Apoorva spelled it out to the parents. They need to stop ignoring Mru. will they listen?

“I am not allowed here except to pick my kid up?” he stood outside the front door with a smile

He had a beard now she noticed, almost a 3 or 4 day look

She was in the shower when he had picked up Dhru mid day

“U are allowed here” she mumbled looking away from his eyes

“U don’t care for my beard look?”

“Umm.. I I don’t know”

“say it” he entered and shut the door leaning on it

“U came here just to show off ur look?” she smiled lips twitching

“Wud u show me ur haircut?”

“I got it cut but I keep it tied” she flicked her high ponytail

“Why?”

“I don’t work in a guest relations role, nobody cares what I wear or look like” she went into the kitchen

“Can I get chai?”

“Why?” she turned to look at him stopping the washing of dishes

“I can make myself chai”

“Where is Dhru?”

“THERE we go” he chuckled

“My kid is in ur place I have to ask”

“Ur kid huh?”

“Umm.. yeah”

“Apu and him were going to go to a pottery place”

“Oh” she turned to look at him with longing

She had planned all these high end pastimes when she was in her early 20s, didn’t know she would get pregnant at 23 and be broke soon after, swallowed her pride continued to live in Baba’s Bandra flat as she saved up for this Chembur flat

No elite hobbies for the kid

“Where are they going?”

“Don’t know… a few in my area I guess” “Versova… Khar too”

“What does he want to make?”

Aatreya was distracted looking at his work texts

Mrunalini felt a pang of separation

His whole family was in town, and they had her child

“How is Apurva?” she asked quietly beginning to do dishes again

“She goes in for a well check tomorrow, procedure is Tuesday, or Wed, depends I guess”

“Oh”

“Amma is having the puja on Tuesday evening if procedure is Wed, you can just head there after work”

She had NO invite!!!

“I have to work late”

“Unacceptable” he paused smiled, set his phone on her counter and poured out the chai

“I am serious, I am going to have to close on 6 cases, and one case I need to go dig up PAPER documents from 2012” she waved her phone with a wet hand

“Can I see?” he said quiet;y

“My EMAIL?”

“Umm yeah”

“No its confidential data”

“then I call bull”

She shut the faucet wiped her hands angrily and opened her email and went through some to find her open cases and shoved her phone in his hand

He quickly, hit the home button and and went to her recent calls and found ONE RAO call…… from himself all day, and one from Sai one from Mendy!

“My Mum did not call” he handed the phone back to her

“YOU JERK” she hissed not hiding tears

She stormed out of the kitchen

He took his tea and followed her

She went into the bedroom and slammed the door

The downstairs renters who already didn’t care for Dhru playing with his hot wheels cars banged a broom on the ceiling

“Oh f--- off!” she growled

“Mru” “Open the door”

“Do u want to go through my underwear drawer?”

“I would love to” “Can we please talk”

“NO… NO… get lost”

He went to the living room made some work calls drank his chai, texted Apurva not saying a word about his mother’s white lie “Oh yes I did call Mrunalini, I asked her to be here at 3 PM itself so she can help me with everything”

He was actually ashamed he had trolled her earlier in the week

Turns out his mother had just brazenly lied to him

Mrunalini stepped out to throw up, brush her teeth, and drench her soul with water

She was sure Pramila was going to absolutely hate her if Aatreya went back and demanded answers

That fear sent her over the edge

Aatreya got off the bamboo bucket chair and launched himself after her

She left the door unbolted, when she stepped out with a damp red face 20 minutes later

He just grabbed her

“What did I even say?”

“Its what you did” she looked at him with blood shot eyes

“This is not about shaming YOU, its about my parents Mrunalini”

“I don’t care you managed to shame ME”

He pulled her closer

“You should have left”

“Well I have a shi--- track record of disappearing when I am not supposed to (abandoning her after the ONS) and staying when I am supposed to leave!!! You should know” he growled

“I really don’t want any drama.. I don’t want you to ask your parents why I was not invited”

“You cannot make rules for me” he said coldly

“I need it for my own sanity, I need to be honest with myself”

“By tricking me?” she pulled away, wiping tears

“If the terrible behavior is directed at you how else do you propose I resolve it?”

“You are NOT my keeper”

“U know what none of what you say to devalue our relationship bothers me any more” his eyes blazed with fury

She cried softly leaning near the kitchen wall

“Did u come here to spy on me”

“God!! NO! I did not… I wanted to be with YOU” he growled

She swallowed painfully “Ur favors on me continue to crush me under its weight… I have to, you have to stop at some point”

“I am not doing you any favors”

“You have to promise me not to bring it up with ur Mum”

“I will not promise” he grit his teeth

“Whyyyyy Atty, why do you want them to hate me more”

“Stop it” he closed the gap

And pulled her closer

The quarrel occupying the top of her mind she realized how he made her feel, her cheeks flamed as he unfurled her tense fists to loosen her fingers

His head lowered and he gently kissed her neck and she shuddered when his hairy jaw scraped her soft neck

“hate it?”

“Umm.. no”

“I promise to keep it under control”

“I hate it” she lied

He laughed on her neck

She prayed for strength to push him away, she knew if he started he wouldn’t stop… her soft form, shook as he placed it against his form, his coaxing lips succeeding in opening her mouth, long fingers strummed her body, teasing and tormenting, he knew just how to arouse and please her.

“Feel my face” he demanded huskily

His breath warm as he explored her sensitive crevices of her ear lobe

He took her hand and ran it over his face, “U need to shave”

“I promise I will be gentle… I am trying a new look”

“for WHO” she scowled

She made him laugh, with a muffled groan he claimed her mouth hungrily

The next three hours he proceeded to wipe out every thought of his family from her mind….

He entered his Versova flat after 8 PM, he wanted to spend the night with Mrunalini but she had kicked him out

“You lied to me Amma” he went to the kitchen and accosted her

“I was goingt o call her I became busy”

“REALLY?” he shouted

He father walked by and froze in shock

“Why are you talking to your mother this way?”

“Well your… my mother lied to me”

“You have no shame?” U are not even married to her”

“I don’t think that’s MY fault” he mocked his Dad derisively

“Why are you shouting at your mother?”

“She could not be honest with me… you drilled into us that Vedas and Upanishads are all about truth and honesty”

“AATREYA” his mother shouted when she heard him taunt his father

“WHY does SHE not have to live by your standards Pa”

“Even Lord Krishna has said….” Somesh began

“STOP IT… RIGHT NOW” Aatreya was exploding…. “Naanu avala magan nu manege karedu kondu hogtene” (I will take HER son back home tomorrow) I respect you too much to skip the ceremony myself Amma”

Atty is nice guy. He is doing what best he can in given circumstances.

He loves Mrunalini and wants to be by her side at the same time not rushing it to scare her. While doing so he is not completely ignoring his parents. He wants them to be part of his life despite knowing how difficult it to be around them and do what he wants.

Hope he wont lose this battle..... He is constantly struggling between his parents and mrunalini😭. The pain is so hard since he knows where his happiness lies and he is been not allowed go anywhere near that💔

It was thoughtful of Atty to come see Mrunalini. She unknowingly is getting comfortable with him. Or else she wouldn’t agree to even show the email as proof.

He always has claimed her and whatever he wants from her.

Atty needs no reassurance after this. She is not ready to marry him. Repeatedly has asked him to get married but her jealousy gives away what she actually wants.

They actually don’t deserve Dhru if they can’t be respectful to Mrunalini. Let him be with his mother.

Atty has made it pretty clear now what he wants and why he is unable to get it. Hope his parents understand.

He is sporting a beard and she got a new haircut. Time for show and tell.

Pramila did not call to invite Mru despite her kids asking for it.
