I Will Never Leave TV For Films - Hiten Tejwani
- Articles
TV's Mr.Dependable Hiten Tejwani is all set to sizzle on the big screen with Vikram Bhatt directed erotic thriller Love Games which will the hit the theaters on All Fool Days. "I can't say much more about the character except that it is something you have never seen me play before. This was the main reason for me saying yes." This film shot in Cape Town (South Africa) stars Patralekha, Gaurav Arora and Alisha Berry."
What did Vikram tell you? he said, "Sorry I have not seen your work but my office guys say that you are a good actor. Let's work out something magical on screen. And rest assured your character plays a very important role as the story pans out." Added he.
Hiten who till now has only played the sweet guy hopes this Mahesh Bhatt production will open more vistas for him as an actor. "I also hope to be given more TV thriller roles as well e.g. Byomkesh Bakshi."
Here however Hiten becomes a realist and says, "while we think that we have made a total entertainer with good songs finally what matters is the decision of the audiences. Today besides good content a correct release pattern and the right amount of publicity also plays an equally important role. My last film release Thoda Lutf Thoda Ish petered out as it had too few screens. Many of my fans complained that they wanted to watch the film, but they were not enough shows."
In closing Hiten who is keeping busy with two daily shows (Ganga and Balika Vadhu) says he will never give up TV for films, "It has given me name and fame. I will plan my films carefully as don't want to be like those small screen stars who first dumped their producers mid-way for films and then be forced to again approach them for work after their Bollywood sojourn's tanked."
