Like P said, it was a rude awakening for Kirti when she was a recipient of Tejas' non-platonic actions. Put things into perspective, eh? It tells a lot about Kirti's nature when she chose to not share the awkward incident with Shruti, only because she didn't want others to think low of him. She isn't repulsed by Nishit's proximity. It's quite the contrary. I guess she always had a crush on Nishit. Probably from the day she heard him croon "Koi kacchi dor nahi hain main kya karoon..." 😁 But his indifferent nature then, and blow hot blow cold reaction now, has put a damper on her feelings. Upar se the class difference sticks out like a sore thumb. I love how you weave the past & present references. Nishit & Kirti have a long history. Most of these moments are just between the two. Their special moments! They have to be special if they both remember it with such clarity, no?

The way the chapter started, I thought Nishit was going to be a no show. But he did come. Was he late because of genuine work reasons or was he unsure about attending? He was helping Radha find a hair clip! How cute is that!! 🧡 Sidenote - I absolutely love Radha & Sibin and their affinity for Nishit. Radha has already established Nishit to be her torch bearer. And I had a hearty laugh at "Sibin had been standing with an open mouth for the last 5 minutes or so". Glad Radha "found" her klipp, albeit with a little help from Kirti. Not everything that has been supposedly lost, can be found. Or can it be?

I kind of felt bad for the brother-sister duo at the party. Not sure why Biplab chose to ignore Prasanna after the flowers' entry. I don't think it's because she refused to dance. Did Lily say something? After Biplad left her side, all Prasanna could see were the pale walls & greasy food. Was it a wake up call for her? Nishit was only trying to help (and spend more time around Kirti), but he was admonished for something as petty as being left handed. I don't think it bothered him as much as the fact that Mayank's parents are thinking of getting their dear son married to Kirti. If Mayank & Kirti have grown up together, so has he & Kirti. He seems to be very disturbed with this piece of information. I understand Kirti's reluctance in pursuing Nishit. But what is his excuse? He obviously has feelings for her, and by the looks of it they are quite deep-rooted. It's still unclear what his relationship with Mithila is like. All things point to her being his gf, but I have a feeling she isn't. Something doesn't add up. From what has been disclosed about Nishit, he doesn't seem like the guy who would fall for one girl and have a relationship with another. He had even said once (to Sana, I think) that he doesn't two-time.

Arre wah, three updates !!

Kirti is such an honest and practical person. As Shruti said, on one was going to judge her if she rejoiced a little bit by Tejas's breakup news. But Kirti didn't even entertain the idea in her heart that she could get him now. I agree with Shruti, Kirti might not have loved Tejas, but the idea of loving someone, must have made her happy. But she doesn't love him, because a wrong touch, a wrong look from Tejas, sent her running away.

And she accepted that she has a tiny crush on Nishit.:) I would say it was brave of her to accept that.

I seriously thought Nishit wouldn't come for the party. But he came and their talk, dance, his offer for the help was so cute. It was unfortunate that both brother and sister didn't like few things. Prassana was jealous of Lily and Nishit's mood became sour after listening to Kirti's marriage plans. Sometimes I don't get Nishit. Like in last chapter, his mood is unpredictable.

Their farewell frooti story is so cute !!

Really?? Wonder what they said! A Couple of scenes in the movie rock your foundation because it is so casually oppressive that one doesn't even know one is oppressed. Till my grandparent's era, we were following so many of those practices!! That means we 'progressed' pretty late on. Phew...it was a stark reminder.

Joji - the mister had been telling me about the movie. It is apparently inspired by an old Malayalam movie and Macbeth. It is definitely in the list.

Watched The Priest last night. Mammukka is not bad at all but the movie wasn't what I'd call great. It has its moments though.

We are still reeling from the untimely death of Vivek. He was definitely great at one time.

Lots of Humor. Like the counterfeit. Dairy Milk/fairy Milk.. Brought a smile. Has happened to me when I read a Ludlum written by a ghost writer and realized like Nishit only after a taste (well few chapters).The DJ was hilarious but loved how you used both to show Kirti and Nishit humor is in tandem,ease and comfort in conversation with each other.

Dolphin Clip. Aware and treating a child like a individual. Nishit as a teenager had managed to engage the kid Biplab with a video game and here again with Sibin. How can one not like this crew cut kind leftie 😋 Yeah our age old superstition and traditions about lefties and the shortcomings of our elders.😏

If Kirti was to pause and reflect..Nishit seems to remember in vivid detail all her actions,behavior from their school days. Frooti from farewell,that she did dance in public in past (manisha..assuming he saw her),and also the song which she sang to participate in a competition while waiting for Mayank at his workplace. That is a tell Kirti 😂

I love how you give us glimpses of their school days,the natural attraction which they dont understand because of their age(she talking about the handome senior to draw his attention to her or he trying to angrily inform her that the guy is not perfect and smokes 😘)

Anyway so the handome Mayank has made Nishit jealous again...will he move back to his shell or take action? Nah I still dont think that girl (forgotten her name,) is his gf 😂

The above sentence by Kirti, will it come true in her life too? Will she find love where she is assuming she will not find it?

Kirti may lie to herself but her subconsciousness doesn't lie to her for sure! Her instinctive recoil from Tejas's unfriendly touch proved that she wasn't going to be comfortable with anything more than friendship with Tejas. So her crush, like Shruti says, was more her being in love with the idea of love rather than being in love with the person. It is surprising she hadn't figured it out for herself.

I really get it that Tejas's childhood wasn't idealistic but frankly, I think he had people who loved him and I am finding it difficult to find any empathy for him. Really, he is a man-child for whom I am fast running out of patience. I think Kriti would soon run out of patience for him too.

I loved Kirti and Shruti's conversation. In essence, it is almost like Shruti is Kirit's subconscious bantering back and forth with her. You don't have to say the words out loud but the conscious recognition of something is sometimes enough to make us accept what we don't want to.

The party scene was well written. I liked how you used the party to make Prasanna acknowledge the differences between B and her were more than just the lack of her mobility. Those differences may seem trivial initially but may become insurmountable later on.

That request for P to dance by B was something. I actually felt Biplap displayed not just a lack of empathy but a complete disregard for P's difficulties. There is a difference between acknowledging a person's disability and then accepting it without differentiating and refusing to even acknowledge it. That shows a complete disregard for her physical limitations and her feelings actually. Even if he could have held her and danced, maybe she wasn't comfortable displaying such closeness in front of so many people. Childish, B, so childish. Guess he has some ways to go yet.

So our man does make an appearance, Der se hi sahi aaya to tha!! I love Nishit's equation with kids. He really makes an effort there. I think he is more aware of the differences between him and Kirti than he lets on. Kirti acknowledges the differences but uses it as a shield all the while hoping she is wrong and the shield can be broken but Nishit is more aware of how difficult the differences actually are. Could even be the reason he doesn't want to do anything to rock the boat.

Wonderful chapters, GN. Can't wait to read more!!

@PS2 - I actually found Shruti & Nishit's equation quite interesting. She is protective towards Kirti and thinks Nishit is taking her for a ride, just like his cousin. So the gf remark was probably to make him realize "Dude did you forget you have a gf when you were waltzing away with Kirti?". I also loved how Nishit gave it back as good as he got. He didn't cower before the intimidating & confronting real Ms. Verghese 😆

True regarding Shruti being protective towards Kirti. Ignoring.in college comment is childish right? (even if it is true ...we do stupid things when young). I liked that he kept it civil and polite by genuinely praising her son but she cannot stop 😂

The college comment was indeed childish and unnecessary, especially considering the occasion. Nishit was a guest and she was kind of the host, so she should have probably toned down the sarcasm. No matter how good a charmer he is, Nishit needs to work a bit harder to charm this lady. She has heard tales about him ignoring and confusing Kirti. So she must have shown her displeasure at the first opportunity she got. Not justified, but understandable.

Yeah, I am not 100% sure about his situation with Mithila, but somewhere in my heart I just feel she isn't his gf. At least as of now. I also feel the tag he has about stealing girlfriends is either a misunderstanding or something Tejas has made up because of his hatred/jealousy.

I am doing well. Got my 1st dose last week. How about you?

Changing gf as flavor of month...does not suit him I agree. Maybe he rents his shoulder to cry on 😂...we will know the mystery soon.

I got the two doses. The concern is more for India right now 😏
