Part 11
The staff of Khurana Construction was buzzing with the news that MK's brother was coming to work from Monday. They had all met him before and he was a real charmer. He was the polar opposite of MK personality wise, but both brothers were dashingly handsome. The girls in the office were excited to have some new eye candy in the office, though they all knew that he was married. Both Khurana brothers were irresistible and unobtainable.
Maan had told Geet that his brother would be joining them in the office soon. They had three days to prepare a cabin for him. Since weekends were off they had to get everything done by Friday. Maan asked Geet to hire a interior designer for the new cabin. When Geet asked Maan how he wanted the cabin to be designed, he told her she could choose everything as he wasn't in the mood for that. At first Geet was hesitant and didn't want to make any mistakes. She conveyed her concerns to Maan, "What if you don't like the choices I make for the cabin? What if your brother doesn't like it?"
"Geet, don't be ridiculous, you always come up with good ideas. Don't fuss and just get the job done.", Maan answered.
"Okay, but I won't take any of your complaining afterwards."
"Oh really? And what exactly will you do if I do complain?", Maan asked narrowing his eyes.
Geet began to pout and stormed out of Maan's office mumbling about how he thought too much of himself. Maan smiled at Geet's reaction. He loved how she was the only one who had the guts to talk back to him. Every other girl he had ever met was always too intimidated to talk to him. And the girls who did talk to him did it for the wrong reasons. Other girls swooned for him. But Geet was indifferent towards him. For gods sake he proposed to her and she turned him down. Geet was made something completely different than other girls. She spoke her mind and did her own thing. She had changed a lot since Hoshiarpur. She was a stronger women now. He admired her strength and determination.
While Maan was busy thinking of Geet, she called the interior designer. She also went online and looked up some modern designs for the new cabin. Though she was a little nervous, she was surprised that Maan was confident about her choosing the dcor for the office. She expected him to give someone like Sasha the job since they were so modern. It still baffled Geet that Maan loved her. She was from a small town and very simple. He was the most eligible bachelor in Delhi. He could have any girl he wanted but he choose her. She wasn't going to lie, it felt nice. She kept trying to stop herself from thinking of Maan but her mind wandered back to him all the time. She concluded that it was because she spent most of her day with him.
She went back to Maan's office to discuss project details with Maan."Sir, the deadline for the retirement home project is next week. You need to finish it.", Geet informed Maan.
"Oh yes, I forgot about that.", Maan said absentmindedly.
"Since when did you begin to forget about your projects? I thought Maan Singh Khurana was so perfect.", She snorted.
Maan glared at her. "Be quiet and get to work."
"Fine! Can't even crack a joke here.", she said rolling her eyes.
Maan sat in his chair and admired Geet's beauty as she sat across his desk. She was scribbling some details in her note pad. He acted as if he was reading through some files. She was deep in thought and was not paying attention to Maan. She had a serene composure. Maan gazed at her beautiful pink lips. He wondered how they would feel against his lips. Probably soft and gentle like her. He extended his hand to touch her lips, then Geet looked up. He quickly snapped out of it a pretended like he was aiming to get the file laying in front of her. That was stupid of him, he thought. She would have gone ballistic if he really did touch her lips.
Soon the interior designer came. The designer showed Geet pictures of many rooms. Geet choose a room that had very simple but elegant furniture. It was a combination of black and white. There was a large black desk, a small leather sofa, a few file cabinets and a coffee table. She choose some light dcor for the room so it did not seem to bland. She really liked it. Now she hoped that the Khurana brother would too. She wondered how Maan's bother was like. She heard from others in the office that he was good-looking and nothing like Maan. She didn't doubt that, as no one was like Maan. She wouldn't mind meeting his brother. She wanted to know more about Maan and having his brother around would give her insight into Maan's life. She felt this urge to see into his mind and to understand him. She clearly knew that the image he gave to the world of himself was not all that he was. There was more to Maan Singh Khurana then meets the eye and no one knew that better then Geet.
When everyone left for the day Pinky came to Geet's office to chat. "Oye Geet, lets get some snacks to eat and go home."
"No pinky, I have work to do. But you can stay and talk to me while I work.", Geet replied.
"Okay!", She said brightly. "Are you excited about DD's brother coming to work?"
"Not really. What's there to be so excited about?", Geet said indifferently.
"Well he's gorgeous like DD."
Geet laughed, "All you think of is how good looking a guy is, Pinky. By the way what's his name?"
"His name is D…", Pinky was interrupted as Maan walked into the office.
"Sir do you need something?", Geet said as Pinky slowly left the room before Maan could say anything to her.
"Yes, I need the Shopping Mall floor plans, but I can't find them any where."
"They're in your office sir. I'll look for them.", She walked out to Maan's office and Maan followed behind her. She didn't understand why Maan came to ask her for things himself these days. Usually he just called her. She opened his file cabinets and searched for the floor plan. She couldn't find them. She looked for about 10 minutes.
Maan became annoyed and said, "You can't do anything right! Why did I hire you if you can't even organize things correctly?"
Geet glowered at him with wide eyes and said, "What? I didn't loose your floor plan! You had it last. Don't go blaming this on me."
"Who should I blame this on? You're my secretary, its your job to keep everything in place.", Maan argued back.
"I can't believe your putting this on me. Why do I even bother putting up with this? I work really hard and all you do is complain about how I can't do this and that.", Geet said in enragement. "You know what you can find the file on your own.", she said beginning to walk out of the room.
Maan regretted his behavior towards her. Geet was very upset and he didn't like it one bit. She was right this wasn't her fault. He always let his anger take over. "Geet wait!", she kept on walking.
She was at the door when she felt strong arms pull her back by the waist. Maan spun her around. She was still in his embrace. Her heart began to flutter rapidly. His face was mere inches away from hers. His arms firmly held on to her waist. He looked into her eyes longingly.
"I'm sorry.", he murmured. She could feel his breath on her lips. She parted her lips as if anticipating a kiss. His eyes moved to her lips and he slowly began to move closer. Geet closed her eyes. Their lips met. He pulled her tighter against him. She let go of all her fears and wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. Her fingers ran through his hair. Neither of them wanted to let go of each other. It seemed as if their blood was boiling. At that instant it felt like everything was perfect.
When they parted they were both breathless. Geet stared at Maan in shock. Maan was still stuck in the moment that had just passed between them. He wanted her back in his arms. Geet's hand flew up to cover her mouth.
"Babaji, yeh maine kya kardi?", She whispered. She left the rooms as fast as possible thankful that the blinds on the walls and the curtain on the door was down.
Maan instantly followed her. When they were in her office this time she wouldn't look at him.
"Geet, I'm really sorry for what I did…I…", Maan attempted to fix the situation before Geet did something drastic like quitting the job.
"Please leave. I don't want to talk about it.", she said with her back to him.
"Let me explain…"
"No, just go!", She interrupted.
Maan left the room. Geet sat in her chair and tears rolled down her cheeks. How could she have done such a horrible thing? She claimed to not want to be with him and here she was kissing him like there was no tomorrow. The worst part was that she liked it. She desired to kiss him. She didn't want to let go of him. She wasn't in love with him. She couldn't be. How long would it be until she finally had to leave this job before Maan Singh Khurana entangled her with his love? Enough was enough, she couldn't work with Maan anymore. She had to look for a new job. Until then she would still work for him. But she would act like the kiss never happened.
The next two days Geet barely talked to Maan unless it had something to do with work. It was driving Maan crazy. He longed to talk to her and to see her smile. The kiss had built a wedge between them. But he didn't regret what he did. He needed it. He needed to show her how much he wanted her. After the kiss he was sure that she had feelings for him too. Not once did she pull away from him or resist. In fact she kissed him back with as much devotion as he had. He was more determined to make her his. He decided to leave her alone for a few days. The weekend came and he missed her. On Monday he would defiantly talk to her.
Over the weekend Geet looked in the newspaper for some new jobs but had no luck. Well she would keep trying. She had to leave Khurana Constructions.
Monday rolled around and Geet dreaded to see Maan. But it would be only for a few more days, so she went to work anyways. Maan and Dev drove to work together. They finally arrived and Maan first took him to his office to make a phone call and then would introduce him to the staff.
Geet saw Maan sit in his chair through the crack in the blinds. She got up to give him his schedule for the day. She walked in to his office with a curt "Good morning." There was a man sitting in the chair across from Maan. He turned around. Geet stared at him. She dropped the paper in her hand.
The man got off his seat as if someone just shocked him and without thinking, said, "Geet!"

I wrote this despite having to do other things. I attempted to make it long but I really have to go out right now. So sorry if it was not long enough. Guys please leave comments.
