My guess is
He hates women coz of his own parents. No one had ditched him in his love life
two possibilities
1: His mom left him when he was child, and father brain washed him against his mom. His father then married to his governess i.e. dev's mom ( remember she calls him choote saahab)

2: His mom dies in aciident. Pammi used to work in his house or for his father. She and his father got married after his mom died. He thinks pammi for some reason is the cause of his mom's death.
