Part 7

Harshini dragged Kripa out of the senior's common room and slightly nudged her by her elbow, 'Kripa… yeh kya kiya tu ne?… Angad ko itna kuch sunna diya aur socha bhi nahi??'. Kripa stood their thinking over what she had done; she herself didn't know why she had reacted the way she did. But one thing was sure, she was more than happy, bohat ghamand tha na usse… ab sab toot gaya, she thought.

'Kripa… main tujh se baat kar rahi hoon', Harshini said waving her hands in front of a blank faced Kripa.

'Huh!... er… Harshu main uss bare main baat nahi karma chahti… please chal yaha se..', and she walked away.

That night neither Angad nor Kripa could sleep. Angad thought about what she had said to him. Her voice echoed in his mind throughout the night, 'You disgust me.. Mujhe laga ke shayad tum ek ache insaan ho.. par Nahi.. Tum ek self-centred, arrogant insaan ho jisse apne ilawa kuch nahi dikhta'. He thought about this over and over again. He hadn't done or said anything to her that would insult his character, sure he had winked or made comments but that wasn't really a big deal… was it? He remembered when she had said she wouldn't want to be near him, 'Mujhe gin hoti hai jab main tumhare paas aati hoo..'. Was he really that bad? No, wait… what am I thinking? He will teach her a lesson she would never forget, he smirked. She had insulted him in front of his friends, now he will insult her in front of the whole college, that too real soon.

Kripa thought about what she had said to Angad. She was pretty glad she finally spoke up to him. He had no right to insult and humiliate her again and again in front of everyone. But she couldn't think of the reason why she burst all her anger on him. Okay, so he was bothering her and testing her patience but she was on a verge of slapping him. If he had said something else to her God knows what had happened. Or was it because what she had witnessed between Tanya and him that made her really angry. Did she take the ragging excuse to teach him a lesson for what he had done to Tanya?… poor girl loved him and he broke her heart carelessly. She sighed, well at least he won't bother me again, and closed her eyes.

The next three days Kripa was dropped at college by Shashank. He would offer her a lift and she would gladly accept as she didn't want to be with THEM again. The whole college had found out about Kripa being the Dean, Professor Shashank's daughter. She had her own small fan- following but she could careless. It was as if she had become a little celebrity. They all admired her and treated her differently, which Kripa hated, as they referred to her as, 'tum Professor Shashank kee beti ho na…' or 'tum Dean kee beti, Kripa ho na'. She hated how they addressed her by her father's name before her name itself. She hated the attention she was getting from everyone. And to top it off, the rumour had spread that she had insulted Angad. So, she had another fan club from the 1^st year students, they admired her. They thought she had come as a little saviour and saved them from ragging.

Angad would smirk every now and then seeing all the attention she was getting. The more the better, he thought. Soon, she would come crashing down back to earth when he finishes with her. But he was still very angry with her; they would exchange murderous looks every now and then. Kripa tried her best to avoid him at any cost, he would pretty much do the same, no one knowing what was planning at the back of his mind.

Kripa walked with Shashank in through the main gates. Shashank stopped when he saw Angad and his friends fooling around sitting on Angad's sports car that was always parked just before the main college building.

'Kripa… tum thehro.. main do (2) minute main aaya..' Shashank said and walked towards them, she followed.

'Boys… aap sab yaha itni subah kya kar rahe hai… as long as I remember you all have a lecture with me today, and it starts at 11… abhi to sirf dus bajhe hai..' he said looking at his watch.

'Haa sir… hum ne socha ke college jaldi aajate hai… after all we can't afford to be late,' Angad said sarcastically. Shashank sighed; it was useless talking to such people that didn't want to make anything out of their lives. But who would blame them; they had all the money they needed for their next seven generations.

'Par Angad… mujhe tum se yeh umeed nahi thi..' he turned to Angad who sat on his car roof like he did any other day, looking at Kripa with a slight smirk, she looked away. Angad was the only one amongst his friends that actually wanted to achieve something. But Shashank had been biased against him thinking, 'jaissa mohal… waissa yeh'. He knew Angad was capable of being a great doctor, but somehow he always thought against the idea and thought, 'exams main bhi cheating kar ke hi pass hoya ho ga'.

Angad was glad at least Shashank didn't know about the ragging, otherwise Angad would have been out of the college before you could say what?

He added rhetorically: 'Tum sab subah subah uth kar yaha aawara gardi karne aate ho yah perhai karne?...'.

'Karne to parhaahii aate hai par-'

Angad was interrupted by Kripa, 'Papa… chale.. main late ho rahi hoo', the last thing she wanted was to stand in front of Angad. Shahank sighed and left, Kripa followed after looking at Angad angrily. She hated how he was so arrogant, even to those that were much elder than him. She muttered, 'itni akar theek nahi hoti', and left not realising Angad had heard her. He looked at her angrily, he would surely do something… and that too fast.

'Yeh ladki samajhti kya hai apne aap ko… itna ghamandh… wo bhi kiss baat ka… tumhe itna kuch sunaa diya wo bhi TUMHARE hi common room main…. Mujhe aissa koi kuch kehta to chutki main line par le aati', Mishti said and clicked his fingers. When ever she got a chance she would say something against Kripa to Angad, she hated how much attention she was getting from him even now, whether it was angry looks or not, Angad was always staring at her.

She continued with her jale par nimak charikna (putting salt on his wounds) comment, 'Ab aage kya kiya socha hai Angad… kya karma hai ISS Sharma ka..?'

Angad just stood up and walked away arrogantly, smirking to himself, he had all his plans cleared he didn't need to go through them with anyone… especially Mishti. He knew that the one person he hated the most was her, partly because her mum wanted her to be his bride and partly because she was always sucking up to him. Well to think about it all the girls were… except one… wel…l not long before she'll be dancing to his tunes, he grinned.

Kripa walked in her class and sat with Aaliyah, 'Hi… kaissi ho tum'.

'Hi… main to theek hu yaar… tum sunaao yaar…kya baat hai aaj kal time par aati ho class main?' she questioned looking at her watch.

Kripa joked, 'Haan.. aaj kal tumhare bhai jo tang karne ke liye nahi hota..'. Aaliyah smiled back.

Aaliyah was very fond of Kripa from day one, she had heard of the little argument between her and Angad but had decided not to get involved. If it were someone else, she wouldn't have avoided the subject, but she knew Angad was giving a little too attention to Kripa and was teasing her a lot…so it would have annoyed anyone.

as far as i m guessing he is going to regret it immensely later on.
