The chanting began at 5 PM and went on until 7:30, Mrunalini arrived at 7:30ish, when they were beginning to wrap up

Pramila squirmed when she saw the woman, Sharan had a ear to ear smile, his wife was missing, Mrunalini wondered how Sharan was invited to such a private event

A couple of cousins were there with their kids and a half a dozen elders. Mrunalini was dressed in a green cotton saree, with her pallu pulled over her shoulder primly

Aatreya wanted to go over and hold her

He waved at her cheerfully from the crowd

Dhru was busy hiding from an annoying kid, as Somesh glared at him from his cross cross squatting position where he chanted

Pramila reluctantly walked over to her and greeted her

Mrunalini handed the flower garlands and sweets and fruits

Parmila was taken aback by how much she had purchased

Sharan walked over to her to whisper

“If I had known you were visiting I would have asked my wife to be here”

“The one I assumed was Atty’s GF u mean?” she chuckled

When the pooja was over everyone mingled and chatted

Aatreya took a call in his room and came and found her as she sat in the swing in one of his balconies as Dhru read a anime book in her same swing

“Do u want to go home with me?” she leaned forward and inhaled his hair

Pramila had helped him wash with oil and some home made powders, he smelled great she thought

“You smell like you did when Sai Tai would bathe you” she kissed his back

“Are you going to her house?” he turned to smile

“Go with me” she whispered kissing his cheek

“Whats going on” he smiled from the doorway

“I am bribing him to go with me”

“Afraid to be home?”

“No I am staying at Sai’s this is her saree” she smiled fondly

“U look great”

“Still afraid?” he asked grimly

“It comes and goes, I have an arrangement with Sameena now, she has her own place now, I crash on her couch, I pay her for the nights I stay”

“Is Zainab there too?” Dhru was curious

“Nah! She is home with Zahra aunty”

“She is my friend right?”

“Yes, Ulhas and Utkarsh are you, and so is Sohel and Pranav and Raj”

“And Atty” Dhru pointed to Aatreya

“I better be man”

“Come on in to eat Mrunalini”

“Umm.. I am not really hungry”

“He will not discuss anything with you. It’s a breach of confidentiality”

“Because I am um… umm..” he gave a side eye toward Dhru “I am your umm.. lover” he whispered inaudibly

“Not Boyfriend huh”

“Nah that would bring us closer you see” he mocked her

She giggled

“Yes true”

“Come on in” he held her hand and tried to pull her off the swing

“I will stand here by you until…”

Pramila must have sensed that, she came by within minutes and started ordering him in Kannada

“Amma did you ask Dhru to eat, and his mother”

“I will feed Dhru the Vishnu banana leaf is being set for him” she urged Dhru to go wash his hands and put away his book, Dhru did so obediently

“Ah” Aatreya sighed amused “Do I get that too”

“No only him”

“What about her”

“Yes, she is Lakshmi… she can eat” Pramila was feeling generous

“Umm.. no, aunty I ate….” She lied

“No come on in” Pramila pulled her hand

“I have put away bangles and other things to give you, all ladies will get, you must bless my Apurva, she should get a girl and a boy, twins matlab bas ho gaya” Pramila spoke broken Hindi

“Tumhare ke jaisa ek baby bhi bas ho gaya” Pramila smiled tearfully

Mrunalini nodded quietly

“You are lucky… you have the child” Pramila stared at her thoughtfully

“Hamara Aatreya ne us Mitra ke saath divorce kiya I was thinking I will not have grandkid now”

“Can Jaidrith stay here for two weeks?” Pramila came to the point eventually

“Amma” Aatreya was furious

“I will ask her its ladies talk… you go inside” she giggled as she scolded Aatreya

This was no ladies talk this was Pramila making a demand after sugar coating her speech

“Umm.. usually hamara agreement weekly rehta hai aunty”

“This week procedure no? If child is there it will be more powerful”

“Umm”

“Mrunalini just say no” Aatreya said quietly

“Umm.. I will take prashad and leave… I can tell you tomorrow?” Mrunalini squirmed

“No no you must eat first I will give you the things”

The next two hours flew by, after Dhru slept Mrunalini left Atty’s room and got ready to leave

Aatreya stood ready with his keys

Somesh was watching carefully

“Amma I will see you in the morning, Apurva’s appointment is at 8 I will see you at 6” he said firmly

“Come back we will all go to gether” Somesh ordered

“I will get here at 6” he left with Mrunalini

“Stay with Mendy” Pramila urged

Aatreya is slowly standing up for himself and Mrunalini, if Somesh and Pramila dont yield now then he will have to use even harsher tactics
