now the story:
Part 1: A step towards maturity
This story is settled around 13th century, when Hindustan was a strong, treasurish land; where charming brave and rich kings and princes used to live in big beautiful palaces in their respectives cities. Among them, was one named Aryanagar.
Aryanagar was a big and prosper city. In its large palace lived the royal family. The days of Aryanagar were pacific, and quite enjoyable since the births of the children, the future princes of the city. One day':
"Dharam!...Dharam!!.." called a running kid.
"A calmed voice replied: "Kya hua Veer? Tum aab kisse bhag rahe ho?"
Veer stopped, anxiously looking here and there with a naughty but innocent face. "Maa mujhe datnne ke liye doondhrahi hei, sirf kyunki kal mein khelte waqt, uske saare kangan ek ped par latka diya.." he giggled and exclaimed "aaj mahal ke bahar choopenge!"
Dharam asked "Choopenge? Mujhe kyon choopna hei?"
Veer informed trying to put a serious tone: "Kyunky hum Dharamveer hein, aur humesha saat rehekar, ek dusre ke saat dehenge"
Dharam responded indifferentely "haan, par humne thorei na maa ko sataaya hei, ya phir koi batameezee kaiyye.."
Veer insistently, pushed Dharam shoulder "Toh maine kab mannaa kiya??"
Finally, not wanting to discuss more with his brother, the ten years Dharam, accessed to hide with Veer.
After having runned downstairs and trough the familiar green ground of the palace, they kept running in different directions, and as it was a destiny desire, they reached to a new deserted place.
The curious kids stopped, and confusely started watching wide eyed and with their mouth half opened a never seen before scene.
There were like thousands of people of all ages, working non-stop, occupied in building constructions and statues. There were childs like them working seriously, old people like the king himself taking heavy materials from one place to another, to again carry more things; women like their now resting mothers, caring of their babies but still working. The worst thing was that their faces were lifeless, bored, their body was full of sweat, and they seemed to be forzed to work.
A tired voice was echoing: "mein bass thora sa pani piraha tha..Ahh!!.." "Mujko maaf kar dijiye sarkar..ahh!!"
"Paniii..Aissa sabak sikhaoonga, ki zindagi bhar kabhi pani nahin mangonge.."shouted a rude voice "Aghar aaj ki baad zindagi rahi toh.." added in a lower tone, followed by a horrifyng laughter.
Alarmed, the small Dharam and Veer, went to see what was happening. As they came near to the scene, their usually happy faces turned to horrified ones.
There was a well dressed man badly hitting and old man lying on the muddy floor in pain, unsuccesfully begging for some pity.
Finally, the cruel man, bored of the torture, took out his knife'.and ended the asks of the poor man forever.
Then, he shouted: "he koi aur, jisko paani chahiye?" The paralyzed workers bended their head down not daring to do anything else wich can provoke their boss. The man again laughed aloud with an air of authority and self-respect.
The hidden kids saw how there was no change in the expressions of the cruel man, there was not even a sign of had taken someones life only few seconds back.
Not wanting to know what he will do next, they swloly stepped back, took each other hand and started running desperately to a secure place, often seeing behind to assure their safety.
Veer opens his eyes...back to the present. This last one, was the third time to recall that incident in sleep. He starts remembering that day, in wich he and his brother took a step towards maturity; in wich they realized that in life all isnt fun and laughter, sweetness and flowers; but there also exits work and evil, bitterness and rocks in someones path. They also came to know the real personality of their uncle Jaivardhan .
Not minding very much the recent thoughts, Veer moves to the big window of his bedroom to admire a beautiful sunrise; he sees the bright rays reflecting on the transparent water of the pond in the royal gardens, singing birds flying in the light orange sky... Pleased with the wonderful scene, he doesnt notices that he was being watched. He yawns aloud, stretches his arms, and moves to his bed, to lie down in his soft matress while he covers up to his face with his thin and confortable blanket, in hopes of submerg in a deep sleep, again.
In the bedroom door, a shocked Dharam puts his hand in his forehead and shakes his head, thinking of when will his brother learn something. Finally, letting know his presence, Dharam breaks his silence: "Mein jahanta to hoon, ki tum subaa mein se oothnewala nahin ho, aur agghar galti se ooth bhi jaye, to phir sojaonge.." Veer disturbed, removes the blanket from his head, revealing a charming face and interrupts his brother: " Haan to..? Kya tumhe koi takleef hein..?" and turns to the opposite side of where Dharam is. Without answering his brother nonsense questions, Dharam walks towards Veers bed, turns him to his side, and says. "Chalo Veer!! Kam se kam buaji ke janam din mein toh jaldi tyar hoya karo.."
Not giving time to his brother to react, Veer inmediately sits up in his bed as soon he hears the birthday word and screams anxious: "Kya!! Maa ka janam din aaj? Tumne pehle kyon nahin batayaa?" He jumps down from his bed and exits running from his room, while Dharam smiles enjoying his brother contrasting reactions.
