Ignoring the unnatural, weird emotions bubbling inside, Kripa decided to throw him off track and act unaffected. Turning around swiftly almost getting a cramp, in a surprisingly indifferent aka a rude and cold tone, she toxically asked him-
"Anything haywire or wrong ā Mr. Khanna?"
"I think you are forgetting something Ms. Questioner."
"I am????" she feigned confusion.
"Yeah. You owe someone something." He was surprised by her posture. He expected her to be sweating by now. Any other girl in her place would have been trembling.
"I do? Ah! Yes!! Thanks for reminding me."
Angad was amazed at his easy victory. But he still had a nagging doubt. Ignoring it, he folded his hand triumphantly and waiting for the apology.
But in its place came
"Yeah!! I have to call up my roommate and apologize again for my absence from tonight's party. She was furious"
"Haan?? Wait. What?????"
"I have better go. Farewell Mr. Khanna. When are you leaving? It was a great pleasure meeting you."
'Hope we never meet again' she muttered under her breath which he heard.
Angad realized that she was a tough nut to crack. But he smirked at her thinking that he would leave.
"Leaving?"
"Now you have done your job. Thereby you must be returning home, if I'm not wrong." she said gleefully.
He replied,
"Oh! There's absolutely no reason for you to be so cheerful, Ms. Sharma. I am so not going anywhere and neither are you until I settle some scores."
Kripa's face lost colour. But she wasn't going to give up without a fight.
"Mr. Khanna. You must be mistaking me for someone", she added lamely.
Angad grinned at her nervousness. "Are you suffering from a severe case of amnesia??"
He saw her eyes lashing out anger. Before she could reply, Josh came in saying there was a call for Kripa.
Kripa let out a huge breath and was relived.' That was a close call.' She prayed for the person who called her thanking him innumerable times in her head.
She glanced at Angad enjoying his irritation, before walking out of the room.
Damn. She had escaped from his clutches!!!!! He cursed the caller, The Ms. Snooty's saviour.
He left the room banging the door behind him.
It was seven by the time Kripa reached her dormitory. She was tired and beat. After the discussion she had to finish her paper work. She was glad that Angad had soon left after the meeting with another colleague. No sooner had she stepped inside the room she heard Aaliya conversing with someone on the phone. She waved her hi and utilizing the last ounce of energy walked to the bed and fell on it.
She heard her saying-
"Yeah sab theek hai."
"What!!! Aap yahan San Francisco main. Aur aap mujhe abhi bata rahe hain"
"OK. I'll forgive you on one condition. Aapko mere saath dinner karna hoga abhi."
"No bahane. We are meeting after a year and a half bahi"
"Ok. So what about the Oaries at Kingston quadrangle."
Kripa through actions asked her who she was talking to?? It was only now when Aaliya noticed that Kripa was back. She called out-
" Hi Krips. How was your day?'
"Oh! Nothing baba. I'm just talking to my roommate. She was gone all day"
"Bhai can I bring Krips too??"
"K bye. Meet you in an hour."
Switching off her cell, Aaliya turned towards Kripa.
"C'mon baby. We've got a dinner to attend."
"But Aaliya I'm so tired .I can't come. By the way who was on the phone? And aren't you attending the fraternity party???"
"Well. You've got to come. And haan you almost skipped tonight's party. So as a punishment tusi aana hoga."
" Par..."
Angad was waiting for his sister impatiently. It was a long time since he had seen her. They had talked often but it was not the same. He had expected a bit of privacy, but his little sis was bringing her roommate along with her. He knew the roommate did not know about their relation but it was the first time he had heard the sincerity and happiness in his sister's voice for a friend. He knew the girl must be close pals with his sister. He couldn't refuse.
Immersed in his thoughts he did not see his sister walk and sit right before him. It was only when she had snapped her fingers did he focus.
"Hi bhaiya. Wassup???
"Hi gudiya. Kaisi hai tu. You've lost weight. Khana nahin milta kya college main?"
"Nothing bro. Just that my best friend is a fitness freak. Every morning she goes for jogging and does 'pranayam' and power yoga. I just tag along."
"Speaking of your roommate, where is she? I thought you were bringing her too and did you tell her about our relation?????"
"Brother. She's just parking her car and coming. It had gone for servicing and we had picked it on our way. And no I haven't told her anything about us but I want too. Can I please plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?"
"All right. Tu bi kya yaad rakhegi?"
"Speaking of Krips, here she comes."
'Krips? What a name. Totally like that hunterwalli.' Angad thought chuckling.
He stood up and turned to greet 'KRIPS' and was ..........
