Chapter 2 Part 2

Meanwhile, down at the City Central Hospital, Rebecca and Akbal, one of Sean's best friends, waited outside Amanda's room, while they waited for the doctor. Out of all of Sean's friends, Akbal was one of the few who stood by Sean. She wasn't there at the time, to support him, but she still believed that Sean could never do anything as atrocious as raping Sarah. By the time Akbal had come back from her holiday, it was too late to do anything, as Sean had already left the city.

All Rebecca and Akbal could think about was, how happy they used to be in the past and now the present just seemed like one big nightmare. None of it seemed real. Neither Akbal nor Rebecca were sure whether the past was a beautiful dream or the present was just one big horrible nightmare. So much had happened after Sean had left.

Suddenly Rebecca heard the door open from Amanda's room and Judy, the doctor came out. Judy was a close friend of Rebecca and Amanda's mother.
"What's happened – Can I see Amanda?" asked Rebecca frantically.
"Err… Rebecca, it's…its not good news I'm afraid" Judy sighed. "Amanda has had a miscarriage"
Tears started to form in Rebecca's eyes. She tried to hold them back but she couldn't control herself and she just started to cry. All she could think about was, how much Amanda wanted this baby. She was just ecstatic over the thought of becoming a mother. But now even that piece of happiness was cruelly taken away, by fate. Akbal came up to Rebecca and hugged her, trying to calm her down. Trying to assure her that she had to be strong now for Amanda, as there was no-one else now.
"Does Amanda know about this?" asked Akbal.
"Yes, she does, which is why Rebecca has to be strong for her" replied Judy.
Rebecca and Akbal were just about to walk into the room, but were stopped by Andy, Amanda's boyfriend.
"What's happened, is Amanda okay?" asked Andy.
Andy just stood there while, Judy explained to him, about what had happened. Andy just stood there, frozen to the ground. There wasn't any emotion showing on his face, not even a single tear fell from his eyes.
"Andy, only you can save her now…she needs you to be there for her" said Rebecca, as she wiped away her tears.
"Don't worry I'll sort everything out"

Andy then walked into the room, followed closely by Akbal and Rebecca.
Amanda just laid there in her bed. She didn't move. Not even once. Her face was facing towards the window, at the dark empty sky. She remembered that her dad once said that, if you ever saw a shooting star and made a wish, it would surely come true. She was just staring at the sky, waiting for a shooting star, so she could wish to see her baby again. But like everything else that had left her life, this was something that could never come back.
"Hey! – I can never leave you alone with anything can I!" said Andy.
Amanda turned and you could see the dark circles around her, big, brown eyes, from where the tears had been flowing from. Only after seeing Andy, the tears started to flow again. Amanda felt so guilty, she held herself responsible for losing their baby. She felt that she had let Andy down.
"Andy, I am so sorry…I've – ", Andy stopped Amanda, before she could say anything else. She reached out to him and held his hand; she just didn't want to lose Andy now. She needed him more than ever.
"Don't' say anything else, you just have to be strong now, because…" Andy broke off, as he removed his hand away from Amanda. He just smiled at her. Amanda was puzzled at the way Andy removed his hand away from her and so were Rebecca and Akbal.
"I'm leaving you Amanda!"

Amanda thought this was a joke, which Andy was playing on her, as he always used to play pranks on her. But he looked really serious.
"What do you mean?" asked Rebecca, as she stared at him in disbelief.
"You heard what I said!" yelled Andy.
"Rebecca, just relax he's just playing one of his pranks, he always loves doing this to me… don't you?"
Andy just turned around towards Amanda and just stared at her.
"No! I don't…you just don't get it do you – I am leaving you!"
Amanda could feel her heartbreak. If this was one of Andy's jokes, then she didn't need them, not right now, not at a time like this and especially not a joke like this. She needed Andy to be with her at a time like this. She had just lost everything.
"If you're saying this to get back at me, because I lost our baby, then its fine, be angry at me, but don't leave me" begged Amanda, as she tried to get up from her bed. But she couldn't, she was too weak, to get up.
"Do you honestly think that I care about you losing the baby?"
Akbal and Rebecca were shocked at what Andy was saying to Amanda. Everything that Andy was saying, had hit Amanda like a tonne of bricks. She just froze. Rebecca went up to Andy and pushed him, and demanded to know what he was talking about and why he was doing this, but he just stood there grinning at them.
"I never loved you Amanda… all I was after was your money, but you lost that as well didn't you"
Amanda didn't say anything. She just stayed in that same position. She didn't even move a muscle or anything. It was like as if it wasn't Amanda sitting there, it was her statue.
"Amanda…Amanda say something!!!" yelled Rebecca, as she went up to Amanda. Tears were flowing from her eyes, but Amanda just sat there, in her bed.
"Just look at her, she's useless and pathetic" Andy just kept on grinning at the state of Amanda; he didn't feel sorry for her or anything. He never loved her, he was only using her, and he was only after her money. That she had lost to her uncle, through trickery and deceit.
"What did you just say?" asked Rebecca.
"To be honest I don't know why I am wasting my time here" said Andy, as he just stared at both Amanda and Rebecca.
"SLAP!!!" Just as Andy turned to leave the room, Akbal slapped Andy, a guy older and much stronger than she was. She must have hit him really hard, as the slap had left a red imprint on the side of his face. There was a small cut at the end of his lip, from where small specks of blood were coming from. It had certainly wiped the grin off Andy's face. Akbal clinched her fist in anger. She could feel pain in her hand after slapping Andy, but it didn't affect her, as the pain was nothing compared to how angry she was feeling.
The slapped enraged Andy and he was about to retaliate, but before he could, Judy came into the room.
"What the hell is going on in here – This is a hospital!" yelled Judy. Everyone on in the area of the hospital could here the screaming and yelling coming from the room.
Andy ignored Judy, but also realised that he couldn't do anything at the moment to Akbal, so he just walked out, but as he walked out he just stared at Akbal.
"I will get you back for this" Andy just wiped the specks of blood off his lip and stared at his hand and then just walked out of the room.
Rebecca was just about to go after Andy, when Akbal screamed out Amanda's name. Rebecca turned towards Amanda and saw that Amanda had collapsed on to her bed. Her eyes were closed and she wasn't moving at all. Judy ran out of the room to get some help, while Rebecca cried out for Amanda.
"Take Rebecca out of the room" instructed Judy, to Akbal.
Rebecca was beside herself; she just couldn't control herself and just kept on screaming out for Amanda, while Akbal took her out of the room. Akbal herself was starting to cry to. Amanda was like a big sister to her. She always looked out for her. Now it all came down to this, Amanda had suffered so much in such a small time and now her life was in danger. But these thoughts where interrupted, when Akbal saw Rebecca stand up and about to walk away.
"Where are you going?" asked Akbal.
"I'll be right back, you just stay here" replied Rebecca as she turned towards Akbal. She didn't know why, but Akbal had a feeling that Amanda was going to do something drastic; she could see it in her eyes. Was she going after Andy, Akbal asked herself?
"I'm coming with you"
"No-I want you to stay here with Amanda…I'll be right back"
But before Akbal could say or do anything, Rebecca ran down the lobby and towards the exit. She had gone after Andy.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!" shouted Rebecca. You could hear the anger and rage in her voice, echoing throughout the car park. She wasn't just going to let him walk away, after what he did to Amanda. She just stood there waiting for him to turn around. Eventually he stopped in his tracks and turned. Rebecca could clearly see the sickening smile on Andy's face. There was a young couple, that were either coming or going from the hospital that had stopped. They were staring at both Rebecca and at Andy.
"You heard what I said...Amanda is pathetic and useless"
Tears were starting to form in Rebecca's eyes. She just couldn't believe what Andy had just said to her. How can anyone be so evil, she thought to herself. At this very moment, all she could think about was Amanda.
"How can you say that...she needs your support, she's...she's just lost your baby!" Rebecca screamed back at him.
He still had that sickening smile, no matter what Rebecca said to him, trying to get him to come back, it still didn't affect him. It was then, that he walked up to her, grabbed her and pulled her towards him.
"Hey - let go of her" Someone shouted, as they were coming towards them.
Instantly Andy pushed Rebecca, to the floor and punched that person. His wife ran up to him, to check on her husband as he pulled out a handkerchief out of his pocket, to stop his nose from bleeding.
"Sorry about that, but as you can see, this isn't any of your business"
"I'm going to get security" The wife had said, after her husband assured her that he was fine.
Andy then turned towards Rebecca. Her heart started to beat faster and faster, she was afraid of what he would do to her. She never saw this side of Andy before, she didn't know what to expect. He just knelt down in front of her, looking into her big dark brown eyes.
"Yes, you're right she lost my baby, but most importantly she lost the money to her uncle, I mean how can she be so stupid"
"Is that it...the only thing that matters to you is the money"
"Well, obviously"
Rebecca just stared at him, with great disgust.
"You're sick, you know that!" She yelled back at him.
Instantly Andy grabbed hold of Rebecca's hair and pulled tightly. She let out a painful cry.
"I pity Amanda, not only did she lose the baby and the money, she also lost her so-called adopted brother"
He pulled even tighter at her hair, forcing her to scream. He just enjoyed hearing her painful cries.
"Sean's the one who's lucky out of all of this...he managed to get away before Amanda messed everything up"
It was then, that, Andy heard a group of people running up towards them. He looked up and it was the wife of the guy, who he had just punched, coming back with security, closely followed by Akbal. He let go of Rebecca's hair and got up straight away.
"I'll see you later – Rebecca" said Andy, as he blew her a kiss.
As Andy walked backwards, while he kept his eyes fixed onto Rebecca, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He swiftly turned and before he could say anything, a fist came out of nowhere and punched him in the face, sending him to the floor, like Andy had done to Rebecca. Before Andy could react back, the security guards pinned him to the floor. Rebecca was relieved to see who was standing in front of her. His hand reached out to help her to get back up. She just smiled back at him, as he wiped her tears away and then she just hugged him. Rebecca was so glad that he was back. Sean had come back.
