Shubhra is still protective for her father! She knows tapan inside out and still she wants him to change for her! So that she can have a normal life! Not even thinking how will tapan feel to be in a normal relation with a person who is the reason behind his parents death! And also her father havent even accepted tapan. Thays kind of selfish.... The way she compared her father with parul was really childish! How parul treated her, how parul accepted her and stood beside here even after knowing manik was the reason for their parents demise and tapan was causing trouble.... Manik is acting so rude to all!

To HEAR ' your father did this ' is one thing. To SEE 'your father was and is capable of doing something like the accusation ' is another thing. But to BELIEVE that your father definitely did that ?!!! Oh boy! That takes a lot out of you.

"AND YOU LOVE PARUL" was NEITHER an accusation NOR A COMPARISON of parul to her father rather.... MERELY a resigned acceptance of how doomed their relationship is in a typical no frills shubhra way of processing the sequence of events that transpired.

This was what I felt when I read that line.

It's a whirlpool, as in it was a relationship doomed from the start. Tapan got sucked in to it knowingly, shubhra got sucked into it first time unknowingly, till the time Tapan came clean to her of his love and then of what he did to her and her father in retaliation. And then some more . She got sucked into it deeper this second time knowingly choosing Tapan over that Monga guy.

If I take this further deep, parul was a FRIEND until the khan market disaster . Post that PARUL was more an IN LAW than a FRIEND.

Again no fault of parul but the IN LAW relationship came in the way OF FRIENDSHIP. No denying that. That shubhra went along with her father was not a reason enough for parul to suddenly loose her trust in shubhra as a FRIEND. It was a gutting blow to their friendship to have doubts creeping in to it. Both parul and shubh know it. It's not going to be the same anymore.

I don't know what to say.....

If they have continued to be in a relationship by just ignoring the reality then it was confirmed that in future one was definitely going to get hurt deeply.

We can't pin point that who is right or who is wrong here. They both are right in their own ways. It's hard for shubra to just leave her dad who she thinks is her only family who cares for her. But on the other hand we can't expect tapan to just forgive and forget everything that happened with his parents. So,in a way they are at two ends of the bridge which can't be crossed easily.

But as a reader I really love them as a couple and just want them to get back as soon as possible.

Broken up

Faulty as he is, Shubhra can not just forget years of love for her father. Tapan can never give up on Parul or Nitin. Nitin has been rude far too many times and he is still loved by Parul and Tapan.

Shubhra does need to accept Manik's faults. She needs to see who he is as a person. She can still love him but can not be blind any more.

Tapan and Parul need to see that just like they love Nitin despite his faults, Shubhra has to be given the same chance.

Their relationship could have only worked after some mutual understanding and negotiation. Tapan made it a one way street. Shubhra really had no better alternative but to walk away.

I don't understand Parul right now. She was totally supportive before and now not at all. She never asked Shubhra why she left with her father. What was her reason? What does she feel? She just suddenly came to the conclusion that Shubhra was responsible. How did she come to that?

At one time, Manik swindled Tapan's dad. The outcome was bad. Then Tapan blocked Shubhra and Manik's deals. What if something happened to Manik or Shubhra out of that? Would Tapan have been responsible?

When Shubhra told Tapan you love parul, she should have said you love Nitin. That would have gotten the wheels turning in his head possibly.

Don't even have to go too far back to rewind . That night when she pierced her navel to get a BB was a self driven reckless act. If she had succumbed to her stupidity that night, would Tapan have been responsible or no?

Would he have been held responsible that he was behind her lost deals, her pride and ego dented which led to her mom implying to shubh that one thing you were good at ... that's also a downer now. Her grief that night over her lost deals and her mom's thaana was created by Tapan?

So had she lost herself to that opportunist sleaze ball that hotel night, was shubhra responsible for her reckless act or Tapan?

My answer: Shubhra herself and no one else. Therefore to expect to shubhra to pay a hefty price for his loss is questionable ?!

Nicely said ErrantNomad.

Manik swindled Tapan's dad. Yes Manik was wrong to do that. But Tapan dad might have fallen prey to someone else too if he was too gullible. Did he do his homework before putting the nest egg into an investment? Did he consult his family? Manik does not get off the hook, but Tapan dad does get some blame too. Tapan needs to understand that, Like Shubhra pointed out, he punished her dad and her already. Its time to move on.
