Clearly, you can take a lauki out of desh, but can't take the desh out of lauki 😆 On a happier note, one of the most fun ArHi OS I have read involved a lauki... yup 😆

This glimpse of Nishit was lovely. He comes across as such a decent chap. Patient, considerate, well mannered and clearly quite taken with Kirti Singh. He's even observed her fondness for jokes. Kaafi baatein notice kari hai ussne ;) He seemed aware of the creepy nature of the strange man who had come in judging by the way he immediately removed Kirti from his presence. Chacha?

Yeah, who ever that creepy man is, Nishit knew about his nature for sure. Maybe that is one reason he waited outside till Kirti's father picked them up later on.

I loved how you showed that while many a time we yearn to peek into and grasp a piece of another life, often it comes with the realisation that the one we do have is just fine.

Kirti's imagination was just as vivid in her school days it seems. "Karuna ke khule kesh like black sesame seeds in full bloom" 😆 And we see just where those genes are inherited from!

OMG How did the Lauki poisoning happen? I never knew that Lauki is such a hated vegetable.

We eat it regularly and like it too.

Apparently, one should smell / taste a tiny piece while cutting it. It can be poisonous, and has even been known to be fatal. Something I was clueless about before being felled by it 🙄This particular one was taking out its khunnas on me for I don't know what, but one tiny taste was all it took after the cousin said it tasted odd. Don't know why I felt compelled to check before sending it back to the kitchen!

I have read about this. It is suggested that one should taste a small piece of it but honestly we never follow this precaution. 😅 The only time a lauki is rejected is when it is dry as a wood.

CP, in our household too, lauki is cooked regularly. When I was young, I would eat it but never appreciated it truly. It was mostly duniya mein aaye hain toh jeena hi padega, lauki jab khane mein bana hai toh yeh zeher peena hi padega 😆😅

Then I fell ill and there was a phase where I was throwing up everything I was eating, then it was lauki that held my hand and walked me out of that dark phase.

I should do an ad or something along the lines of Naaptol or other sale product ads that run at night .

Pehle main bahut udaas thi...kuch kha nahi pati thi, log mazaak udate the...phir meri maa ne mujhe lauki ke bare mein bataya, meri zindagi badal gayi...aaj main bahut khush hoon aur sabhi ko lauki suggest karti hoon 😆😆

I have watched it. I had read it was inspired from her own journey as a writer. Not all of it but that passion to write. I like how Ahmed's dramas have strong women as their subjects.

Have you watched Maat? Daam? Meri Zaat Zaara E Benishan? Kankar? Unforgettable stories, all of them. Nowadays they have stopped making such dramas.

At first I was blown away by Humsafar drama then realised there have been too many Indian dramas like Humsafar. The reason it was such a hit was because of the chemistry between the leads and Fawad.

Meri Zaat despite having Humsafar like premise was stronger a story.

It was really a lovely portrayal of their(actually, his) attraction to her. Too bad she seems oblivious as ever. Wonder what she saw in Tejas apart from the fact that he made friends with her first and made her feel included.

Buta-Battata was too cute. Nothing like a baby to cut the ice in any setting and how wonderful of Nishit to make Biplap feel included. He shows a much deeper understanding of people and displays maturity beyond his years. I wonder what made him so mature at such a young age. Did having a differently-abled sister make him attuned to the hateful and disparaging words humans often threw around? I also loved how he came charging when he sensed a (perceived?)threat from Amit(?) I am definitely liking the teenage Nishit. Another stellar chapter, GN. Am loving the way the story is taking shape.

P.S. Are lauki and dhoodhi the same? Don't make it at my place...both my kids and the mister don't like it..irrespective of how many benefits it has, I can't seem to convince them 😆

Yes, they are the same!

Sorry, I love you - Ive heard really good things about this one but I stayed away from it because of the ending. I do have it on my list of To watch someday :)

Money Flower, I had started watching but left it in between.

You were talking about Hospital Playlist right? I loved Lee Ik Joon. Jung Suk might not have that tall and beautiful personality that other Korean actors have, but he has acting skills and an impeccable comic timing!

Biplap's dramatic rescue had my heart go thump-thump. If there was ever a candidate for hero material, then it is Biplap. I do hope he is cognizant of how his actions may seem to a sheltered, disabled girl and reciprocates her dhak-dhak's to an extent.

On another note, has it been revealed in the previous chapters what caused Prasanna's disability? Had she been born without the use of her legs or was it caused by an illness. I am sure this has no bearing on the story at all, but I was just curious that you had a character that was disabled and that led to me wondering about her legs and the lack of their use.

I love how you brought out the complete disregard India has for disabled people. Nowhere I remember seeing disability-friendly buses or trains while growing up. Of course, it's been years since I've been on any Indian public transport and things may have changed now (at least, according to the Malayalam movie 'Bangalore Days', it has. If you haven't watched this one, I highly recommend it.)

I feel this chapter revealed another layer of Nishit. I actually saw him as not just an overprotective brother, but as a person who loved his sister deeply and wanted to protect the loved one from imagined, and perceived hurt. Woe betide Biplap if he ever hurts one hair on Prasanna's head.

I have watched Bangalore Days! The other day there was a discussion going on South Indian movies and actors. I have watched my fair share of South Indian movies. I will confess I gravitate more towards Malayalam movies and actors. I have a bias for Fahad Faasil. The Idukki song from his movie is so cinematically beautiful. Captures the rustic beauty of Kerala.

My muse behind Prasanna and Biplab is this song

I wanted to ask when you had first referenced this movie! Ishq, was good. Well I can be called biased since it’s my language, but Malayalam movies are in a different space😆 have you watched kumbalangi nights, this kid is shaping into a good actor.

P.S: I like FaFa too!
