Aarti always missed her mom and finally decided to go see her. Good for her. She was separated for too long.

Part -4

Aarti was sitting in her room and was holding a photo frame close to her chest. Her eyes were moist and she was gazing out of the window trying to recollect her childhood memories with her mother. She remembered the way her mother always took care of her. Sobha used to shower all the affection upon Aarti when she was a child.

But then she used to wonder, what went wrong between her parents. She just couldn't get the reason behind their split up. She had tried a lot in the past to get an answer from her father.

But he always avoided such questions and tried to make her more close to his new wife, Nandini.

While she tried to delve deeper into the past, a hand on her shoulder brought her back to the present. She quickly wiped her tears away and looked at its owner. It was Radha, Yash's mother.

Aarti: (smiles) Aunty.

Radha realized that she was upset about something and her instincts told that she might be missing her mother.

She inwardly scolded her son for doing this to Chinnu.

Ra: Chinnu.Come now..Let us have lunch..I don't know much about your tastes. You know, you are from Mumbai.....And I hope you will like Kerala style dishes.

Aarti: (grins widely) No worries, Aunty.I love Kerala food..Till I was eight years, I had only eaten the food made by Amma and still its taste lingers in my mouth. (looks away sadly, then slowly says)You don't know how much I have missed her..(tears fill in her eyes) Radha's eyes also filled with tears and she hugged Aarti.

Ra: Don't worry...You will soon be with her..

Aarti smiled abruptly and broke from the hug.

Ra: Aunty.When will she return from her journey.Is she happy in her life now.(pauses) Errr..I mean, with her new husband..?

Radha got really angry by now at Yash for telling such lies to Aarti.

Ra: Err..Chinnu..When you meet her, you ask yourselves ok..Now come and have your lunch.

Radha led Aarti to the dining area and she saw Yash there, sitting at the table.

He usually had lunch from home and then went back to his super market.

Aarti pretended as if he doesn't exist and she just sat down two seats away from him.

Yash noticed her tear stain face and he felt bad for her. Just at that moment, he decided to tell her that her mother was living next door only and that she was in the wrong house.

As he opened his mouth to tell her the truth, Radha came in with steaming rice and served them. The other dishes were sambar, aviyal (kind of mixed vegetables dish), pappad, mango pickle etc.

Aarti: Aunty....wow.you made my favorite, avial..?

Radha smiled at Aarti and replied.

Ra: Chinnu....You have come here for the first time na..I thought of making something special but see... it turned to your favourite. Yash also loves avial with rice.

Yash looked at Aarti and saw her smiling. But that smile just didn't reach her eyes and he felt really guilty, realizing the same. She started to have her food and now he decided to be cordial with her.

Yash: (smiling) Aarti.Did you like the food.?

Aarti looked at him and nodded with out a smile. She still couldn't forgive him for the incident in the morning.

Aarti: (blank face) I love all these dishes..My mother used to make all these for me in my childhood..

Yash's smile disappeared immediately realizing how much she was missing her mother, Sobha....

Feeling really bad, he had his remaining food in silence.

Aarti spent the remaining afternoon sleeping. In the evening, Pari returned from college and she went to wake up Aarti for having tea with them. Both of them got along well, within minutes. Soon they joined Radha for tea.

They sat down together for watching TV after that. Aarti and Pari were the regular viewers of a lot of tele-serials in the Malayalam channels.

Aarti began to get bored soon and she got up and walked towards the verandah and sat down on the steps.

It was cold outside and she embraced herself and smiled sadly.

She fondly remembered the way her mother used to hug her close to her chest and she always missed the instant warmth which would seep into her body.

The moon cast its glow around the courtyard and she glanced around the surroundings. Suddenly she could hear the sound of an approaching motor bike and she saw that it was Yash coming home.

Yash gazed at her and she merely glanced at him and looked away. He parked his bike and walked up the steps towards her.

Yash: Aarti..How was your day.?

Aarti: (without smiling) Why are you trying to be friendly.? To make fun of me again, huh..?

Yash: Woh....Sorry for what I did with you in the morning..

Aarti: (nods) Hmm.. It's ok, Yash..

She looked away and Yash noticed her sad expression in the moonlight.

He thought of telling her the truth

Yash: Aarti... I want to tell you something...

Aarti : Huh... I'm not going to be fooled again...

Yash: No.....Actually I tried to tell you at lunch time..... just then his phone rang and he talked while going inside the house.

Aarti shook her head and walked down the steps into the courtyard. She was just strolling around in the courtyard and a song reached into her ears.

Aarti felt a sudden surge of happiness and looked around for the source of this song. It was her mother's favourite lullaby which she used to sing for her when she was a child. ( The song is Chandaniya Chhupjana re from Rowdy Rathore )

The little Chinnu inside Aarti ran in the direction from which the faint voice was singing distantly. She ran along the moon lite lane and crossed the threshold of the neighboring house.

Aarti couldn't believe her eyes when she saw her. She stood rooted on the spot and tears were streaming down her happy face.

Aarti: Ammaaa...

Sobha stopped singing and she looked up abruptly towards the calling voice. She smiled widely with tearful eyes.

Sobha: (excitedly) Chinnuu.!

Sobha stood up and spread her arms wide and beckoned her daughter with her eyes. Aarti ran straight into her mother's arms and both of them embraced each other snugly. Aarti was sobbing uncontrollably and Sobha was weeping with her eyes and a wide smile.

Aarti: Ammaaa..I missed you..(sobs)

Sobha: (affectionately)Chinnuuuu...my daughter....you are with me now..

Sobha's one hand was patting softly upon Aarti's back and her other hand caressed her daughter's hair.

Aarti: I am so sorry Ammaa..I couldn't stop what Papa did to you..I was so small..And I didn't understand.

Sobha: I know Chinnu..Stop crying my dear..

They stood like that for a long time and none of them dared to break the hug. Both of them were feeling the contentment of a lifetime.

Finally realization dawned upon Aarti lots of doubts sprang up inside her mind. She opened her eyes and voiced her thoughts.

Aarti: Amma..Are you staying here in this house..?

Sobha: Yes, why..?

Aarti broke off from the hug and looked into her mother's innocent face.

Aarti: Are you related in any way to the people living over there..?(indicates

Yash's house's direction)

Sobha: Radha is my childhood friend..But she has always been a great support for me.. And her son Yash is..

The name made Aarti's blood boil and she was shivering with indignation now.

Sobha: What happened, Chinnu.? (touches her shoulder)

Aarti: Nothing Ammaa..Let me get my belongings from there..I will be back now..

Saying so, Aarti ran back towards Yash's tharavaadu (ancestral house) in super speed. She was fuming in anger and her face was red hot.

She stormed into the living room and Radha and Pari were shocked seeing her condition.

Ra: (stands up)Chinnu.

Pari: Aarti didi.....What happened.?

Aarti didn't stop to answer them and went straight into the guest room. Her hands were shivering with rage while she packed her things back. Radha and Pari also came into the room after her. But they were too much awestruck to ask her what the problem was.

Aarti picked up her luggage and finally looked at Radha. Her eyes were red and she spoke to Radha with tearful eyes.

Aarti: (trying hard to control her anger, speaks slowly) Thanks for everything,

Aunty. But I found my Amma at last, in spite of all those lies which you all had made me believe.

And she walked off without a backward glance.

Aarti came back to Sobha's house and hugged her mother who was waiting for her in the verandah itself.

Sobha led her inside and took her to her own bedroom. She was really excited to have her daughter back.

Sobha: Place your things here in my room..You can sleep with me, here.

Aarti beamed with delight and she hugged her Amma again.

Aarti: Wowww Amma.I love you.Do you have any idea how much I had missed sleeping by your side.

Sobha:I too missed you beta.You don't even know how much I missed you..

Meanwhile, Yash was having a splash in the private pond. As he swam in the cool water, Aarti's sad face haunted him.

Yash thought.. "Aarti is not as arrogant as I had thought, she is sweet as well. I should tell her the truth tonight itself.Poor girl..She is missing Sobha Amma terribly"

Aarti Radha scene was emotional.Good that Yash felt guilty and apologized to Aarti.Sad that Aarti did'nt listen to what Yash wanted to say.Aarti uniting with her mother was very emotional.Now Yash decided to tell the truth to Aarti.But now it is too late.How will he calm down her anger?Perfect pics.

Part -5:

Sobha woke up early in the morning, An affectionate smile appeared on her lips when she saw the innocent face of her Chinnu, who was looking really cute with her hair falling to her eyes. She extended her hand and slowly moved her hair from her forehead and placed a soft kiss there.

Aarti slightly squirmed in her sleep and murmured "Ammaaa" softly with her eyes still closed.

Sobha got up from the bed, tied her hair into a bun and walked towards the front door. When she opened the door she was surprised to see Yash sitting in the verandah.

Sobha: (smiles) Yash..So early in the morning.?

Yash: Sobha amma.Chinnu.?(tries to look inside)

Sobha: (smiles widely) She is still asleep.

(then excitedly)She came here yesterday night. Is this the surprise you were saying to give me ?

Yash: (bites his lips and looks away guiltily) Actually Sobha Amma. (musters some courage and looks at her face again)I will tell you everything.What happened was that....

Just then Aarti walked into the scene and Yash was interrupted by her.

Aarti: Amma..I had great fun at their home. Yash also gave me a huge surprise..(looks at Yash with a mocking smile)

Yash stared at her with a painful expression.

Sobha: (smiles) Is it, Chinnu..? Ok now both of you sit down and talk with each other..I will bring some tea for all of us..

And she walked inside. Aarti glared at Yash with her one eyebrow raised.

Yash twitched his lips and looked around. He was finding it difficult to meet her glare.

He took a deep breath and gathered up himself. He eventually met her gaze and started talking.

Yash: Why did you stop me from explaining everything to Sobha Amma..?

Aarti: (seriously)Because I don't want her to feel hurt in any way..Look Mr. Yash. I didn't tell anything bad about you and your family to my Amma. I know that she values Radha aunty's friendship very much..I don't want to spoil their relationship..

Yash: But listen to me Aar..

Aarti: (now pointing her index finger at him and glaring) You listen to me Mr. Yash..I don't want any drama here and I don't want your "I-am-sorry" expression too.It doesn't suit you.(smirks)

Yash's expression was turning sour now. She opened his mouth to say something but just then Sobha arrived with three steaming cups of tea.

Sobha: Yash, tell Radha to accompany me and Chinnu to the Devi temple in the evening. Chinnu has arrived here in our place after a long time. So it will be good if we take her to the temple.

Yash:(sipping the tea) Sure.

Yash looked into Aarti's direction to which Aarti raised her eyebrows and fumed at him.

He thought "Oh my God..What a haughty and arrogant girl she is..!

Sobha amma is such a kind and sweet person..! I guess I didn't do any Wrong by making fool of her..She deserves it."

Aarti sipped her tea and thought "Oh God..! I have never seen such a man in my entire life..Radha aunty and Pari are actually nice persons..But this Yash is such a ......."

In the evening, Yash was sitting behind the cash counter in his supermarket store. Just then his friend Nandu walked into the shop and approached him excitedly.

Na: Yash..Yash..

Yash: (smiles excitedly) Nandu.

Na: Yash..I was sitting at the tea shop near our Devi temple and I saw a girl with Radha aunty.?

Yash: (frowns) Yes, She is Sobha Amma's daughter Chinnu....!

Na: (dramatically) Sobha Amma's daughter.. She is such a beauty, my friend..!!! Ohhh my God..!! I heard Radha Aunty introducing her to someone else. I just couldn't take my eyes off from her. You are my friend na....Make her meet with me once please....

Yash pursed his lips together and shook his head in exasperation and then yelled out angrily.

Yash:(yells) NANDUUU. Don't talk non sense....You don't even like me having a peace of mind at least here in my shop..and talking about her???!!

Nandu was gazing at his friend open mouthed. He couldn't understand what was wrong with Yash.

Na: What happened, daa ? ("daa" is a way of addressing a friend like "yaar") Why are you over reacting..?

Yash realized his mistake and he extended his hand and patted Nandu's shoulder consolingly.

Yash: Forgive me, daa.. I am in a bad mood since morning..due to her...

Na: You can tell me.. what is the matter with you.? (putting his arm around Yash's shoulder)

Yash: Ok..I will tell you everything..

After hearing everything, Nandu shook his head in disapproval.

Na: (serious tone) What you did was not right, Yash.

Yash: (widens his eyes) Now you also start lecturing me, Nandu.! (turns his face away annoyed)

Na: (dreamy expression) What a sweet girl she is.? How could you cheat her like that..?

Yash got really annoyed and pushed him by his shoulder.

Yash: You just go away from here..! You are not my friend..

Na: Of course I am your friend, Yash. But I was just telling that she is soo beautiful. (regains his dreamy expression and gazes distantly)

Hearing that statement, for some unknown reason, Yash felt a hot Surge of anger searing him.

He let out a deep sigh and walked out of the shop.

Na: Now ,what happened to him..?

Aarti was waiting for Sobha amma to finish her prayers while Radha approached her. She placed her palm on Aarti's shoulder.

Ra: Chinnu...You are also like a daughter for me my dear..Please forgive me for what all had happened..Actually Yash had told that..

Aarti didn't wanted to bring that topic back. So she smiled politely and touched Radha's hand.

Aarti: Aunty, no need to say sorry to me..I know that you and Pari didn't intend to hurt me..I am sorry that I behaved with you that way when I came back to take my luggage..I should have guessed that it was entirely HIS fault.(gazed away)

Radha noticed the pain in her eyes and she felt a pang in her motherly heart.

Ra:I know that you won't be able to forgive Yash , but believe me he is not a bad person.

Aarti: Please aunty..can we just stop discussing this topic.Please..

Radha realized that Aarti was not yet ready to forgive her son. She smiled painfully and nodded in assent.

While returning back from the temple, Radha took Aarti and Sobha to her home for tea.

Pari, who had come back from College had prepared tea for all of them.

Aarti smiled pleasantly at Pari and assured that all was well between either of them.

All the ladies sat down around the table and started having the evening snacks and tea.

Just then, Aarti's phone began to ring.

She saw that it was from her father, Satyendra. She quickly glanced at her Amma who was happily chatting away with Radha. Aarti excused herself and walked outside with her phone.

Aarti: (mocking tone) Hello Papa..How come you remembered me..?

Sat: Chinnu..Why didn't you come back..? Do you know how much worried I have been..?

Aarti: Don't worry Papa..I am fine here at Amma's home..

Sat: (shocked) What..?! How did you reach her home..? !!! I had not..I had not given you the address..when you asked me from the airport.

Aarti:I told you right that I am not going to come back without meeting my Amma..And you know what, God helped me..and I found her home easily.

Sat: (helplessly) Come back Chinnuu.I am missing you terribly.

Aarti: (scoffs)Papa..It has been only two days since you haven't seen me, and you are in this helpless condition.Just think about Amma, it has been years since she met me..

Sat: But she has learnt to be without you. But I haven't.

Aarti: (laughs softly) Then you also will learn to be without me, soon..Bye Papa..You take care.

She disconnected the call and let out a deep sigh. Aarti was just entering back into the house after that when she heard the approaching noise of a motorbike. Yash entered the courtyard in his bike.

Yash looked at her and She avoided him completely.

She turned back towards the house and was about to step inside when he too joined her and walked inside with her. Both of them headed towards the dinning area where the ladies were sitting together. Sobha saw them approaching and smiled affectionately at Yash.

Sobha: Yash..oh good that you came home at the right time. Chinnu you also listen. We have planned something for Sunday as it is holiday for Pari's College and Yash's shop.

Yash and Aarti were listening intently to Sobha.

Sobha: Let us go for a trip to Guruvayur Temple. We will start early morning and reach back at night. Yash, can you please take care of the arrangements.

Yash: Alright Sobha amma.You don't worry.. We will all go in our Car.

Aarti looked at him while he was talking, but Yash didn't even glance at her now. He sat down for having his tea and Aarti also sat down with them.

Sobha aarti scene was lovely.
