I realize that some of our members are trying to catch up on the story, and here's a little summary I've written to help you out here!
Please pardon my writing, because it clearly sucks, but I hope you'll get the big ideas!😃
Geet is a college-going girl, 18, full of life, however, the men of the house don't approve her going to college. A marriage offer has come for Geet from some NRI guy who lives in Canada. Geet, has a small accident, on her scooty when rushing home from college with her small brother, and meets Dev on the way, but she doesn't know its the same guy who has come to see her.
Dev-Geet meet at Geet's home, both equally shocked!
The family approves of Dev, and Dev approves of Geet, but he wants to know what Geet has to say. Geet clearly expresses to Dev that she doesn't want to go to Canada.
He wins her trust, and tells her not to worry!
Dev-Geet marriage has been fixed, and Dev works his charm around the whole family and especially Geet, he's like this perfect dream guy! Both of them get married, Dev spends his first night with Geet, however, on the same night it is revealed that Dev is actually Naintara's husband who was posing as his bhabhi in front of Geet's family. Next morning, Dev and his family abandon Geet at the airport, taking all her jewelery and her land papers they got as a gift for their wedding! At first, Geet refuses to believe that Dev could ever decieve her, however, when searching for Dev, she comes across Maan and learns that he has bought her land. Then she realizes that Dev has fooled her and got married only to obtain her wealth. Meanwhile Geet's family wants to hide the fact that Geet ever got married since the wedding was a secret and happened so fast anyway, and they don't want the family name to be dishonored at any cost although its their fault that they never got a thorough background check on Dev or his family. Geet, on the other hand, wants to search for Dev and take revenge. Maan realizes that he still needs Geet's signature on a specific paper for the land to be his legally. Geet asks him the number of the agent from whom he bought her land in return, but Maan refuses to give it to her, and Geet refuses to sign the papers. Brij and Daarji decide that Geet should be remarried so everything is taken care of, Brij goes to Maan and offers him to marry Geet and he'll give him double the land. Maan goes back to Geet's house and tells the whole society of Brij's offer and humiliates them, Geet ends up signing the papers which Maan wants her to sign so he can stop humiliating her family members. Geet soon realizes that she's pregnant with Dev's child. Meanwhile Rajji, Geet's sister, bumps into Gurvinder, Channi's husband, who reveals to her that Channi was killed by Brij just because she married a guy from the lower caste and was pregnant with his child. Geet and Rajji are shocked. Geet tries to contact Dev in Canada to tell him about the baby and see if he can help her out so that she doesn't end up having the same fate as Channi did, but actually gets to Naintara. Naintara calls her to Amritsar without any of the famiily members, Geet thinks she'll meet Dev in Amritsar. Rajji is shocked that Geet is going to meet Dev after all he has done with her, but Geet tells him that she has neither any respect nor love for Dev, but he's the only way the baby can be saved. Maan needs to go to Amritsar with Geet to get the land registered in his name in front of the court officials, Geet agrees to go because she has to meet Dev there. Maan-Geet share a few moments in the trip, love-hate kind. Naintara reveals to Geet that she is actually Dev's wife, and that Dev-Geet marriage was a fake, and she was forced into doing all this by Dev!
During this confrontation Naintara sees Maan and seems to know him from before!
Naintara insists that Geet should get an abortion, and that Dev doesn't want this child. However, Geet decides to keep the baby and gathers courage after visiting Golden Temple, where Maan is also present, a sign of God, that he's her savior. Maan and Geet return back separately after they have an argument. Geet reveals to her family that she's pregnant, and the men of her house want her to abort the child, but she speaks up against them. Meanwhile, Maan is worried if Geet got back safely or not, but his ego doesn't allow to admit that he has concerns for her. He goes to her home with an excuse and indirectly inquires about her. Brij realizes that Gurvinder is actually hiding in his own house, Geet pleads Maan to take Gurvinder somewhere far away so he can escape from Brij. Maan thinks that he's probably Geet's boyfriend whom she went to meet in Amritsar. He refuses at first, but then takes him away. Geet's family calls the village lady doctor to do Geet's abortion, they are trying to use force on her. And Maan is leaving for Delhi, however, Geet's memories are haunting him.
Dev, on the other hand, is in Canada, and wants to go back to India since he learns that he needs more money to clear his debt, however, Naintara doesn't want him to go back since she thinks he has a soft corner for Geet (which he does)!
Dev's mom doesn't approve of what their family did with Geet and totally ruined her life, but she has no say in anything, and is overruled by her daughter-in-law, Naintara.
Naintara believes they pulled off the scam perfectly since she had done her research and knew that a NRI guy is worshipped like a god in Punjab, and no one would've thought about checking out their history or verify anything about them just because they are based in Canada.
Also, Dev has a big brother who actually doesn't approve of his family, and there's a big possibility that the brother will turn out to be Maan Singh Khurana.
Hope you liked a little summary!
