Chapter 24

Abs and Maan share an intimate look and then Maan gets up and says chalo ab uthho. Mujhe bhook lagi hai. Tumhein nahi to khana to kha hi sakta hoon! He jokes and Abs taking his hand to get up says, hmmm abhi to khana kha lo, after exactly 20 days 9 hours and 15 mins mujhe bhi kha lena.

Maan knows that Abs' also holding on to her control and that both of them took this decision jointly. As Abs cooks dinner and Maan helps her cutting vegetables and laying the table for them and then sits and watches her work around the stove as she brings food on the table. They both eat and share lots of intimate eye locks which smoldered controlled passion. The retired to the hall after dinner and discussed wedding preparations with Abs' head in Maan's lap.

Vicky and Nargis slowly come back to the earth and Nargis for the first time says I Love You Vicky! I love your eyes, they are so expressive. Vicky hugs her close and says, me too sweetheart! you fill my heart with joy. I forget all the pain believe in love because of you. You have changed me. I would not have agreed to Mom coming back if it were not for you in my life. I now want to know her, help her find herself.

Nargis hugs him back with tears in her eyes. By the way says Vicky, did you see what I got you? I was going to give it to you but never got the chance. No said nargis and jumped off the bed to get it. She gave the package to him and said now you give it. Vicky opened the package and Nargis gasped as she saw a ring box. Vicky opened it and nestled in the box was an exquisite ruby and emerald ring in white gold. Vicky removed the ring, put it on her ring finger and asked, will you marry me nargis and make me the happiest man on this earth?

Nargis put her hand on her mouth and gasped with eyes widening. She was taken aback. She never thought that Vicky had actually thought of all this and they had wasted so much time. She nodded her head as she lost her voice. Vicky looked at her and said, will you? She exhaled her yes! And then hugged Vicky tight. This proposal had to be the most unusual one. Both of them were in bed, totally naked with a ring shining on her finger. Vicky then kissed her with the softest of kisses. Nargis was overcome with emotion and tears ran down her cheek. Vicky kissed each and every tear away. He whispered, Oh Darling don't cry. Nargis shook her head and said I am not crying. They are tears of joy Vicky. You make me so happy.

Just then, Vicky's stomach made a growling sound and both laughed. Nargis said I will make some food and went to the kitchen after putting on some shorts and t shirt and Vicky got dressed. They had their dinner and Vicky and Nargis sat talking about maan, Abs, wedding, daadi and his mom. She also told him about her family. About her father and mom and her brother and how they always had fun. She told him about her sister in law expecting in two months and that may be she will have to go to her to help out in last stages.

Nargis was very curious about Vicky's daadi and asked him why did he elicit Maan and abs' help to talk to her. Is she conservative? Asked Nargis. Vicky looked a little uncomfortable and shifted in the couch where he was holding nargis in his arms as they talked. Yes and No! she believes in tradition and has done a lot to preserve it. She has always upheld the Khurana prestige very well and expects us brothers to carry on that prestige and add to its glory. The only point of worry from her point of view about you would be your religion. Nargis sat up and turned to face him completely. What if she does not agree to our wedding? She almost choked. Vicky pulled her back in his arms and said, don't worry. She had come to know about Chloe and Maan and she was French and she had not said anything against her. You are indian so lets see. It could be a sticky point but I will convince her. You don't worry.

But Nargis had not heard anything after the word Chloe. She muttered Chloe? Who is Chloe? Oh she was a French girl friend of Maan's from college they had met when he was doing his undergrad at MIT. They opened the French company together. Now Maan avoids going to France altogether. She got married to some rich dude her father had deemed fit as he was kind of a French royalty. Maan stayed away from women that point onwards, till he met Abs of course. The reason he is so aloof. Nargis now understood why maan was the way he was. She wondered whether Abs knew about Chloe?

Nice update, so Dadi will cause a ruckus for Nargis & Vicky just the way Chloe would for Abs...interesting.........wait did Maan have any hanky panky w/ Chloe?

baby let bygones be bygones..now..that was ages ago..
yes they did...your hubby to be is no virgin..but the important part is he respects you enough to go with the tradition.

Chloe was his first...so hard to forget..the betrayal of first love even if you find out later that the love you gave never had any value for the other person.

you have taught Maan the true nature of love...

Muje is Dadi se darr lagne laga hain......I feel that She will play a hand in seperateing Vicky and Me!!

Hard to do Vrush, esp knowing my character... all prim and proper. Had Maan told this himself to me, I wouldn't be jubilant, but I'd swallow it somehow appreciating that he was honest and courageous enough to tell me as at that moment I could still call it off. However, if I find out from someone else esp. after marriage, then I'm for sure going to think that he played me for a sucker as he knows after marriage, it's difficult to leave.

He'll regret that decision of not telling me earlier. Now Abs is a typical taurus girl: stubborn, loyal, despises dishonesty fraud of any kind, reliable etc... and I can forgive but I never forget. And forgiveness doesn't come easily to me either.

i believe the same..total honesty... i forgive but not forget...

hey abs may be he didnt tell you cos he has truly forgotten and gotten over Chloe some time back...a chance meeting...cannot..change the love you two share..but yes...some insecurities may develop due to hormones....and one needs to live through them...sometimes...
its like a bitter pill that only improves the health...
