Part 4

Maya just starts laughing and so he keeps asking what he did wrong, and at this point they both are walking through the doors.

Maya sees Arushi standing near the information desk and so she goes towards her with Rahul following her.

"Rahul, this is Arushi, my roommate and friend. Aru, this is Rahul, or rather Dr. Khanna." Maya introduces them.

Rahul goes to the receptionist in the front and asks whether or not he can help out in any way during this accident. She tells him that because his paperwork and things are filed he can't actually operate but he can help out in recovery and in ICU. And because Maya and Arushi are not yet certified and are still only doing residency that is all they both can do too.

So while they are all doing things around in recovery and in the ICU, Maya and Rahul keep bumping into each other, whether purposely or accidently, but they do. While Arushi keeps giving Maya "looks" from the other side.

Finally when they finish,

"Whew! Thank-god we're done, haven't done that in awhile." Rahul says.

"Oh I know...today was supposed to be my day off!" Maya agrees with him.

Arushi, who was walking slightly ahead of the two, turns around and gives Maya a glare.

Rahul, who caught that look, turns to Maya, "What was all that about?"

"She's just pointing out that we both have no right to complain since she's been here since 3 in the afternoon yesterday, and now it's basically 8 in the morning." Maya explains to a clueless Rahul.

"O...k...." He says, still slightly confused.

Then Arushi stops suddenly in front and mutters, "Pluto!"

She turns back and starts walking back to the children's waiting room. Maya takes her lead and runs back too.

"What in the world?" Rahul stands there confused.

Maya calls over her shoulder, "We forgot Pluto!"

On the way back, Maya starts explaining how she met Rahul, and how he came with her, and basically everything she knew Arushi would want to know.

"And he seems like a really nice guy, but I wasn't sure, which is why I made you do a check on him." Maya explains.

"I never asked." Arushi says quietly.

"But you've wanted to know since the minute we walked in." Maya smiles while saying.

Arushi does her usual look of guiltiness, and says, "Ok. Fine, maybe I did."

They both laugh and then as they arrive by the children's waiting room. Pluto barks once seeing them, and then he slides towards them, looking as though he was going to crash, but right in the nick of time, he skids to a stop.

"We're both so sorry Pluto!" They both say.

He stares at them again, and waits a few seconds before barking, letting them know that it's all okay.

They walk with Pluto back to the entrance lobby where they left Rahul, but to their surprise he's not there. Arushi stands back for a second, while surprisingly Maya keeps walking towards the automatic doors.

"Aren't you going to look for him, or at least wait for him?" Arushi questioned Maya.

"Nope." Maya calmly answered.

"Why though? Don't you think its common courtesy?" Arushi commented.

"If we're destined to meet again, we will. There's no reason I should stress about him." Maya says.

"You both work in the same hospital; you're bound to see each other again." Arushi said.

"Well then I'll see him around. Now let's go, I'm so sleepy." Maya says. Maya then gives Arushi a quick look and, "But I'm sure you're definitely more tired than me."

As Maya and Arushi left the hospital, Maya quickly looked over her shoulder, once, just to be sure that Rahul wasn't somewhere there. Weeks passed after that first initial meeting, and Maya and Rahul would continue to meet on an occasional basis. Then during the month of February, Rahul, being a senior doctor had to choose three students/interns to be under his guidance at the hospital and he chose Maya, Arushi, and a guy named Sahil.

As Maya and Rahul meet each other more regularly after this new teaching arrangement, they get to know each other more and find many things in common between them.
Then comes a day where only Arushi, and Rahul are working together and Maya and Sahil have the day off. The two of them go on their rounds with their patients and during the times when they are not with their patients, Rahul tries to interrogate Arushi about Maya.
Arushi looks at him suspiciously as she still finds him kind of mysterious. Yet she still answers all his questions without being rude or giving away too much detail.

"Why are you asking me all these questions anyways?" Arushi asks him after he's silent for a moment.

"Oh....just wondering. Actually I like to take an interest in all my students." He answers back.

"Oh really?"

Rahul nods.

"I'm your student too." Arushi smiles.

"Oh...right." He remembers.

Arushi smiles at him and walks away, while he's standing there wondering, "What the hell just happened?"

Then he realises that Arushi went off to see the next patient and so he hurriedly goes after her, and as he's talking to the patient, he passes questioning glances along to Arushi.

"I better find out more about this "Dr. Khanna" before these two realize that they like each other." Arushi thinks.

After their done with that patient, the both start walking down the hall and, then,

"Ok, it's your turn to answer my standard questions now." He says.

Arushi patiently answers them until he finishes and then,

"Ok you're done?" She asks. Rahul nods. "My turn now...."

Arushi asks him some standard questions, like where he's from, about his family, and things he likes and that's when she concludes that he's actually a pretty decent guy.

"So only one little sister?" Arushi asks.

"Yeah...definitely more than enough. It's hard to handle her and my brother in law." Rahul answers.

"Oh, she's married?"

"To my best friend, yes. I was totally shocked when I found out." Rahul says.

They both laugh, and Arushi's shift finally ends, while Rahul still has to stay there for two more hours.
She comes home, and she tells Maya everything she found out about Rahul, and everything he asked about her.

"Why are you telling me all this?" Maya asks confused.

"You'll figure it out soon enough." Arushi says mischievously as she heads into her room for a shower.

By then it's time for Maya to go to the hospital. She catches Rahul in the main lobby, right as he's about to leave.

That's it for this part!! Whew pretty long na? 😉 😆

Meeru!!! Thanks for such a looong update 😉...and what a great one!! 👏 Really got to know the characters personalitly in this one so you can get a better understanding of the characters so well done! 👏..

At first I though Arushi line maar rahi thi Rahul ko when she said "I'm your student too" 😆 but then I understood her intentions...lol..

So why was Maya not intersted on Rahul's info? Is she one of those types that doesn't show her true feelings?? 😛

Awsome update once again..😃
