No problemo! Yaar, Raj just took 10 laddoos, he ate only one! Par phir bhi, insaan se galti ho jaati hai and doesn't it look good when Raj shows some jealousy instead of being so very selfless?

Dear Readers,

After every 10 parts I'll be writing an interlude sorta thing. So after chap. 10 you can expect:

Untold Conversations:I'll be continuing the convos. I left at the end of chaps. for eg: Rajveer-Huda in chap.2

Real Intentions: The characters aren't going to KMA for obvious reasons. What they really mean to do there, all in this part!

Cadet/Faculty Profile: About the new cadets at KMA and extra faculty.

Chapter 9: Mentor-Protegee meet

"Sir..." Naina said gazing fixedly at Colonel Rajveer, "I had no idea you were here! If I would have known, I would definitely have..." She stopped abruptly. For a while, there was an uncomfortable silence between the two.

Finally Rajveer broke the ice, "It's a pleasure to meet you too, Dr. Ahluwalia." "Umm, well, umm," Naina stammered, "the weather's nice today, isn't it?" "Well, yes if you consider a downpour pleasant."

"Hey, you two have finally met!" Abhimanyu smiled, as he walked in, "You forgot your plate with me, Naina."

"Oh, how silly of me!"

"Here you go," Abhimanyu said handing her the plate. He then noticed the plate containing the laddoos, "So, it was you who took those laddoos, and you didn't even eat them! You know how much Naina was irritated on not finding any laddoos remaining?"

"Please have them then, you're most welcome Dr. Ahluwalia!" Rajveer said motioning towards the plate. "No thanks Colonel Rajveer," Naina replied angrily, "I don't like eating anything from somebody else's plate."

"Ah, there you are!" Alekh said jovially as he walked inside the balcony, "Naina, the DJ's playing your favorite song, come dance!" "No, I'm not in the mood really," Naina feebly protested as Alekh dragged her out into the hall. They waltzed around as Neelu smiled at them.

She turned to see her daughter, now awake, literally sticking to her Uncle Yudi. Aashna had wrapped her arms and legs around Yudi's left leg and was not refusing to let go. The song ended and Alekh and Naina returned panting, with flushed faces.

"You're a pretty good dancer Naina," Nellu complimented her, "I'm really glad you'll be at KMA with Alekh. I don't trust him, he's capable of resuming his drinking. Please keep a watch on him, will you?" "Of course!" Naina laughed as Alekh hugged his wife in a playful manner.

Rajveer and Abhimanyu walked out of the balcony, towards Naina, Alekh and Neelu. "Hey!" Abhimanyu said, "I must say, the party and the DJ are great!" "Thanks, Sir!" Alekh replied. "Hey, this song is a great one, why don't you guys dance?" Yudi asked them, holding a squirming Aashna in his arms.

"Well, err..." Alekh said. "Oh, come on! You guys must dance," Naina said. Aashna stopped squirming and began making excited sounds. "OK then, but only if Naina dances!" Alekh said looking at Abhimanyu.

"No can do!" Abhimanyu replied, "I think I had just a little more food than I should have." "Yudi?" Alekh asked. "Nope, Aashna isn't going to remain quiet if I leave her now." "Hey, Raj why don't you go ahead?" Abhimanyu asked.

Shocked Rajveer and Naina jerked their heads up, only to meet each others eyes. They quickly looked down, the colour rising in their cheeks. "No, I don't feel well," Naina said lamely. "Oh, come on!" Alekh said forcibly putting Naina's hand in Rajveer's.

They both felt slightly embarassed and at the end, had to agree. Rajveer led Naina to the 'dance floor' and offered his hand. Hesitantly, she gave her hand in his. She slowly wrapped her other arm around his neck and he, around her waist.

They began dancing slowly as the soft music played. They couldn't help but gaze into each others eyes, feeling each other's breath on their faces and inhaling each other's own special fragrances. It was just like the evening when Rajveer had trained Naina in ballroom dancing.

She was his protegee Cadet Naina 'Ah' Singh and he was her beloved Rajveer Sir, once again. But yet, there was some vague tension between the two. Something that they had never experienced before among themselves, something that provided them a strange feeling of security when they were with each other.

The song stopped playing and Naina hurriedly ran towards the door, picking up her handbag and wet clothes on the table. She blew a kiss to her goddaughter and waved to the couple as she briskly walked out of the room.

"I wonder what happened to her," Rajveer thought to himself. "She was probably reminded of something, or rather, someone," a voice spoke from behind Rajveer. He turned around, startled, to see Abhimanyu at his shoulder. "Who could that be!" Rajveer half-laughed, though he knew quite well the moments spent with which person Naina had remembered.
