PART 10

With a faint smile on his face, Armaan thought about all of the wonderful moments he spent with Riddhima in the stairwell. The long talks, the kisses, the teasing, the laughing...he knew that during those times, his world was perfect-their world was perfect.

He also knew that something had to be done about Jai. He wouldn't compromise his world for this guy who came out of nowhere. Who was he to weasle into his life? Armaan felt a sense of insecurity when it came to Jai. He was so close to Riddhima. For the first time in his and Riddhima's courtship, he felt like he could possibly lose her. Shashank and his family loved him, his co-workers were getting to like him, even Nana was fond of him but most importantly, he meant a lot to Riddhima which was unacceptable to Armaan. There was no way that he would let Jai take his place in Riddhima's life.

Armaan decided that he would figure out how to get rid of Jai later but right now all he wanted to do was to feel Riddhima-he wanted to touch her. He went to the ICU to check on her. He knew that Keerti had gone on her rounds but would be around to check on Riddhima's condition so he decided to put on scrubs and a surgeon's cap and mask. He looked ridiculous as there was no surgery in the ICU but he was willing to do anything for the woman he loved.

Beep...Beep...Beep...Riddhima's heart monitor was on and she was still receiving some oxygen. Armaan looked at her lovingly. He walked toward her slowly as he didnt want to make a sound. As he walked closer and closer, he could see the scratches on her body covered with bandaids and gauze. He touched her arms ever so slightly and felt a chill go up his spine. After so long did he touch her with love, care and tenderness. his fingers lingered at her forearm for a while and then made their way to her hand. He held her hand while sitting at her side. Then he went to her cheek gently kissing it. Armaan brushed some stray hairs off of her face and looked at her with love. He regretted ever saying that he didnt want a relationship with her, calling her aiyree gaiyree and many other things. But all that was of the past. He wanted to start life afresh. He wanted another chance. This time, no games and no anger-only love. As he watched the heart monitor, he knew that each of her heartbeats only beat for him. He was proud to call Riddhima his and only his.

He knew that Dr. Keerti would be coming any minute to check on Riddhima. And seeing as how Riddhima was breathing on her own now, he didnt want Riddhima to see him there. He got up and bend down to kiss her forehead and cheek.

A: Im sorry Riddhima. Mujhe maaf kardo. Mujhe pata nahi tha ke mein tumse kya keh bethaa. Mein hosh main nahi tha. Please, mujhe maaf kardo.

Without saying a word, he left the ward knowing in his heart that she heard him. Afterall, their hearts were not two, but one.

Riddhima gained consciousness and Shashank called Anjali, Pia and Nani to tell them that everything was ok. Riddhima would be shifted into a private room. Now, she only had physical injuries. He said that there was nothing wrong with her respiration as they had given her oxygen treatments. She would be fully recovered.

When Armaan heard the new through Dr. Keerti, he was elated. He ran straight to Riddhima's room, only to see Jai there, helping her get into the bed. He held her in his arms, making Armaan burn with fury. Amraan clenched his hand, making a fist and wanting to kill Jai. He turned around from there sulking, but telling himself that he would be back later to see Riddhima.

J: Ridu, shukar hai ke tum theek ho. Ham sab ki jaan nikal gayi. Tumhe pata hai ke agar tumhe kuch ho jata, to mera kya hota? Anjali ka kya hota? Uncle? Nani? Tumhare sab dost?

Riddhima thought about Armaan and what had happened before. All she could remember was that Armaan said that he didnt want to see her face. She began to weep slowly.

R: Kash, main mar jaati. Aisi zindagi se jeene se kya faiyda?
J: (worried and angry) Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho Ridu? Ek dunga kaan ke neeche! Hosh tikane ah jayenge!
R: Sach Jai. Agar mein mar jati, to achcha hota.
J: Riddhima! Aisa hua kya hai?! Kyun tum aisi baatein kar rahi ho? Paagal ho gayi ho kya? Mein dekh raha hoon ke jab se mein aur Pia wapas aye hai, tum purani Riddhima nahi ho! Bilkul badal gayi ho! Pehle to mein jab tumhare saath mazaak kartatha, tumhara gussa...
R: Isi gusse ki wajay se maine apna sab kuch kho liya hai.
J: Kya?! Riddhima, kya hogaya! Sach batao!
R: (crying) Mein marjana chaati hoon Jai! Mein jeena nahi chaati! Sab kuch katam hogaya hai mere liye...

Jai immediately got up and hugged her. He couldnt help but wonder what was happening! Why was Riddhima acting this way? What made her say that? Could this be because of Armaan? he wanted to find out!

J: Riddhima, tu mujhe sach bataa. Tujhe hamari dosti ki kasam, MERI kasam, mujhe bataa ke hua kya hai!! Agar nahi bataya toh tu mera maraa hua chehra dekhegi!

Riddhima looked at Jai and closed her eyes.

R: Jai mujhe pyaar hogaya hai.
