He didn't like the message about speeding up the paperwork. What he has not though through is she is not rich like him. She needs the money.

He did agree that she was right for him. Even in past tense, at least we get that agreement from him.

His responses to Tara were cold as ice. No concern for her circumstances. He can't even talk to her politely.

Sumedha and Gopal are going over to see her at least. It will do Sumedha a lot of good. Tara will still feel sad that he will be missing.

As for Gaurav..

Prad can take all of Pia's nastiness in his stride.. he's amused and calm, usually.

If it's an equal relationship, shouldn't he be more tolerant about her feelings for Gaurav? Gaurav ko nahin, par Taaruni ko samajhne ki koshish karta? Or maybe stop Pia first before calling his wife out on Gaurav?

His sister is terrible to Taaruni in front of them, and even worse behind their backs. If Pia hasn't taken money from Nidhi, she is better than Gaurav?

Kya bolti voh Pradyut ko yaar? It's not like he has ever expressed any empathy or kindness for her troubled family situation.

So true. He always let Pia get away with all the nastiness. He knew perfectly well how bitchy she has been. That has been swept under the rug always. Gaurav gets called on by him for his mistakes. He is not equal.

She got an order from Nidhi the following evening “Ghar aao, store band karo”

“Kyon?”

“Ur baby’s grandparents are here”

Her heart skipped a beat

“Pradyut bhi aaya hai”

“Who kyon aayega” Nidhi was sad

“Ma I am sorry”

“No I am sorry…. Aa beta” Nidhi was choked up

She asked Sunil and Deepak to lock up and headed home

Sumedha and Gopal waited in the living room of Bhushan residence

The living room was full of gifts, for her and the family. Baskets of fruit boxes of dry fruit and mithai

“Hello” she mumbled awkwardly

She was wearing a knee length divided cotton skirt and a sleeveless tee

It was hot as a volcano in Chandigarh, with no sign of rain

“How are you beta?” Sumedha couldn’t control her joy

“I am good” she nodded looking at Gopal

He smiled wide

Nidhi nudged her to go take a shower

She returned to find them in the dining room drinking tall glasses of milkshake

Pallavi was bringing her house help and headed this way with her boys

Harold was literally flying through the air as he smelled Pradyut on Sumedha and Gopal’s clothes

“He is usually well behaved” Taruni mumbled

“Jaanti hoon” Sumedha teased gently

“I am not sure what happens to him sometimes”

Gopal and Sumedha looked at each other cyptically

Their DIL was lovely, so resolute and amiable. She looked gorgeous in a A line sleevless floral dress

“We should go out and shop” Sumedha muttered softly

“I have to run the store”

“How do you like the store?” Gopal asked Sumedha gave him a side eye

“Oh I love it” “The area is very shady”

“Oh no” “Magar kyon?”

“Its like 8 kms THAT way (waving her hand) like in THAT direction from the Zenith location”

“Gopal aapne dekhi hai store?”

“Mmm..mmm” Gopal was sheepish

Nidhi kept them busy sharing stories about work and her grandsons, but it seemed like Sumedha and Gopal wanted to be left alone with Taaruni

“We should buy you ice cream” Gopal spoke up

“Arey abhi mangwati hoon” Nidhi began to fret

“Arey nahi, I wanted to take her for a ride and buy it for her Bhabhiji” Gopal answered pleasantly

“Abhi bache bhi aa jaayenge” Nidhi stalled

“We can go again” Gopal grinned, he looked just like his son when he was buttering her up Taaruni realized

She lowered her gaze self consciously

“Chalen?”

“Hmm”

“Lets go”

They left Sumedha at home

Gopal asked her a 100 questions about life in Chandigarh and how the baby was doing

“I am sorry you are having to visit like this”

“We are too, we wanted you to be in Golf Links”

“We are too messy to be happy”

“No you two are just stubborn”

“He has no bad habits, he is ambitious and principled”

“U are sounding like you want me to hire him” she laughed innocently

“Can you?” “He reads a lot also” “He knows more about books than I”

“Umm… Da… Dad I mean… this awkward”

“I hope it is”

“Why are you doing this”

“Pia is not Pradyut. You shouldn’t be punishing us for Pia’s sake”

“I am not punishing anyone. I don’t have the conveyance deed I am never going to find it, I want him to have his freedom”

“YOU are granting it?”

“He was bound to me” she whispered

“But there is a baby beta”

“I know… I don’t think either of us made him or her hating each other” she said softly

“Oh that’s good” Gopal was a bit sarcastic

“He was respectful kind and generous to me”

Gopal just stared dumbfounded

“I hope I was too”
