M: Excuse me…..
Kripa froze in her tracks…..She recognized that voice….Recognized it very well….indeed …
M: can you tell me the way to the base…actually I am lost in the forest…and don't know the way out….If u know…can u please direct me to it……..
Slowly step by step…she turned around to face the person…who was based in every cell of her body…..
K: Hello Angad….
Angad is shocked to see Kripa….there……..He keeps looking at her as if she would vanish…..in few min……He closed his eyes and opens it…..thinking she must have gone by now…..but Kripa was still there….looking at him………
Was it a coincidence……..or their fate………he did not know………
A: Kripa………..Well…what are u doing here….? Well stupid question I guess….if u are here then its quite obvious you are lost too….its getting dark and u are alone…which u never prefer…..And that too in the forest…well..i am lost too….Nice surprise I guess…He knew he was babbling…But he was quite nervous and shocked to see her…Never in the million years he thought he would meet her here…..Her training had already finished almost 2 weeks back….he had inquired about her in the college and hostel, but Kripa had left….from the hostel…..When he asked her address they gave him Singapore address……So he had thought she had already left……….But here she was …in flesh and blood…all alone…in the forest at night…..He knew…that kripa was very much afraid of the dark…
K: Angad…what are u doing here?
A: I came for the camp…I mean Mr. Josh's camp…………..U?
K: Well I came with josh too…
A: He raised his eyebrow….You know Mr. Josh?
K: yeah…He is Harshini's brother….
A: Remembering when he had heard his name…..Oh the same who had accident here?
K: Yeah….
A: OH…OK….You are staying with them…
Kripa nodded….
K: How is Mishty?
Angad looked at her….then replied….showing no emotions….
A: Good….she too came to the camp…and Kartik and Aliyah are here too….
K: Prithvi…?
A: His expressions changed….He was slight jelous at the mention of Prithvi..as to how good friends they have become in such close time….No…..he could not come….Damini aunty was all alone…and even dad needed some help…so he is not here…..
Kripa looked away from him…hiding her pain…how can she stay with them for 10 days….
A: How are u Kripa?
K: Good
A: You never called me….
K: Looking at him …then down at her feet….My cell phone was lost…the new cell phone…did not have ur no..
A: And you never mailed me….
K: I was busy in classes and college…she told him…not meeting his eyes….
A: Did you check ur emails….
K: Shook her head….and lied ….saying no…she never did…
A: Look at me Kripa….with a authoritative tone…..
Kripa looked at him….
A: You are lying…..
K: No I am not …she lied again….Any way…can we talk later…we need to find our way out….it is already dark…..changing the subject…..Angad knew her intentions very well…but he abided……by her….and they started walking…..Angad…marked some trees…writing there names…so if some one comes they would know…..After a while…they both were tired
A: I think …we should stay here….instead of going here and there with out knowing where we are going…
K: Nodded…you are right…Lets rest some where….They walked for another 5 min and saw a flat huge rock…..Angad climbed up…and then held a hand for Kripa to come over…..Kripa took his hand and slowly climbed up, her hands felt tiny under his….she felt his warm fingers…tracing her skin a little…she shivered and pulled her hand back…..as if caught in fire….Suddenly she lost her balance and was about to fall when Angad held her and pulled her towards him……They both fell on the rock and she was in his arms… …They stared at each other......Lost in each others eyes…....Then Angad pulled out suddenly…and asked her to sit there and he will come in 2-3 min…Kripa was disappointed, because he pulled away….He had got the love he deserved from Mishti….so he was naturally happy with her….she thought sadly……He climbed down and collected a bundle of some dried sticks….with him…..and handed it to Kripa…….
When he climbed again….he took the sticks…without looking at Kripa….Kept it down…..on the rocks….Took a small bottle…..of kerosene….he dropped half a bottle on the sticks and taking a lighter started a fire….He took out two cans of coke and handed one to Kripa….She had forgotten about how thirsty she was….She took the coke and thanked him and drank a little…They sat there in silence sipping there coke…each lost in their own thoughts….Kripa was thinking about how she will spend the next 10 days….with Angad and Mishty….Mishty was a good friend…but still she was Mrs. Angad Khanna….After a while she was feeling sleepy…she was tired to death………Angad on the other hand was still in shock to find Kripa there….How he had dreamt about her…He knew by the looking at her that she has avoided any contact with him…and he knew the reason too………He wanted to tell her some thing…when he looked at Kripa again….she was already asleep with her bag under her head…He looked at her, sleeping peacefully……her face glowing in the fire light………..He went near her…and touched her cheeks…with love. Then he too kept his bag besides Kripa's and slept behind her…with his arms protectively around Kripa, putting his jacket over both of them………..to keep them warm at night….Kripa snuggled closer …to him and was asleep again …
Sunlight washed there faces……and Kripa …opened her eyes…..First thing she did was close her eyes again with her hand….as the harsh sun light stung ……..Then she looked down…She felt an arm around her….and Angad's jacket….It felt so nice to get up in the morning in his arms……..She slightly turned to see his face….when she saw his eyes were open …looking directly at her…….Their eyes met……and he slowly kissed her cheeks…
A: Good morning…..
K: Good morning….
Kripa started getting up and Angad did not stop her…He pulled out his hand from her….and helped her to sit up….
A: Did u sleep well? He asked with a twinkle in his eyes…
K: Yeah very well she said with out looking at him….
They both got up and Angad saw the time…
A: I did not know it was so late…
K: Kripa saw the time …It was close to 10….she was surprised to see that they have slept so late….
A: May be yesterday's trecking took its toll…
K; I guess so….
A: you want some water…I have two more bottles…
K: Yeah…I want some…
Angad took out a bottle and handed it to Kripa…..
Kripa drank some water…
K: what should we do now? Should we be on the way?
A: No…I think it's better to stay and wait for them here only…..
K: Ok…
A: So…how was your music course….
K: It was good…I performed with the team in Delhi too…and got an award…
A: Vow….thats wonderful… I Guess…I could not be a rockstar…may be u can….
K: Nah…..I am not into the rock…Its classical music…
A: Still u can be a star…
K: No Angad…it was just a hobby….
A: You came all the way here to India…leaving ur family only to learn a hobby….? He knew why she came…but he wanted her to admit it…….
K: shrugging….it seemed like a good idea…at that time…
A: How about now…
K: thinking now …it doesn't seem like good any more….
A: Why…?
K: Again shrugging…I feel lonely…I miss mom and dad….I guess…this is the first time I am away from them…
A: Then why didn't u return back to Singapore…..?
K: Well Josh asked me to stay …for some time…So I stayed….
A: When I asked u to stay in Mumbai…you didn't….
K: That was different…
A: How is that different..?
K: Trust me …it was…
A: But how? He pursued…
K: Thinking for a little time…as to how she should answer it……well….Harshini needed me…and I had my classes ….and well…harshini helped me a lot…I wanted to help her too….
A: Hmmm…
K: So how is everyone at home…? And how is the company….?
A: Everyone is fine….and company is thriving…You won't believe it…but it had doubled the pofit in last 6 months…
K: Looking sad…well that's good….wonderful…everyone must be very happy about it
A: Yeah…. All are happy….Kripa I want to tell………………His voice was cut with the intruder…..
J: Here u are……….
Kripa looked up and saw Josh….standing there….a hand on his hip……..
K: Josh…..She started climbing down….in a hurry….and josh caught her….and bought her down….Kripa came down and hugged Josh tightly……
K: I am so sorry josh….because of me again…u had gotten worried…….
J: Hugging her…its ok Kripa…you are safe…that's all matters……any way it was my responsibility to see all are there or not…I was distracted and u were lost…It was not ur fault but mine….
Kripa hugged him again…
K: No it was mine….Josh laughed at her
J:ok…we will decide that when we reach the camp….ok….
K: Sure…whatever….
Angad was looking at Josh and kripa…He got frustrated…as to why Kripa was hugging Josh…and how close they were….Josh still had a hand on Kripa….and Angad felt anger rising…..
Josh looked up…
J: Hey u must be Angad…..
A: Yeah…..
Josh gave his hand for shaking it….Angad shook his hand….
J: Josh….
A: Nice to meet u…
J: Thanks man…if u would have not been with Kripa….she would have been in some cave or some thing…..She is so afraid of dark… and then Josh laughed …with twinkle in his eyes….she keeps her lights on at night…Kripa hit him on his back…..and rolled her eyes….
J: Ouch…what was that for…
K: For embarrassing me…….
J: Oh ok…any way…I was worried about her…Thanks for ur support…and thanks for the marks on the trees….we could not have found you if it weren't there….I am sure…you did that…as I don't think Kripa would have remembered it….She just must have panicked ….
K: Hitting Josh again…Stop it Josh..I am not a child ok….getting irritated………
J: Yeah…..but u need more care than a child….
K: Rolling her eyes….I don't want to argue with u…and she started walking…
J: Well good…no one argues with Josh…
K: Yeah except Harshini…
J: Well that's why I run from her…..but u are good kid….
K: Yeah what ever….laughing Josh gave her a bear hug , He climbed up…took Kripa's bag. Jumped down and put a protective arm on her….
Angad was surprised that josh knew so much about Kripa…..And he was hating it….
J: Oh common now…we will go…it will take 2 hours
And he dragged Kripa with him..and left Angad to follow them….
