hey, i think it has to be Number 2.
logically, if number 1 who will have the most clues did not shout the colour of his hat, number 2 will know he is not wearing the same colour hat as the person in front of him. If he was, then number 1 would see two black/white hats and would therefore know that his hat must be black/white.

So Number 2 knows He isn't wearing the same colour hat as the man in front. If the man in front is wearing a black hat, number two can confidently shout out that the hat he is wearing is white.

i am right arjun. unless you are using troy wieght. in that case the pound of feathers is heavier cos a troy pound is 12 troy ounces in weighing gold and standard pound is made up of 16 ounces for feather!!
