Hi gals....my PC is still suffering. I am sorry about these short updates that I am giving you all....Just bear with them and pray for my PC to recover to get longer and better updates.

"Geet stay here...I'll just be back" Maan ordered her authoritatively.

They had reached the Base Camp. Maan's attitude was like a open warning to Geet "This is my territory. It is my rule here....you better accept it!"

Geet nodded in submission to Maan's order. He disappeared into the old worn out building standing before her. She could see gangs of guys walking around the area. It felt as though there was no female mosquito in sight.

Geet felt impatient and decided to break the golden rule "Geet stay there..." he had said. She would begin with that first. she liked to systematically break rules. It came in the genes.....Brij broke necks, NT broke hearts and Geet broke rules. They should have been named the 'Breaker' family!!!!

She marched into the building evading all the looks she was getting from the masses there.

Maan stood there...in pink, talking to an elder man who seemed to be enjoying some private joke. Geet also grew aware of the sniggers are looks Maan's eccentric clothes were attracting. Somehow this made her go all angry.

Maan whirled around and caught sight of her standing there alone. He and other man quickly approached her.

"Geet, for heaven's sake! You are a girl!" Maan barked.

"Quick Observation, Mogambo!" Geet lazily tossed back.

"This is a boy's hostel!" he growled back.

The elder gentleman cleared his throat to indicate his presence.

Maan threw Geet a look dripping with censure. Geet glared right back...."And I was supposed to be born with the knowledge that this is a boy's hostel!"

"No you were supposed to be born with eyes!"

"Maan stop it. I have never seen you in such a foul mood. Maybe she missed the board. Not a big deal....Stop creating a scene."

"I am really sorry, Mr Anda"

Geet covered up her snigger at the name with an exaggerated cough.

"Geet, Mr. Anda is the warden of this place. He is a retired Navy personnel and has been incharge of this hostel for the past 10 years."

Geet smiled at the man and shook his hand politely.

"Maan I think you better go and get out of those pink things. You are creating a zoo scene here" Mr. Anda good-naturedly told Maan.

Maan smiled back and replied "Sure Mr. Anda....I am sure those spare tee-shirts are still garcing the locker room?"

"No bets on that Khurana. Off you go..."

Geet sensed that the rapport between these two was great. She noticed that Maan seemed more relaxed and free in this environment.

Maan walked towards the stairs leaving Mr. Anda with Geet.

"So you are soon going to become Mrs. Khurana huh?" Mr. Anda struck up a conversation with Geet.

"Did he tell you that?" she asked him.

"No. I sort of hoped. This guy is a great fellow. He needs someone to walk hand in hand with him....."

"I was hoping he would become Mr. Handa" Geet winked at the gentleman.

"Great idea....Hope you succeed. I sense the killer spirit in you."

Mr. Anda made her sit on a bench placed at the lobby and went away to attend his work. Geet kept staring at the groups coming in. She couldn't help noticing that many of them were good looking blokes. Those megamodel hunts should be held at base camps she thought to herself.

"Hey you need someone?" a voice made her turn.

A guy was standing close to the bench where she was seated. He had a boyishly handsome face with his hair falling over his eyes. He was dressed in black pants and a loose red hot shirt.

"Maan Singh Khurana..." she replied.

"You mean that pink pig who just went running to the locker room as if his pigtail was on fire...." he chortled.

Geet stood up. Across the fellow's shoulder she could see Maan striding purposefully towards them. He was back in a royal blue tee-shirt and black cargoes. Geet had always seen in soft coloured shirts and trousers at office and in vests and seatpants at home. He looked different.She shot him a sorry look and delivered a generous punch on the guy's face.

Maan stood rooted to his spot in shock as the guy fell down gracefully.

"GEET!" he shouted.

The whole lobby stilled at the scene.

Maan rushed towards the fallen guy and helped him up. Geet stood there staring hard at the guy.

"Geet...have you left your residual brains at Delhi?" Maan snapped at her.

"It's okay dude! She punched me for calling you a PINK PIG!" the guy broke out.

Maan's face clouded with confusion and then understanding dawned.

"Some powepuff girl you are" the guy clutched at his cheekbone.

"Sorry. But you deserved it" she coldly told him.

"I guess I did. Anyways may I know your name? I could use your services sometime"

Geet laughed. This guy was impossible. Inspite of that punch he had the audacity to ask her for her name so casually. She liked the spirit.

"Geet Handa."

The guy took her hand in his and gave her a lopsided yet attractive grin. He pushed his hair off his forehead with the other hand.

"Raunaq Verma. Call me Ronnie"

The smile curving Geet's lips was gnawing at Maan. "What the hell! Why was she fraternizing with a guy who had called Maan a pig?"

"Maan why are you looking as if you have a tooth ache?" Geet addressed Maan.

"Geet this is not your circus ground. Let's get going...you have created enough scenes."

Ronnie looked at Geet and Maan in amusement.

"Didn't you tell that you were waiting for Maan Singh Khurana? And you are Geet Handa.....He is not your brother?" Ronnie probed further.

Geet burst into peals of laughter while Maan gritted his teeth.

Maan threw the pair of them an ultra pissed off look and marched out of the hostel. Geet forced herself to run behind Maan.

That was simply hilarious! And I totally loved the whole scene between Ronnie and Geet. The dude's cool!
