave him near the water alone in an unconscious state, she had no choice but to sprinkle some water on his face to see if he would gain conscious again.
As time passed, she grew frustrated getting no response from him.
"Oh, Babaji. Why me? Why? Why did you make me get up early in the morning to be trapped like this?" She silently questioned looking upwards towards the sky.
She was getting tried of this early morning drama. She had to attend an important meeting in the morning and this situation was not exactly helping her. Finally, her patience level dipped that she slapped him hard across the face with all the force she could manage.
That was when his eyes flew open. One minute his head was resting on a warm surface and the next he felt his face against the cold ocean sand. He felt disoriented and dizzy and his hand automatically flew to his left cheek. The feeling of lightheadedness vanished as he realized what had just happened. The heat coming off his left cheek said it all. With stormy eyes he turned to face the person who had dared slapped him.
"How dare you slap M..S.."
?The sentence that had started out in a thunderous tone died even before he could finish his train of thought. It was her.
