"Me." The voice came from the little balcony-ish hall upstairs that looked over the living room. Naina's head snapped in the direction and shock was frozen on her face. Kripa held Naina's eyes as she started to walk down the stairs until she came and stood beside Angad, in front of Naina. Kripa extended her hand.
"Hello, I'm Mrs. Angad Khanna. It's nice to finally meet you." Kripa smirked.
Naina looked at Kripa, then Angad and then back at Kripa, wide eyed. When Naina didn't shake Kripa's hand, Kripa raised her eyebrows and looked at Angad as she pulled her hand back. Naina's eyes flickered to Kripa's stomach for a couple seconds before they moved back to kripa's smirking face. Naina looked at Angad.
"Yeap", angad nodded, "She's pregnant. With my baby...I mean...Babies."
Kripa: You're going to be a grandma!
Her voice was dripping with excitement. Naina shocked out of her senses just stared at them blankly. Angad put a protective arm around Kripa's waist and pulled her closer.
Angad: Kripa...why don't you go and freshen up...I think I need to bring my mother out of her dream world.
Kripa nodded and turned to Naina. "I'm really glad I got to meet you mom. Welcome Home."
Kripa felt Angad shudder at the words. She smiled at him and walked up the stairs. As soon as she closed the door behind her, she rushed to her cell phone. She decided that calling would be too risky, so she decided to text message.
"Alright everyone, Beware! The witch has made the entrance. She is shocked down to her wits. What's the next plan?"
Sooner than she'd expected, she had replies from everyone.
Armaan: AWESOME...Now this will get exciting!
DK: are you safe? Is Angad okay? What did she say? Lets meet to discuss the next step!
Chief: Be very careful Kripa...and as per plan, you're just going to be super nice to her. Remember that she has no idea you know her reality! Good Luck Dear.
She chuckled and sat on her bed, absent-mindedly playing with her bracelet. She was so lost in her thoughts, she didn't hear Angad come in or notice him take a seat next to her. She looked up at him with a glum expression when he called her name.
"She doesn't like me" Kripa whispered.
Angad: why do you say that?
Kripa: she didn't shake my hand....or say anything to me...
Angad: she's just shocked that's all.
Kripa stared into his eyes, easily noting the hesitation in them. "You want to say something," she said, not making it sound like a questions, but rather a statement.
He sighed and closed his eyes, reaching for her hand. She willingly put her hand in his and looked at his face, trying to read his expression.
"What is it," She pressed.
"um...Mom isn't exactly thrilled that...that'"
"That you married me," She completed for him.
Angad: yes...and I'm worried...that she'll mistreat you. Whether you like it or not, I am not leaving you alone with her at all. As long as she's around you...either Riddhima, Armaan, or myself...we'll be there.
Kripa let that sink in. That would be a problem. Putting their plans into action would be hard with angad and Riddhima around.
Kripa: Angad...Its every daughter-in-law's job to make sure her mother-in-law likes her. Don't worry. I'll handle all this. This is between a saas-bahu...dont try to wedge yourself in between.
Angad: but Kripa'
Kripa: Angad...trust me. I'll make sure she likes me in no time. Now cheer up and head out..you'll be late.

"mom! Mom!!" Kripa called out to Naina after setting the lunch table. Naina walked into the dining room with a frown on her face. Thinking that Kripa had lived in a completely Indian household, she must know only how to make traditional Indian food, Naina knew which excuse she was going to use to lash out at Kripa. Her aim now was to hate Kripa so much that Kripa left their lives forever. She would convince Prithvi, allure him by promising him money. Angad and simone could get married then while Kripa would be a single mother to Angad's children. Heartbroken. Alone. Naina's revenge would be sweeter than she would have expected. She was ecstatic.
Naina looked at Kripa, who beamed a smile. She casually strolled to the dining table and took a seat, not bothering to return the friendly gesture. When Naina's back was to Kripa, Kripa rolled her eyes. She opened all the continental food containers first and looked at naina. Naina was thrown off for a second but her cunning mind quickly revaluated the situation and came up with another excuse.
Naina: what is this?? I hate continental food. I thought my daughter-in-law would know how to cook traditional Indian food. Simone would have done it nicely.
Kripa raised an eyebrow and smirked. She opened a few more containers that had Indian food. Now Naina was cornered. Kripa had laid about 8-10 different types of dishes in front of her to choose from. Naina gritted her teeth and pushed her chair back.
"I'm not hungry. The food doesn't look all that appetizing to me anyway." Naina walked out of the dining room annoyed that she had lost her first chance to show some hatred towards Kripa.
Later that evening, as Naina, Kripa and angad sat in the living room, each caught up in their own little errand in complete silence, angad pulled out a few paper to sign.
"I just need to withdraw a big amount of money for the business and I need your signature." He handed the papers to her and looked at her while she read through each and every one of them and then signed them. When he took the papers and turned, he caught a glimpse of Naina's expression. Furious.
Kripa got up from the couch announcing that she was going for a stroll around the house. She left the room leaving a bored angad and an outraged naina.
"what was that angad?!"
"what? I don't know what your talking about...mom." He nearly spat the last word. She continued glaring at him. He knew this was going to happen whenever she found out so he was neither surprised or angered at her. He simply ignored her and turned back to his laptop.
-------------- Part 42B:"Why do you need her signature?" Naina demanded.
"Because she's the owner of the property." Angad glared at her.
"Everything? You gave everything to her?"
"Yes. Everything. Every last penny."
"You've made the biggest mistake of your life."
"I don't think so Mrs. Khanna. I made the biggest mistake of my life when I let you rule my life. When I listened to you and left Kripa. Now I realize what I've been missing out on all these years, what I've been putting her through all these years....just because of you. I won't let you ruin everything again."
"Oh my dear, you will. You know what I'd planned the first time around for Kripa...I'll do the same now. Make her give you back all the property....every last penny...and then divorce her. You will marry Simone like I had planned."
"I won't do it."
"I'm sorry? What was that? Did you just refuse to do what I asked you to? Fine. Have it your way. I see you don't love her as much as you claim to."
"Enough. I've had more than enough of your threats. I still won't do what you've asked of me. I won't leave Kripa. Ever."
"She'll just have to say goodbye to the world then."
"She is carrying my children and it means a great deal to me. No matter how vicious you are, you are still my mother so I won't do anything to you. But Mrs.Khanna, if you want to get to Kripa, you're going to have to kill me first. I love her. I love my babies. And I won't let you rule my life like you have done before."
"You don't know me Angad! I can and I will get to her."
"Wherever you go, whatever you do, you'll find me standing in front of her. You WILL have to kill me before you even touch her."
"Me too" said someone from the doorway.
Both Angad and Naina turned to see Riddhima standing in the house, A couple steps from the door. Her face possessing an angry expression while her cheeks were wet with tears.
"Before you get to Kripa, you'll find Angad standing in front of her and you'll find me standing in front of him."
Naina looked at Angad with a wide-eyed expression. Angad looked back at her, a little smug despite himself.
"You may leave now Mrs.Khanna", Angad stated rudely.
Naina was beyond furious. She glared at both Angad and Riddhima and stomped out the door. Four seconds later, Angad ran after her remembering that Kripa was outside. Alone. Unprotected. As if reading his mind, Riddhima rushed after him.
"Angad! Don't worry. Armaan is with her."
Angad kept walking as if he hadn't hears her. When he walked into the front yard, Kripa was talking to Naina while Armaan stood behind Kripa with a scowl on his face. As Angad got closer, he was able to pick up pieces of their conversation.
"Please mom. Just stay. I'll give everything back to him. You can go once the babies are born."
What the hell was she doing? Angad was trying to keep her safe and here she was, inviting the danger home.
She looked over Naina's shoulder, at Angad, and ever so slightly, she nodded. Angad knew at once that she and Armaan were up to something that he didn't know about and Naina was a part of it somehow.
While Kripa was pleading with Naina to stay, Naina's sharp mind made a plan of its own. She decided to stay back. After all, they would be alone when Angad went to work. Where would Kripa hide? Who would protect her then? Naina smirked at the idea in her head. She flashed a loving smile at Kripa. Angad braced himself mentally. This was not good. At all. As much as he knew his mother, he knew she won't give up so easily. He also knew that Naina had a plan set in her mind. To compensate, Angad made plans of his own. Little did he know that his plans interfere with Kripa's plans and make things harder for her.
According to Angad's idea, Armaan and Riddhima would stay with them in the same house. At all costs, Kripa would have company other than Naina. Over the next week, Naina stayed with angad-kripa. DK hadn't let anyone stop him when he suggested that they involve Riddhima into everything. She and Angad being in the dark only raised more boulders in their paths. Kripa and chief put the issue of Riddhima's safety in front of DK to make him dismiss his suggestion.
Kripa and Riddhima convinced Armaan and Angad that they had to continue working as so far, Naina Khanna had behaved herself but......Kripa hadn't. Their entire setup depended on her next plan. If she failed at it, one or more people could lose their lives. She wouldn't risk it if it weren't the only way.
