Part Twenty

Anjali: OMG! I'm so happy to see you guys.

Prerna: Hey, lets go inside, we can talk in there

Kashish sighed.

Kashish: Uff…You and you're food.

Anjali: Doesn't look like as if you've changed one bit

Prerna: Funny…very funny

The threesome started to laugh, while they walked back into the caf. They went up to the nearest table they could see and sat down. The waiter came and Prerna gave the order for dinner.

Kashish: I can't believe this…how long has it been since we last met?

Anjali sat there thinking to herself.

Anjali: Erm…around 5 years or so?

Prerna: Really…that long?

Anjali: Yes that long…How have you guys been anyway? I mean I haven't seen you guys here…When did you come…

Prerna: Hey…slow down will you…one at a time

Kashish: That's great coming from someone who talks a lot.

The waiter came back with three coffees and Prerna's lunch.

Prerna: I do not talk a lot

Anjali: Hey…do you have to talk with your mouthful…you definitely haven't changed.

Prerna: Neither have you

Kashish: Honestly…I thought Prerna was bad enough to deal with…but Anjali…even you haven't changed either…you two always used to argue.

Anjali: What about you?

Kashish was surprised.

Kashish: What about me?

Prerna: Hey…Have we come here to catch up or just argue?...come on guys

Both Kashish and Anjali looked at Prerna.

Prerna: Okay…that just didn't seem right coming from me, did it?

Anjali smiled back at her.

Anjali: It sounded great

There was a brief silence between them.

Anjali: So are you guys here on vacation or have you…

Kashish: Well put it this way, we're here for a very very long time.

This made Anjali ecstatic.

Anjali: What!!!

Kashish: It's a long story…Prerna came here over a year ago…and I…

Anjali: WHAT!!!!!!

This hurt Anjali and made her really angry at Prerna.

Anjali: You mean to say, you've been here for over a year and you didn't even bother to contact me…some friend you've turned out to be!

Kashish: Anjali relax

But Anjali wasn't willing to listen, she was even about to get up and leave, but then Kashish stopped her.

Kashish: Anjali…relax…

Anjali: What relax?...And what about you? How long have you been here?

Kashish: At least listen to what I have to tell you…then if you want to leave then fine.

Anjali calmed down.

Kashish: Prerna came here over a year ago, for an interview, about a job at the hospital.

Kashish looked at Prerna. Anjali noticed that Prerna had stopped eating, she was just looking down.

Kashish: But when she phoned up to let her parents know about how well the interview went, she got the news that…that…

Tears started to form in Prerna's eyes, but she didn't even wipe them away. She just sat there, frozen.

Anjali: Prerna, why are you…

She then looked at Kashish.

Anjali: Kashish, what happened?

Kashish: She got news over the phone, that her…her parents had died in a car crash, while they were coming back from the airport…after seeing her off.

Prerna couldn't control herself, she just got up from her seat and ran out.

Anjali: Prerna…wait!!!

Anjali ran out after her, with Kashish following after her.

Anjali managed to catch up with Prerna and grabbed her hand.

Anjali: Prerna

Prerna didn't say anything, she just turned towards Anjali and saw that even she had tears in her eyes. Prerna put her arms around Anjali and hugged her.

Anjali: I'm sooooo sorry…Prerna…I didn't mean to….

Prerna: It's okay…I know…I can understand…

Anjali: No…I was wrong…please…please…forgive

Prerna stopped Anjali from saying anything else.

Gradually they started making their way back to the caf, but this time they didn't go in, they just sat outside.

Anjali: I shouldn't have…

Prerna: It's okay…it doesn't matter…

Prerna sighed.

Prerna: You know…when I went back, my whole world had come crashing down…there I was making my parents dreams come true and when the time came, they weren't around to see them come true.

Kashish: You were also going to give them up…

Prerna looked up at Kashish, as she sat down next to Prerna. Anjali looked at Kashish.

Kashish: About 2 months after, she received a letter through the post, telling her that she got the job…guess what this idiot was going to do…

Prerna: I was going to tear up the letter, when Kashish stopped me…

Anjali: What?

Prerna: I know…at the time I was thinking, what's the point, my parents weren't here anymore to see this come true…but then…

Kashish: You even turned on me…didn't you…

Prerna: But it was you who made me see sense, and made me take this opportunity to make those dreams come true…you convinced me that by making them come true, I was going to keep my parents alive inside me.

Anjali: She's right and I'm glad you took the chance up

Prerna looked at both of them and smiled.

Prerna: So am I

Anjali: One thing though…

Prerna: What?

Anjali: Sorry to say…but you're the last doctor I'd come to…

Prerna instantly got up.

Prerna: Oh really…well if you were the last patient on the planet…even then I wouldn't treat you

Kashish: Oh here we go again…you know what I just give up.

They all stared at each other for a few seconds and then they started to laugh.

Kashish: OH NO!!!!!!

Prerna: What?

Kashish realised she had left her bag inside the caf.

Kashish: I've left my bag inside the caf.

Prerna and Anjali started to snigger.

Kashish: Hey…its not funny you know

Anjali: Well hurry then...go and get it…

Kashish ran back inside.

Prerna: Oh Anjali…I haven't got your number

Anjai: Oh yeah

Anjali got her phone out and saw a message on her phone.

Anjali: Oh I've got a voice mail.

Anjali listened to it.

Prerna saw the look on Anjali's face. She was shocked and looked worried.

Prerna: Anjali…what's wrong…is everything okay?

Anjali: It's Kripa, she's collapsed…

Prerna: What?...Hang on I'll come with you.

Anjali: No its okay…the doctor has already been…look I'll see you guys later.

Prerna: Yeah sure...let me know as soon as you get home.

Anjali: Will do

Anjali was about to leave, when Prerna stopped her.

Prerna: Anjali…wait…here…you forgot to get my number

Prerna wrote her number on a piece of paper for Anjali.

Anjali: Thanks…here's mine…I'll call you later

Anjali gave Prerna, her number as well and then left.

Kashish came back out of the caf.

Kashish: Where's Anjali?

Prerna told her about what had happened.

Kashish: Oh no…poor Anjali…I hope Kripa will be alright.

Prerna: Yeah me too…Hey did you get your bag back?

Kashish: Yes luckily

Prerna: Oh good…Hey, I've given my number to Anjali, so she can keep contact…

Kashish: Great…Are you going back now?

Prerna: Yeah, I've had long enough time for my break as it is.

Kashish: Okay I'll see you at home then…

Prerna: Sure…see you later

Kashish: See you later

Prerna walked towards the hospital and Kashish walked towards the bus stop. As she was walking she suddenly stopped.

Kashish: Kripa?...Wasn't that the same name Kavya mentioned?...Even she had collapsed…Could it be?

Meanwhile back at the house, Angad was still sat beside Kripa, changing the cloths. Not even once did he let go of her hand. He just sat there staring at her and hoping she would open her eyes.

Sujal: How is she?

Angad turned around and saw Sujal and he sighed.

Angad: Her temperature has come down a bit.

Sujal: Well at least that's something…here…

Sujal handed Angad, a cup of tea.

Sujal: Looks like you need this

Angad: Thanks…Errr…Have you managed to get through to Anjali.

Sujal: Oh yeah…she's on her way…I'm telling you, she freaked out…

Angad: What do you expect

KT: Sujal Bhaiya!

KT was calling Sujal, from downstairs.

Sujal: I'll just go and see what she wants.

Sujal left the room. Angad was about to change Kripa's cloth, when he realised that he had ran out of clean ones.

Angad: Suj…

It was too late, Sujal had already gone downstairs. He decided to go down and get some clean cloths himself. He didn't feel like leaving Kripa, but he knew he had to. So he got up and was about to walk away, when he heard Kripa speak.

Kripa: Don't leave me…

Angad turned and saw that Kripa was holding his hand.

Angad: Kripa

Angad went down to her side and tried talking to her

Angad: Kripa…I'm here…

But Kripa didn't reply back or anything. She had passed out again.

Prem: What happened?

Angad: She spoke…I…I heard her…

Prem: Well that's great for you…

Angad: What do you mean?

Prem: Nothing…I was just saying…it's great at least she's said something…it's a good sign.

Angad: Yes…it is…and that's enough from you…

Prem shrugged.

Prem: What did I say?

Before Angad could say something, Anjali came running into the room. She ran up to Kripa's side.

Anjali: Kripa…Kripa…say something…it's me your didi…please say something…come on now open your eyes and look…

Anjali looked up at Angad.

Anjali: Tell her to open her eyes…she's probably doing this because I shouted at her

Angad went up to Anjali and put his hand on her shoulder.

Angad: Anjali…relax…the doctor has been and he's said she'll be fine

But Anjali wasn't listening. She felt so helpless, by seeing Kripa in this condition.

Angad: Anjali…listen to me…calm down…Kripa will be fine…trust me…she's fine.

Anjali looked at Kripa and then at Angad. She then gradually started to calm down. She just sat there holding Kripa's hand.

Angad then saw Kavya standing in the doorway. So he walked up to him.

Angad: You might as well come in…she needs you…I'm just…I'm just going to get some more cloths.

Kavya went in, as Angad walked out. He went up to Anjali and sat down beside her. He put his hand on her shoulder. Anjali turned and saw Kavya. Immediately she hugged him.

Anjali: Kavya…Kripa…Kripa…she's…

Kavya: She'll be fine…just you wait and see

A few hours or so had gone by and Anjali and Kavya hadn't moved from Kripa's side. All of a sudden, Anjali's phone started ringing. Kavya picked it up, no name was showing, only a number.

Anjali: Who is it?

Kavya wasn't sure whether or not he should give the phone to Anjali,

Anjali: Kavya, who is it?

Kavya: It's errrr….showing just a number…no name…

Anjali: No name?...Oh it might be….

Anjali remembered that it might be Prerna, because she gave her the number. So she got the phone off Kavya.

Anjali: Hello?

Prerna: Hi Anjali

Anjali: Oh Hi!

Prerna: Just thought I'd phone to ask how is Kripa?

Anjali: She's still unconscious…I just wish she'd…

Prerna: Yeah I know…she'll be fine don't you worry…has her temperature come down yet?

Anjali: Yes it has…a lot better than before

Prerna: Oh that's great…Er…Listen if you want to meet up or anything…we're here for you.

Anjali: Yeah I know, I just want to see her open her eyes again.

Prerna: She will believe me

Anjali: Hey…listen…I'm sorry for having a go at you earlier

Prerna: Look I've already said its fine…if you say sorry again, I swear to you, I won't talk to you again

Anjali: Okay…okay don't get angry now

Prerna: That's more like it…listen I have to go now…I'll phone later on…If you want to meet up for a bit later on, then let me know.

Anjali: I will do…thanks

Prerna: Bye

Anjali: Bye

Anjali then smiled, as she felt a little better after talking to Prerna.

Kavya: Who was it?

Anjali put on a serious face.

Anjali: Oh it was someone from my past.

Kavya: What?...Who?

Anjali: Oh it was just someone…don't worry I've got you now…

Kavya: So why was he phoning you?

Anjali: When did I say it was a he?

Kavya: Er…Erm….

Anjali: What…Er…Erm? What are you trying to say? Don't you trust me? Is that what you're trying to say?

Kavya started to feel guilty, but yet kind of confused.

Kavya: Anjali…I didn't mean it like that…I was just….

Anjali: No what?

Kavya: I wasn't accusing you of anything…I was just…

But then Anjali couldn't hold it, so she started to snigger.

Kavya: What's going on?

Anjali: Relax I was just messing with you…I wanted to see the look on your face….

Kavya: Meaning?

Anjali: Meaning…it wasn't a guy from my past…it was an old friend…a female friend…she just phoned up to ask about Kripa.

Kavya: Really…is she pretty?

Anjali: Yeah…she…

But then Anjali stopped.

Anjali: What is that supposed to mean?

Kavya: Oh nothing…I was just asking…

Anjali: Meaning?

Kavya: Meaning, what you were doing to me, I'm doing it back to you.

Anjali playfully smacked Kavya and then hugged him.

Kavya: What's her name?

Anjali: Prerna…she was asking about Kripa….we met after like 5 years…

Kavya: Really…that long…bet you must have been happy…

Anjali: Yeah…She was asking if we could meet up later on…

Kavya: So why don't you go?

Anjali: I can't can I…

Anjali looked at Kripa.

Kavya: Look don't worry about Kripa…you look as though you could do with going out…I'm here…I can take care of Kripa.

Anjali: But I will be worried about her all the time, if I go.

Suddenly Anjali, heard Kripa groan. She turned and saw Kripa slowly opening her eyes.

Anjali: Kripa?

Anjali rushed over to Kripa's side.

Anjali: Kripa…Kripa…Look it's me…It's didi

Kripa: Didi

She sounded so weak and frail. Anjali couldn't contain her delight after hearing Kripa's voice. She was soooo happy.

Anjali: Thank god, you're fine.

Kripa: Didi, why are you crying for?

Anjali wiped her tears away.

Anjali: I'm not crying you silly…I'm just happy to hear your voice.

Kripa: Liar…I know you too well…You can never lie to me

Anjali: You know me too well…I…I was soooo worried about you.

Kavya: We all were

Kripa looked ahead and saw Kavya.

Kripa: Hey

Kavya: How are you feeling now?

Kripa: Weak…feel like as if someone has smashed a brick over my head.

Kavya: Well it wasn't me

Kripa could only muster a small smile, with the energy she had left.

Kavya: Oh here…you have to take this medication

Kripa: What? Noooooo…didi…I don't want…

Anjali: Ssssshhhh…you didn't listen to me earlier and see what happen…now you're going to have to listen to me

Anjali then fed Kripa her medication.

Kripa: It tastes bitter

Anjali: It would do…now get some rest…you'll feel better later

Kripa: How did I get here anyway?...I mean I remember leaving the room, but then its all blurry.

Kavya: Angad, brought you back in here…you collapsed outside the room…he's even been taking care of you non stop, since you collapsed.

Kripa: Angad…Where is he?

Angad: I'm here

Kripa looked up and saw Angad standing in the doorway.

Kavya looked at Anjali.

Kavya: Lets…er…lets go out for a bit.

Anjali: Where?

Kavya just grabbed hold of Anjali and walked out with her.

Anjali: Kavya, where are you? What are we doing out here?

Back in the room Angad slowly walked over to Kripa.

Angad: Hey, how are you feeling?

Kripa: A lot better than before…thanks for helping me…didi told me that you brought me back in here and took care of me.

Angad: Yeah…It was nothing…you gave us quite a scare, when you collapsed.

Kripa: What about you?

Angad: What about me?

Kripa: I heard you took care of me more than anyone else…In fact you freaked out more than anyone.

Angad: Well like I said you gave quite a scare, I mean I saw you collapse…

Kripa: Thanks…for…you know…

Angad: Yeah…I know…Erm…Er…

Kripa: What's up…Is there anything else you want to say?

Angad: No…no…You just get some rest…you'll feel better later on…I'll be back in a bit.

Angad walked out of the room, while Kripa smiled behind him.

Kripa: I already know what you wanted to say, because I heard you when you were talking to me, but you didn't finish it…but I will make sure you say what's in your heart to me…one way or another.

Meanwhile in Kavya's room.

Anjali: What are you doing? Why did you bring me in here?

Kavya: Try and understand

Anjali: Understand what?

Kavya: Don't tell me you haven't noticed…Angad…Kripa…

Anjali: What? You mean…You're joking right…

Kavya: No I'm being serious

Anjali was surprised.

Anjali: But Kripa is only a kid…I mean she's only…

But then she stopped.

Kavya: Yes only…

Anjali: God…time has flown so fast…I didn't even realise that my Kripa had grown up so quickly.

Kavya: Yeah…that's true…and anyway, what about us?

Kavya put his arms around her, but Anjali broke free and ran downstairs. Kavya went down after her. But then Anjali stopped, as KT, Sujal, Sneha and Prem were watching them. Anjali just slowly made her way over to Sneha and sat down.

Sneha: Didi, how is Kripa? I want to see her.

Anjali: Sneha…relax, she's fine…she's woken up, but now she's resting again.

Sneha: Really…

Anjali: Yes, so just relax

Kavya also sat down as well.

Sujal: What's going on?...You two…

Both Kavya and Anjali looked at each other.

Kavya: Bhaiya, you tell her…She's met a friend of hers after 5 years, but she's not going to meet up with her, because she was worried about Kripa, but now she's fine and I'm trying to tell her to go and see her friend…I mean we're here to look after Kripa, but she's not listening.

Anjali: It's not that…

Sujal: Anjali, you should go…you haven't seen her for 5 years…you should definitely go…don't worry about Kripa, we're here aren't we.

Anjali: But….

Sujal: We'll call you, if we need you, okay? Now go and enjoy.

Anjali: Okay

Anjali picked up her handbag and walked past Kavya. She looked at him angrily and whispered to him.

Anjali: Consider yourself lucky…I'm going to sort you out later.

Then she left.

Anjali got out her phone and dialled Prerna's number.

Anjali: Hey Prerna…good news Kripa has opened her eyes…she's fine now…

Prerna: Really that's great news…

Anjali: Hey if you still want to meet up, then yeah I can see you…

Prerna: Really…well come on over to our house…Kashish is home, I'll be a little late though…

Anjali: Great…what's the address?

Prerna gave Anjali her address.

Anjali: Great I'll be there…you just better hurry up and get there.

Prerna: I will….oooooooo I can't wait…the three of us back together.

Anjali: Yeah same here…so hurry

Meanwhile back at Kashish's house, Kashish had taken a shower and changed her clothes, when all of a sudden she heard someone ringing the door bell. So she went and opened the door.

Kashish: OMG! Anjali!

Anjali: Hey! Thank God, I was wondering if I got the right house or not.

Kashish: How did you get the address?

Anjali: Prerna…I phoned her and she told me…

Kashish: You mean she knew…you just wait till that Prerna ki bachi comes home.

Anjali: Oh come on now…and anyway can I come in?

Kashish: Oh...I am so sorry…come on in…

Anjali came in and looked around, as she walked behind Kashish.

Anjali: Tell you one thing though, I'm surprised the house is this tidy, especially with Prerna living here.

Kashish: Tell me about it, I have to do all the tidying up around here…but…but you didn't hear that from me.

Anjali: I'll keep quite

Kashish: Hey make yourself comfortable, I'll be back in a minute.

Kashish disappeared for a minute.

Kashish: Hey Anjali, can you phone Prerna and find out how long will she be?

Anjali: Yeah sure

Anjali pulled out her phone.

Kashish: Use the house phone…put your phone away…

Anjali: Are you sure?

Kashish: Stop being formal will you, this is your house as well.

Anjali looked for the phone but couldn't find it.

Anjali: I can't find the phone

Kashish: It's probably on the table somewhere.

Anjali looked for the phone on the table. She managed to find it, but as she did, she knocked over a book off the table.

Anjali: Damn

Anjali knelt down and picked it up and was shocked to see that on a page, it was written in big letters, inside a heart…I LOVE KAVYA!!!!

Really sorry if the layout is in a mess, I've had to post it in a rush. I will try and sort the layout out tomorrow. Or if you prefer the layout to be like this, then plz let me know. ENJOY!!!!!
