Half
He left for the airport at midnight with Gagan and Parul, Arya was home with her grandparents, fast asleep
Parul looked heart broken
Two days ago she had sent of her younger brother with his wife
now this one, was leaving, alone
"Agli baar tumhara kuch karta hoon" Gagan hugged him when they did the pair chhuo and teeka before the departure
Gagan liked Tapan a lot, he could not imagine coming back to his family in the evening and not finding him at his new "office" the balcony
his parents were home, they tended to make a big deal out of everything, he didnt want to talk about, he decided he would on the way to the airport
"Subah shaam phone karogey, samajh gaye" Parul whimpered in the back seat
Mohit had given them his car for the night since Gagan's was so unreliable at this time
"Jeeju gaadi doosri le lete hain"
"LE LETE kuch nahi" Parul grumbled
"Yaar ghar ka EMI bhar raha hoon" Gagan whispered
"Can I help please?"
"Nahi maharaj" Gagan let go of the steering and folded his hands in prayer
"tapan please dont go after anybody or anything"
"No di, thats done, it took a falling in love to stop my indiscretions" he laughed
Parul cried hysterically into her tissue in the back
Closed her eyes and pretended to sleep
"arey koi nahi boss, aap to koi Brazilian le ao Sofia Vagera jaisi"
"Vagerah nahi" Parul laughed out loud rocking in the back seat
"Arey yaar jo bhi hai, uske jaisi"
"Modern family dekhna pehle band karo aap aur apne saale ki biwi ko line marna next"
"Parul yaar"
the mood was lightened as they talked about TV shows and what Tapan would do in the evenings when he returned from work
Airport camme too soobn
They dropped him off and Parul wept again
"Aise ro rahe ho aap jaise first time ja raha hoon, 10 saal pehle bhi itna nahi royi aap"
"Idiot!!" she scowled
He checked in and went to the lounge and stretched out
Around 3ish when they called the flight, he got a text from Shubhra
"was it you?"
"Can I say not everything is me?" he texted back
"tapan"
"I am serious"
He loved it when she scolded him like that
"My Dad told me last night at my Bday dinner someone paid off half of Mintu Gulati's dues"
"Not me" he said after 20 minutes, when he was seated on the plane
It had kept her up all night
That and the fact that he was leaving
There was no future, yet her thoughts were stuck on him, or it flew to him at every opportunity.
She knew there was no future, of course there wasnt...
Idiot!!
Her mind was teaching her a lesson, her soul didnt agree with any of it
She wanted to ask him if he had left for the airport
Well? Did u have anything to do with it?"
"We went over that already the last yearish" he yawned staring at his text screen
"Did u have a good birthday?"
"i didnt pay Mintu, Dad didnt either"
"shubhra I asked u a question" "Dont half a--"
"I did too, are you at home or en route to the airport"
He took a screen shot of the chat and sent it back
"there is no question like that
Well, she was busted
"Are u at the airport?
"No, taking off" he said
"It doesnt change anything"
"We went through that already as well"
He powered off his phone
