Dinner time was full buzz….all talking and mingling with one another…Angad tried to come and talk to Kripa…but…she tried to avoid him again…she went away with the group for helping them in cooking and then went and sat with Harshini and her new friend….…….his eyes kept looking for her…but she never met his eyes…He was getting frustrated by her behaviour…he wanted to shake her and tell her to look at him…..Mishti came with her plate and sat besides him….and he started eating his dinner silently…..
Kripa on the other side…could feel Angad's gaze on her…..she did not look up purposefully……..She was feeling the strenghth drain from her…she felt like going back to Nainital and catch the first flight back to Singapore……It was so painful to see Angad And Mishti together…….Mishti was laughing and talking to Angad and he replied to her making her laugh once more…..They were so free and friendly with each other….They both were having nice time…she guessed……….by their happy laughing faces….She and Harshini escaped early that night…and sat together and read the books they bought with them………
Next morning…Josh came to wake them for the exercise and then self defence lessons… …and they both got up…reluctantly……..Kripa and Harshini slept very late as they were reading the book till late night…..
Kripa wore…tights…during her exercise session….And tied her pony tail tightly on top….She looked lovely…excercising ….Angad was behind her and kept looking at her…but Kripa never looked back…….They exchanged pleasant hi's and talked formally…..Aliyah and Mishti…went with Kripa and Harshini…for their exercise session…..Then Josh thought every one some self defence lessons…making everyone participate and try out the skills……He then told every one about the trip next day to near by valley…….and told every one to get ready for it…..The day went by…as usual and Kripa was successful in avoiding Angad once again….After dinner..everyone sat singing songs and dancing….Kripa and Angad just sat there….smiling at everyone…but neither of them enjoying ….
Next day at the trip too, Kripa sticked to Josh…talking to him…asking him about the experiences…his job, etc…..Angad was just gritting his teeth…looking at them together….the whole time…He tried to go with them, but some one would always ask for help and he stayed back…Josh kept holding Kripa's hands…..while climbing or step hills.....They were quite cosy with each other sharing jokes…etc…thought Angad with anger……..
The routine followed for several days…Harshini and Kripa always sticked together, or with Josh
Harshini asked her to go and talk to Angad, but Kripa told her there is no point…because Mishti and Angad are married….Harshini too was convinced…by there interaction that Kripa was telling the truth….... Kripa avoided any contact with him in private…..After about 5 days…Angad could not tolerate any more……
He broke the rules and went into Kripa's tent…angrily….…She was writing…some thing….
A: Kripa…
K: Angad…shocked she got up…What are u doing here? You are not allowed in here…it's against the rules….
A: I don't give a damn about the rules….His eyes red with anger…….Kripa was shocked to see his anger…she never saw Angad's anger this way…..
K: Angad….why did u come here…she asked calmly…
A: I want to talk to u….
K: About what?
A: About why u are trying to avoid me for starters….
K: I am doing no such thing…
A: The hell u are not…he barked out….
K: Angad go to ur tent and calm down we will talk later ok…
A: I want to talk now….come with me….
Kripa sighed…she could see that there was no point telling him no….he simply might get more angry……
K: Can you wait outside…I will just change and come in a min…
Nodding Angrily Angad went out…Kripa changed her clothes and was out in a min….
Angad was sitting on the rock…looking at the other side of the tent…….By the time she came out his anger was down…
K: Angad
Angad looked at her….sighed and got up…and they walked side by side…..silently…each one in their own thoughts….
They went for a while…out of sight…of other people….The view in front of them was beautiful…..The sun set across the sky spread beautifully…..Both looking at the view….quitely….
K: What did u want to speak Angad?
Angad looked at her….
A: Can't I just want to speak to my friend….Should there be any reason always to meet …
K: No….she said quietly….But why get angry…..
A: Angad was quite for some time…then at last he asked…Why are u avoiding me Kripa…..From last 6 months I have been trying to contact u….but u never replied my mails…never called…
K: I told u I was busy Angad…
A: You are telling a lie….
K: No I am not…..
A: Oh ok…how about last 5 days….i don't think you have been that busy to talk to me….You had time to talk to every one else….and most of all Josh….but not me right….
Kripa did not answer him…
A: So ..what am I to think of your silence…?
K: Angad…its nothing like that…we met after around 8 years….and its just akward…..
A: Would it have been any different…if I and Mishti were not together……..
K: I don't think so…She lied…then added….but I don't know…..You know what I told u…no women wants to share her love with other women….so may be it would have been….Mishty is my friend too…and I don't want to hurt her…
A: I too don't want to hurt her Kripa….But we were best friends…its not as if she will tell no for just talking to u……..
K: Yeah I know…
A: What if I tell u that we are not married then?
K: I won't belive you…
A: Why?
K: Angad there is no point in getting in an argument….I am not feeling well…can we go back please…..Josh must be wondering where I am…..
A: Josh…you are worried about Josh….
K: I am not worried about any one…ok….But he will get upset…if he doesn't finds me…
A: You and he look quite friendly…..He told her as a matter of fact and a little angrily……Kripa could see a hint of jelousy in his words…But he had no reason to be jelous of Josh….
K: We became good friends….
A: Yeah….you can become good friends with Josh, Prithvi, Mishti, Harshini….everyone……except me…..he said bitterly….
K: Kripa sighed….Angad….why are u saying like that….u were and always will be my best friend…..Stop being so childish ok…
A: Yeah…..I am being childish…and u are the saint here….
K: If u don't believe a single word I say, then what is the point of my arguing…..she said a little angrily….
A: Sighing angrily……Sure..I came here to tell u some thing else….Dadi…he looked away…Dadi had an heart attack after u left…just before our marriage… Stunned Kripa looked at him……tears in her eyes...
K: How is she?
A: She is fine now…though weak…she has a nurse to take care of her….and she was confined to bed for 2-3 months.. …. But before that she gave me some thing to send it to u…which I forgot..(he lied…he had wanted to come personally to talk to her…..but did not say so to her) …when we were coming here, I remembered it and bought it to Nainital…but u had already left from the hostel…they gave me Singapore address…I did not have time to give it to u….…and he gave a package to her…..She asked me to tell u….that she loves u very much… she wants u to come and meet her once before leaving India….
K: What is this? She took it…Although the box was big..it was light weight…
A: I don't know….you check it out ur self...Kripa I……
J: There u are….Kripa….why don't u tell some one and go …..
Startled Kripa and Angad looked at Josh……
K: Hey....I…ummm…
J: Its ok…common u two….Dinner will be ready soon and its getting darker….Don't be alone in here…….Both of them nodded and walked away….Angad a little upset....
Kripa went to her tent and sat back….took out the package…..There were small child wolen cap, butties and sweater…both in baby pink and baby blue colour…..Confused Kripa looked down
There was a letter from dadi with it…
Dear Kripa….
I know that u know about the promise that sulebhan and Dilip made…about ur and Angad's marriage..and when u came…I could see the love u have for Angad, I wanted u to be my grand sons wife and bring my great grand children to this world…But I don't think that is possible…Angad has selected his own destination ….I had made this with my own hands, for your children…a long time back…hoping that day will come soon…when you will live with us and have my great grand children..…I could not give u this my self….because….I couldn't bare to see your pain….It would have been easy if u haven't known it I guess…But u do…and I am sorry u have to live with it for ever…I hope u forget Angad…and find some one to love…….and have ur own family….I know it is hard for u…but life does not always lead us to the same path we wished for ……I am sure…there is some prince waiting for u…who will take u away with him and u will have my little grand children and I want them to know that they have a great grand mother some where who loves them very very much…

Kripa's eyes filled with tears…and she cried until there were no more tears in her eyes…Harshini was helping with the dinner…so she came to call Kripa…But seeing Kripa in this state…..she just sat there with her….Fresh tears came from her eyes…..And she hugged harshini and cried her heart out…she showed her Dadi's gift and the letter…….she had not shed a single tear in past 6 months…But she could not control them any more……..
After some time….Harshini asked her if she wanted to have dinner…Kripa shook her head…and Harshini made her sleep………Harshini was quite….at the dinner…Josh asked her if every thing was alright…she said Kripa was not feeling well….Josh looked confused at Harshini…..Some time back she was perfectly alright….He went to check on her…but she was already sleeping….with her head the other side…He softly called to her…but she did not respond…so he went away…telling Harshini to call him if Kripa needed some thing….Angad asked about Kripa to Josh…and Josh told him about Kripa…He too was worried and confused..…..….for next 3 days…Kripa did not come out…Avoided talking to any one…pretending to be asleep….taking bath very early in the morning….Harshini bought her meals to her…in the tent itself….…She just sat there….and looked at the small booties…They were of no use to her…She will never have children….she can never love again…and so there will be no children….She thought of Dadi's words of forgetting angad and starting her life with some one else…But how could she……..no she never can do it………
Josh tried to ask her about what was bugging her…but Kripa said its just some flu..and she need some time to recover…..
After 2 days…Harshini came in…and told her Angad wants to meet her…..Kripa told she did not want to meet any one…….Angad heard her from outside and went Away………He knew…he was the reason Kripa was in such a state…..He has to confess Kripa…tell her his feelings….He felt sad that she did not want to meet him…But he could not do it here…Once they go to Nainital…he would talk to her…make her understand…..Here there was no privacy…and if they go far…they might again get lost….
Next day Angad came to her tent….and opened it…But no one was inside…He should have done it the first night itself when they were alone he thought….Here Kripa always had body guards…..
Kripa was with Josh…..talking to him…She looked up and met his eys….He could see that Kripa had dark circles around her eyes…He frowned with concern……Was she really not well? He thought…..
K: Hi Angad….
A: Hi Josh….Hi Kripa…
J: Hi….
A: How are u feeling Kripa…
K: I am good …thanks…Ummm….I am going back to Nainital with Josh now…..
A: Stunned Angad looked at her…Why? Some thing wrong…? Are u still not feeling well….
K: No..no nothing wrong…Josh got a call from some one..and he has to reach….there as soon as possible…..So I and Harshini are going with him…
J: I told her to stay…but she has made her mind…..So I, Harshini and Kripa are flying by Helicopter…..today…Any way u all enjoy here and can come back tomorrow…with the other instructor….Josh explained…..
Angad could not say any thing…..He turned to Kripa….
A: You are in Nainital for some time right…kripa…
J: Oh yeah…she is…till the end of this month…Josh replied for her…
A: Good I will meet u the day after tomorrow…ok………..
K: Looked at him sadly….ok…she mumbled
Kripa said bye to every one…and went away…Aliyah, Kartik and Mishti were also concerned about Kripa….as she looked absolutely dull...….Angad kept looking at her……He did not have any chance to go with her….He was stuck…
Mishti and Aliyah came near Angad….
M: Angad….Kripa was not herself during this whole trip….
Al: Yeah…she was disturbed and well….in some other world….She did not even talk to us properly…and most of the time she was in the tent with her friend Harshini….
Ka: Do u know the reason behind that Angad……Did she tell u any thing….
M: Her eyes were swollen the day before yesterday…when we met her…as if she had been crying for hours…I am concerned about her….
A: I don't know….any thing….excuse me…and he left for his tent…..Every one looked at him….as to why he was behaving like this….
Ka: May be he is sad as Kripa went away….its ok…he will come around….
M: OK….Lets go..
Kripa, Josh and Harshini…reached the house after an hour….Josh wore his milatry uniform and was off saying he will be late at night……and don't wait for dinner…for him…………..
Kripa went straight to her bedroom and called the travel agent….She booked the next available flight for Singapore, which was next day evening…..She hoped Angad doesn't come by the time…as and then it will be dark till they come…as they are leaving at 10….not at 7 as they..had left from nainital…Harshini did not stop her….thinking…its better for her…if she goes away…She was angry at Angad….How could he do this to Kripa….even after knowing the truth…..Just for money…..She helped Kripa packing her bag...She told her she will come after 15 days as scheduled …..as her mom and dad are coming to meet her….Kripa agreed, she took a sleeping pill which harshini gave her…so that she can sleep…camly through out the night…and at last she was asleep ….Josh came next morning….at around 3….Harshini….was unable to sleep…so she heard him coming home…She went out and told Josh about Kripa leaving tomorrow……….Josh is stunned, but doesn't say any thing..….But tells Harshini to go and sleep…..as he has to go back to the duty….after an hour…..
Next day Its around 12 and still Josh is not home….Kripa has her flight at 4 and she has to start atleast at 2……as the airport is little far….At 2, Harshini called a taxi and she and Kripa left for the airport………Kripa checked in her luggage…said bye to Harshini…and was gone……She sat in the chair waiting for the announcement….Kripa was reading a book…when she felt some one staring at her…She looked up…and saw Angad who was sitting in front row….just opposite to her chair…..Stunned she looked at him with wide eyes…..and thought she was just seeing things…But Angad was there….Angad came towards her…His hands in his jeans…and looked at her….
A: So this is it I guess……u are running again….you will go away and never come back….you wont have any contact with me…nothing….and we will be complete strangers from here…….right….Do u recognize me…or u already forgot….?
Kripa was pissed and doesn't know what to tell or do……..Angad comes and sits next to her….
A: You know Kripa…at one time we were best friends….at one time we were inseperable…..we used to play together…..study together….live together….we shared so much history…that we could never forget those wonderful moments …he said quietly…We were so close….and used to share every single secret with one another….Smallest to tinest things…..then he laughs at her…….and looks out at the planes….but u know the funny part…you kept biggest secret of ur life….in your heart…not even telling me…..who was ur best friend at a time…and that too…which concern's me……
Kripa looked at him…as to what he was referring to…….
A: Then slowly he said it……..U never told me u loved me Kripa….not even once….he looked down at his hands…..his eyes filled with tears…You never told me you kept me in your heart all those years….never mentioned them in mails…..
Stunned Kripa looked at him…….
Angad slowly took out some thing from his pocket and kept it on her lap….
Kripa looked down…and stared at her diary…….her diary……..in which she had written every single important aspect of her life……..
